hi all shifu, any of you already link your lg tv into apple homekit? because as per lg malaysia feed back ios15 onward we can only turn on tv within bluetooth range, any one tried?

issue solved    just need to turn on wifi in tv setting

For the time being, I might avoid OLED for now, concern on burn-in. Gonna use the screen for internet browsing for long periods, so might as well not risk it.

Yeah, so currently torn between these two:

1. Gigabyte M32U (32")
2. Samsung QN90C (43")

But more lean towards the Samsung since it ticks more boxes on the usage scale. But the price difference tho, RM3k+ vs RM4k+.

Originally target budget around RM3k lol. But seeing the limited options, don't mind forking out some more dough.

But then again, for more versatility, that extra RM1k might be worth it.

Gonna let my subconscious stew over these choice for a bit before deciding.

The Gigabyte easier to find seller. Shopee got offer from sellers with rating / review.

The Samsung harder to find seller with rating / review.

Usual online malls (Shopee, Lazada etc.) got results but most don't have any reviews.

Those that do, sold out edy.

LG Malaysia stupid decision.  If got 42 inch I would already have bought it too.

LG Malaysia management has always been lousy.  I still remember I had to parallel-import the LG G4 while every neighbouring country got the model.

I guess he might be talking about lg g4 phone 😅

but then 42inch seems like super niche market for malaysian, 48inch also harvey norman no bring in already. so actually cannot blame LG, cos they see market one also. no ppl wan lose money ma lol.

if singapore can understand, cos they have smaller apartment living room bedroom etc, so ppl may go for smaller one.

because tat time only have 40inch CRT hahaha. because malaysian less care about the PQ, high end TV kinda niche. and ppl is brand conscious also. they no care PQ as long as brand is ok. probably 20% malaysian buy TV got go rtings and search internet for review.

i mean is ppl wont even bother to do research before hand, at least u do some shortlisting. Most ppl here when want to buy TV, just go harvey norman, then say wan buy TV, then all is let salesman bring u fly kite lol. like if u dunno samsung no dolby vision, then u go for samsung, then u missed out dolby vision. yeah some ppl may think it is not important, but i can say dolby vision vs HDR10 difference is there, dolby vision HDR is much more realistic lighting if u watch in dark room and the video is properly mastered, thats y OLED benefit much from it.

i wont even bother about TV sound quality lol, prefer proper speakers setup.

Tell me about it bro. I have a friend who a few years ago kept asking me about "the best tv to buy". He was a fan of Sony Tvs (he had an old trinitron from the late '90s). At that time I suggested him to get the LG Oled which was the best tv available locally. Then when I went to his house for house warming, saw a brand new LG LCD tv (basically the worst tv you can buy at that time).  He some more can say that he bought it based on my recommendation.

Ok, at first try 2 sellers at Shopee.

After ping pong for a week, they say Samsung QN90C 43-inch out of stock & discontinued model.

So, confirm if want to buy Samsung / LG, need to buy early of year, especially for uncommon sizes.

Near end of year, confirm habis stock and they discontinue to make way for next year model..

Just when I already locked in on a preferred TV replacement. Haizzz...

At least their phones still can buy old models. Cant see why TV so limited stock...

New model not sure if better or worse than QN90C and for sure sell at even higher price. And even then, not confirm if new model got 43" or not.

The QC for LG oled tv is not so good right?
Seems like after std warranty 2 years this thing will pop out.
