Hi All,

The OLED TV at home is having a faint rectangle shaped box (centre screen) and the model is OLED55C7T. Contacted LG customer care line and still waiting for technical person to return call.

I would like to ask anyone heard off or aware of such issue? Is Malaysia LG acknowledge the known defect?

Found this YouTube that highlighted the issue.
https://youtu.be/nX0AXzWm2cI

The main concern is how LG Malaysia will provide a fix and eagerly waiting. Hope someone able to share any news of any owners having similar issue. Thank you.

If you are dead set on C9 and do not want to settle for a C8, that's a pretty good price as its usually selling for 9999, or maybe 9499 lowest.

Hi there,

For those using C8, recently there's an youtube update version 1.0.64 updated 28th Aug 2019. After this update my C8 youtube becomes very unstable. A lot of times when I try to play a video, it either hangs with black screen or it just exit the app to your live TV.

I tried to find online for such similar issues but found none. I wonder anyone in the forum has this version of the app and is facing the same problem as me? Seriously I think in the past month youtube app updated twice I think. Bad quality checking, maybe a case of youtube app working with newer version of webos and not backward compatible.

Appreciate if anyone has a clue how to revert back to the previous version of the youtube app on webos. Thanks.

ps: I have tried uninstalling the app, reset the app, etc. Also tried power off and leave the cord off for 5 mins. Doesn't help.

Yes the newest Youtube update has caused the app to crash more often than it should on last year's LG TVs , particularly when watching higher resolution videos .

I have contacted them via email , perhaps it will be fixed in the near future .

Those sitting on the bench whether to sink in for an OLED TV, better just hold on a little longer. LG's new OLED plant in Guangzhou just started production. Prices would definitely drop most likely starting next year 2020's model :

https://www.anandtech.com/show/14809/lg-dis...trates-per-year

But high end panel prices would remain quite high as this new plant is not manufacturing the latest generation panels. High end/latest generation panels are still made in korea.

I wanted to say this before, but seriously you are DA MAN. Thank you for sending the email and this forum needs people like you. I think the crash happens because when you click on the show it tries to play an advertisement but somehow it couldn't and thus it crashes.

Just now I got a new update already to .65 version. 28th Aug one crap update and hopefully today's update will resolve the problem. Thanks again, BTW who did you send the email to? I hope it's not the Malaysia local support?

Actually , not so much of an email rather than a nudge on Skype , 2 days ago . I just happened to know a few guys who work for the local LG and they are pretty efficient .

I have just received the lightning fast update as well , good for them . Does seems like youtube app is not crashing as often now , especially when playing 4K videos .

Is anyone using the 55" C8 and using the default stand? I'd like to know the actual distance between the screen and the ground.

Thanks.
