yeah.have to wait till my Ultra90 and Chill Factor arrives then only i'll know  laugh.gif

question : if say my TIM isint applied properly, would it give me random reboots/crashes if i OC? unsure.gif
*
answer for your question: if you didnt applied your tim properly, the temp will be higher than you expected. crash or reboot when your processor overheated. so make sure you check the temp when u boot up, if higher than normal or your expectation, shut down and check your mounting and tim. dont wait till your comp auto restart else it will be too late. hehe..

Wait for it to fully sink in then see whether the temp will drop or not...if you not crash or auto-reboot, then should be ok lor... from the temp you given, I think if OC also will not get to too high... biggrin.gif

You got 1C drop from the first day install till now right as you got 37C idle before, now is 36C? Maybe you should wait... or if you like, you can reapply it...like that you can know whether you apply it right or not, so you will know how much should be apply next time...

I also wonder mine as I still get 44C at idle from that day till now...dun know is it not enough pressure... hmm.gif anyway I will re-install my NH-12F after I get my new CM Centurion 530 from Moderno soon (will buy after get salary drool.gif )... rclxm9.gif

haha...not rich man lar... just spend most of my salary to upgrade my rig as I not upgrade my rig for several year liao...after upgrade those thing, I think I gonna stop for maybe 1 or 2 years before upgrade again... laugh.gif

hope I can be rich like Uncle ianho... drool.gif

Edited to add: with my current casing, the space is very limited after install the NH-12F, so the air flow become bad... doh.gif as I read from forum here, found that the Centurion 530 air flow not bad, so I decide to get it lor as it is nice and the price is reasonable...I can't get those high end casing like Lian Li, Antec and Silverstone as the price is too high for me... sweat.gif

er.. can i ask, if i have Amd M2 3800+ processor with big typn vx, which kind of thermal paste i should apply for best cooling?? I see you all wrote so many about risk applying it.

If i use artic silver 5 or Zm-STG1, which one can apply to VGA (Nvdia 256mb DDR3 9600GS) and Chipset (MSI K9N utlra). Scare break the VGA and Chipset on board.

I just dnt know which one is good btw As5 and ZM-STG1?

So ZM-STG1 also will sink just like As5?

Can anyone give me an opinion?

Are you sure 9600GS, or you mean 7600GS?

AS5 apply to GC and NB chipset no problem lar...just you need to put very little of it, a little dot enough...then use the Heatsink to spread it... if you really scare, then use AS Ceramic lor... icon_idea.gif

from the review done by forumer here, the Zalman STG-1 not so impresive lor, still the AS5 better... biggrin.gif

The best way to know is, you check the temp during midnight, let say 12 am, then you check again at the other day at about the same time...mostly midnight will be around same ambient temp for normal wheather right? icon_idea.gif brows.gif

Plenty of review had shown that the Zalman does not seem to be very good.If you wanted the best, i guess you can go for the AS5 or maybe the TR Chill Factor currently.
