I am interested to get the 42" LG C4 OLED 4k tv, but so far can't find it here locally through Shopee or Lazada.

Senheng, Harvey norman all selling minimum 48".

I wanted to put one inside my study room, but 48" is wayyy to big. sweat.gif
42" is the sweet spot.

Planning to use it to play my PS5 Pro only.

after extensive research on reddits, AVforum & youtubes, I think 48" OLED TV is doable in my small study room.

just that i need to ensure my desk's depth is 60cm or larger, so that i can push the tv back further touching the wall. this hopefully will gives me at least 1.5 meter / 5 feet from the screen.

since this is first time i will venture in OLED technology, if just playing PS5 Pro only say ~2 hours for 3 days per week, when will i expect the burn in to happen in the future ya?
i play mostly RPG games like Demon Soul, some FPS games & action games.

LG only offers 2 years burn in warranty? If let say i buy at Senheng, can i extend the warranty to 5 years?

So far burn-in issue is very minor i think, only things you need aware probably is dead pixels sweat.gif

My C1 & CX both have multi dead pixel (by the time i noticed) after roughly 2 years+
Mostly developed on top edge in my cases.
Using case wise, it's nearly unnoticeable unless you super ocd.

Both now replaced new panel using final year warranty (2+1) and hopefully can last another 3 years.

LG 2 years factory warranty
Senheng Plus 1 member ship 1 year

You can top up another 2 years (I didn't last time) for a total maximum 5 years (2+1+2)

I just got the 48" delivered today at home. Ordered yesterday at Senheng outlet in Jitra.

RM3,999 (2 years LG warranty) + RM509 2 years warranty extension (Senheng) + RM24 delivery + RM150 processing fee for CIMB cc 24 month EPP - RM151 Senheng accumulated points = RM4,531

My PS5 Pro never looked so damn good! cool2.gif
You guys can share which settings I should turn on or off for starters?

one thing about warranty extension, Senheng sales rep told me they longer extend warranty period for LG OLED tvs more than 2 years as the cost to repair or replace deemed unsustainable for them anymore LEL.
but when i inquired the same tv at Suria Jerai electrical shop at Alor Star, they dare to give extension 3 years instead of Senheng max 2 years. But of course, the price was a bit expensive than Senheng's.

Hi, I have a 48inch LG OLED A1 under 2+3 extended warranty from Desa Home since July 2022. Recently noticed the dead pixels around the edges.. Anyone had any experience with the extended warranty from Desa Home?

EDIT:
All the notorious news about burn-in but these dead pixels around the edges is the real issue after much digging..

Was planning to invest in the C series in my next purchase. Now I am having second thoughts..

I believe it's the Plus one member +1 warranty free normally and there's this extension (paid) for 2 years
So normal case will be 2 + 1 + 2 which equals to 5 years max

But last year i heard from my sales man saying that Senheng no longer provide that Plus one member 1 year free for TV series.
Hence become your situation of 2 years Factory + 2 years Paid

For TV setting, can refer to Youtube - HDTV Vincent's guide

Not sure about Desa Home warranty but in my case, Senheng has this extended warranty "repair coverage" based on your purchase price.

My CX purchase price RM13,999 (the amount based on before discounted) and i request to repair
The technician will come and inspect and send the report to the "insurance side"

Then they will check with current market price and compare panel repair price whichever suit their insurred range.

So my end result will be panel replacing and the cost was RM6k+ if i remembered.
The technician will wait for the replacement to arrive and come to fix.

Once everything done, my e-warranty amount of RM13,999 will be deducted with that RM6k + labor fee and brought forward until my warranty expired.

Unless bad thing happen again and i request warranty, then my repair balance will be RM7,xxx
If cost of repair exceed RM8k or more, the outstanding need to self pay.

My CX had no red standby light and finally failed to turn on last month due to power board failure. Called LG and replaced with new power board for RM810 + Rm150 service charge.

Same thing happened to my friend's unit last year also.

Not much you can or should do if you don't have pro tools for calibration.

The standard things to do are:

1) Setup the system-level HDR for HGiG to be compliant with your TV's peak luminence (I think C4 is generally around ~750 nits for 48"), check HDTVTest on how to do this.

2) Enable ALLM and Filmmaker mode for the best out-of-the-box color accuracy for your games.

3) White balance/color temperature = Warm 50 (this usually tracks the closest to D65 white point)

4) Make sure color range (aka color spectrum) is set to LIMITED on PS5 Pro and LIMITED on the C4.

5) If you're playing in a very dark room, you can set gamma on the C4 to 2.4 or BT.1886, otherwise 2.2 should be the default.

6) Use BOOST for game optimizer mode to reduce input latency as much as possible.

7) Ensure your HDMI mode for the input where your PS5 Pro is connected to is on Game Console icon, NOT anything else. This is important for VRR to function properly, otherwise you may get screen "bonks" where the TV tries and always handshake with the console for a signal.

For no.7 if set to console icon, the HGIG can activate?
Cause for my CX and C1 have to be PC icon then only the HGIG will be available (else it is grey-out)

Not sure C2 onward any update.

HGiG can only be enabled in Game and PC input modes. It is greyed out in other modes indeed.
