Damn! If I knew earlier I would have done FD placement at HL using my existing SA instead of at HL Mach where I need to open a new Money Box account.

Had a nightmare experience with the HL Mach Service Centre at Aeon Jusco Bukit Tinggi, Klang.
Did placement with a single Maybank BC on 13-Jan. BC only cleared on 19-Jan ... reason given was their runner did not do the daily collection for processing due to rain. Checked online on 19-Jan, nothing in FD details.

Nightmare doesn't end there. Checked on 20-Jan, and only 2 FD receipts shown. Another one receipt missing, and it is not a small amount (5-digits)!
Call the service centre staff & they tried calling the branch for clarification. Too bad, the guy in-charge went on leave and will be back to work today. But at least the support team managed to clarify that the guy in-charge missed-out keying 1 receipt! Was told to to check online again today after 12 noon.

Finally everything resolved today!

After this experience, today I decided to do a new FD placement with OCBC (my usual bank) for 15-months @ 4.3% p.a.

I noticed the difference between OCBC & HL Mach is the placement date. OCBC used the date of placement with BC where HL Mach used the BC clearing date.

Anyway I don't like the idea of paperless FD placement especially with HL Mach. Is it possible to get hardcopy FD certs?

If u have existing HLB acc, mach is Foc.. just go to mach branch and open money box. Ur atm / debit card from hlb conventional can access money box. So consider free.

If u dun have existing hlb acc, then i think it is compulsory to take their debit card.
As for annual fee, i am not so sure. Maybe u use 12time and annual fee waive ? Haha

if only having the basic acct with HL, means no card, can still get the mach acct and free?

I have checked HL connect, there's no 4.5% FD.

i just went to HLB for FD. less than 5 minutes all done. The manager approached me directly and i even received free gift and 1 big stacks of red packets.

RM 10,000. Actually no free gift for others. The manager said only for me.

Haha... That free gift the manager told me only special for me. That's why I put fd there.

Maybe you can try ask your branch. No need envy la. I just treat everyone nicely. Sometimes joke with the staff there.
I'm not actually close with manager. I just met the manager twice only. But the manager really nice humble. I only have office number. Haha...
