What I meant was its worth what you have spent. Dropping from 46-47 (stock HSF) to 39-40 (Gigabyte Volar) is consider a good improvement.

hehe i thought it will drop around 10-15C coz i use the AC MX-2 thermal compound..huhu cry.gif

Last time my temp dropped around 7C, changed from stock AMD hsf to GeminII. After lapping, dropped another incredible 7-10C too brows.gif
Abang, mari laa CM690. Then all exhaust use AllnGap's godlike fan, intake just normal one like CM silent maybe biggrin.gif

All exhaust should be at higher CFM than intake. Moreover if intake at higher CFM, more dust at exterior casing brows.gif

GeminII good meh?or is it depends on the fan u use on it?some ppl said the heatpipe too long to reach the alluminium heatsink..erm btw wat do u mean by 'lapping'?

Aiyak, not that big difference la.But overall your gain is good. Anyway,if you lapped your processor, it'll become like one in my avatar biggrin.gif

More info read here - http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...3027&hl=lapping

Lapping is to get your processor have a very flat surface so the surface is fully contact with the HSF thus dissipatin heat better.

Whoa that drastic temp drop just by changing thermal compound, is it possible ? Temp is all depends on the case airflow

GeminII is good because you get to use dual 120mm fan brows.gif I'm using Delta H from AllnGap. Great fan, doesn't have any regrets of buying it. The heatpipe is long but I don't see it touches anywhere

There'll be some differences in thermal conductivity using different compounds but ain't that significance. Only when paired with a good cooler provided very good airflow then only the temperature drop will increase. icon_rolleyes.gif

As for significance temperature drop, my MaxOrb manage to get 10-12C drop on load from the initial stock cooler. And only using Themaltake compound that comes with the MaxOrb. icon_rolleyes.gif

the 10-15C drop i expect is after change from stock hsf to Volar hsf include changing the thermal compound not only changing the thermal compound in the stock intel hsf smile.gif

anyway hows the noise of ur Delta H?

Noise ? Barely hear any of it with ceiling switched on. If ceiling fan switched off, then only I'll hear the sound but it is not so noisy smile.gif

Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch quieter than windstorm. Even my Sanyo Denki H Series which produced more than 110cfm provide lower (much) noise than Vizo Windstorm.

Another 7-10 degree drop adding the two fans I mentioned above. flex.gif

at 4000rpm fan speed, the temp at idle is already 65-69'C and the HSF is hot too ...
ermm, not much dust on the HSF were seen ...

do u guys think upgrading it to AC freezer 7 pro can help ?

@tanuki
As long as it doesn't hang it should be fine ,,, of course trying different temperature reading application or another third party cooler would be possible way to determine the accuracy of the temperature result u have got right now..

@matyrze
Running stock cooler ?? u could try speedfan or coretemp to verify everest result...

@matyrze
If u are getting consistent result from difference software ..

then it would be be u try to re mount ur cooler with good thermal paste from Artic Cooling or Artic Silver or Even Tuniq ...

@mmohdnor
Are you sure Freezer 7 Pro could be mounted on P4 478 socket coz if not mistaken Prescott 2.4 Ghz should be using socket 478 ..

hope I'm wrong ...
