QUOTE(SSJBen @ Oct 18 2023, 03:20 PM) I believe LG is usually the cheapest in this region. Just went to a reputable panashop.Extended warranty is a subjective choice, that's up to you. I bought my 77" G3 without extended warranty, neither did I with my previous 77" C9. Asked whether Panasonic OLED tv is using LG plasma panel. Yes... but Panasonic is getting the first grade of LG plasma panel from LG. Hence, the quality of OLED TV is not compromised. |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Oct 20 2023, 04:31 PM) What plasma panel? Typo... should read as oled panels.. instead of plasma.Plasma panels hasn't been in production since 11 years ago. The "first grade" panel or whatever the fuck they told you is the the MLA OLED EX panels that LG is already using on the LG G3. Panasonic MZ2000 is Pana's 2023 flagship model, which uses the same MLA panel from LG. So much for being a "reputable" shop when they can't even give accurate info. Panasonic's only advantage is that they adhere to industry calibration out of the box better than LG. |

QUOTE(vapanel @ Dec 11 2023, 07:33 PM) 86" is bare minimum for living room movie watching Good if can claim warranty.hisense QC might be a problem as below for tcl, the price for 75" C845 (other model is crap) is approaching 86" QNED86. Might as well go for LG branded. TCL still QC not as good as LG. U7K have Bad backlight bleeding. ![]() |

QUOTE(Kahlamx @ Feb 7 2024, 11:40 AM) No doubt it's going to be a heartache if the OLED tv dies after the warranty expires. Or it might not happen at all and you get to enjoy all the best picture quality. New OLED tv should have the function to pixel cleaning mode to avoid burn in damages.I don't have a C7 but one of my relative is still rocking it since the day he bought it with no burn ins and damages. |

Dead pixels is quite common on OLED TV.
Better buy extended warranty for peace of mind to cover dead pixels. |

QUOTE(Rammygn @ Jun 13 2024, 09:07 PM) Correct me if I’m wrong, typically dead pixels show up/develop within the first few hundred hours of use right? Does extended warranty really safeguard against it? Also don’t they have like a threshold of number of pixels per square inch to qualify for replacements? It can happen within first few months say within 6 months or prolong use like more than 1 or 2 years. So it is wise to get extended warranty for a peace mind. Standard warranty covers dead pixels so extended warranty should cover it too. Rammygn liked this post

QUOTE(matt_rix @ Jun 14 2024, 09:02 AM) Can check with the manufacturer if it offer extended warranty.I bought Panasonic tv and check with them. So they advised me to go to which Panashop to buy extended warranty. It is better to get it directly from the manufacturer because of better services and original parts replacements. |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jun 16 2024, 08:22 PM) It's only been since last couple of years where we're getting consumer OLED displays that can fully reproduce HDR10 (static metadata of 1000 nits). We're still a long ways off from the industry standard of 4000 nits with dynamic metadata aka Dolby Vision (although that goes up to 10,000 nits). What about those OLED tv that support Dolby Vision in the market now?Hopefully MicroLEDs can reach prime time soon. |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jun 16 2024, 10:33 PM) Most of the OLED TVs that don't have MLA or heatsink tops out at around 800 nits (LG C3, C4). Those with heatsink can reach 1000 nits (Panasonic MZ1500). Then those with MLA can hit up to 1400 nits. So most LG Oled tv models are fake dolby vision? Those are average figures, obviously there's panel lottery and they are non-calibrated values. My own LG G3 after calibration hits about 1350 nits. Only your LG G3 and panasonic oled are capable for true dolby vision? |
