Saw this while shopping for my home in Thailand, pretty cheap compared to Malaysia price.

What is the import duty like then? I remember the last time my cousin bought a 4k 27" LG monitor from Korea, Kastam wanna tax him like 20% IIRC. After much begging, one of them was willing to let him off. He got lucky that day.

I’m just comparing local to local price. Don’t think it’s a good idea to import a 77” OLED tho.

LG OLED has cases of many dead pixels and quality issues?
If compared with panasonic OLED, which one is better?

3 years GX 65" and I noticed some weird uneven edge at top of screen. I'm guessing it's dead pixels. It's under extended warranty phase, so now in the midst of waiting for reply from the shop I bought from to submit the warranty claim. Called LG, they don't entertain as it has exceeded 2 years standard warranty.

Usually that happens because the seal between the panel and OLED substrate is no longer intact.

Nothing really you can do prevent it.

The QC for LG oled tv is not so good right?
Seems like after std warranty 2 years this thing will pop out.

Hmm ... maybe i should take note on my CX now also

The top edge there really feels the weakest as mine also has some uneven wave and dead pixel.
Viewing distance doesnt feel unless i go near.

It can happen 2 days after you buy a new unit or it can happen 2 years later. How are you going to determine QC in that context?

The fault can happen anytime as you said 2 days after purchase.
But we don't expect this LG oled tv is so flimsy, do we?

I don't know. The issue isn't widespread enough that it can be determined as an inherent design flaw.

I suggest you better give LG a call if it’s still under warranty.

Back to my incident, I can claim for panel repair or given the option of offsetting the claim value (around rm9000) to purchase a new tv. For the new tv option, I am considering Lg G3 65 or 77. Anyone can share what is the best deal in town now for these 2 models?

Hello OLED pioneers. G3 5 years panel warranty is not applicable in Malaysia right?

Reason for asking and confirming is because when i go window shopping. Sales guy told me that it is covered... hmm.gif
