Thanks for your reply. This is an issue for me as I plan to get the LG SL9Y soundbar as well and am worried that it will not fit underneath, or rather cover the bottom of the TV screen. Wall mounting is not an option which further complicates matters.

Do you know of a place where I can sample/review the C8 physically? I asked online and it seems that Harvery Norman don't have these in showrooms anymore.

LG in Malaysia and many TV shops cover burn in as part of their warranty , thus this article is literally meaningless to us in MY.

Plus , the OLED TV mentioned in the article came from the 2013 , the technology has gotten a lot more matured with protective measurement such as logo dimming and pixel shifting .

Modern OLED TVs are some of the most aesthetically pleasing and accurate displays ( talking about how OLED displays are being professionally used as grading suite monitors ) , with a far better sound quality ( compare to crappy LCD ) and light years ahead when it comes to picture quality.

Honestly , the only people who are still talking about Burn Ins are those who are jealous and bitter about the premium display but can't afford it .
Primarily because they have never own one and they don't exactly understand the technology either .

That or if you happen to be a Samsung employee wink.gif .

Proud owner of 4 OLED TVs here , couple of thousands of hours of viewing , not a single sign of burn in found .

BTW , the creator of this video is the same " Quantum apotheosis " guy who has been banned from Youtube twice , the same hilarious clown who are known to constantly attacking professional in the industry and putting feet in his mouth .
I would suggest anyone to stay away from his channel as far as possible .

Most of us know Samsung are the biggest attention seeker among the brands but even their PR want nothing to do with him , that speaks volume about the credibility of this guy smile.gif

LG , and a couple of shop like HLK , cover Burn In ( burn marks are what they called ) for limited period of times , up to 3 years .

Sony Center does not cover for Burn Ins though but the shop you purchased from might .

Guys, another question...what is the major difference compare with c8 and c9, other than hdmi 2.1 and eARC? C8 also support Dolby vision and atmos through receiver, right? The price is huge jump from c8 to c9 (5k+- for 65 inch!)

Thank you

Because it is " new " . And new TV should always be " better and more expensive " according to TV brands . That is how they profit from those with fat wallet.

Primary difference between the two are still gaming related features , if you don't plan to game on it just stick with whichever you can find cheaper .
We had more discussion in details on these in the previous pages from this thread .

Hi bro, thanks again for the feedback. Actually I'm abit confuse on the eARC and ARC....example for C8, it able to decode Dolby Atmos, but it only have ARC, can it still send signal to receiver through HDMI (ARC) and play the Dolby Atmos/DTS-X? or it will downgrade to only Dolby Digital/DTS? On the other hand, no issue for eARC?

thank you

For PC gamers using 2019 LG OLEDs (C9/E9 only) - getting G-sync compatiblity is a pretty nice surprise. Wasn't expecting it at all.
