Hey guys I have a 65" LG C1 that I want to upgrade to C4, what are my options? Can I do trade in at Harvey Norman or similar? Or must I sell myself? Thanks.

You're not upgrading, you're sidegrading. If anything, it's actually a downgrade because WebOS on C4 and later models is bloated, slow and full of ads.And no there is no trade-in for such an old model at HVN. |

I was mainly wanting to get something brighter because my living room has a bunch of windows that I'd rather not shut all the curtains during broad daylight... understood the display tech is mostly the same otherwise. And no there is no trade-in for such an old model at HVN. Sad, maybe I'll buy the C4 and keep the C1 elsewhere or give it away. Thanks. |

C4 isn't really that much brighter than C1, not enough for a whole new display change. It's less than a 80 nits difference on a full field 100% white window (very unrealistic scene yes, even in a snowfield). On a 50% window (which is closer to most most scenes in any given movie) the difference is only ~60 nits, which is barely noticeable.Sad, maybe I'll buy the C4 and keep the C1 elsewhere or give it away. Thanks. If you want OLED for a room where there's sunlight, your actual upgrade would be a G4 or G5. Honestly speaking I think you're better off with a MiniLED like the Bravia 9 instead. But since you're going to be using the TV in a room with sunlight pouring in, the entire screen still isn't bright enough to combat sun glare either ways.I think I'll save up for a G-series then! Is the G-series good enough to combat full sun coming in from behind me in late afternoon? I'm pretty set on OLED because I do also game at night, and OLED really shines on PS5 Pro |

Even Bravia 9 mini-led is the highest end model under Sony, the blooming still exists and contrast is again no fight with Bravia 8 or 8 mark ii.If you want OLED for a room where there's sunlight, your actual upgrade would be a G4 or G5. Honestly speaking I think you're better off with a MiniLED like the Bravia 9 instead. Go for QD-OLED for the best picture quality is more worth it. |

QUOTE(TheLegend27 @ Jun 23 2025, 08:36 PM) Absolute best is micro-led. Samsung 89" but over RM 400K price lolBut seriously? OLED is currently best consumer display tech that's actually sort of affordable. If you want Android TV built in, you will have to go with Sony. Their flagship model is the 65" A95L. RRP RM 20K. The display panel actually comes from LG. LG also makes OLED TVs but they use their own proprietary OS, it has the basic streaming apps but cannot really install APKs.
