Bought an item from Gemfive on Monday (30th November 2015).

Their website mentioned delivery date will take about 2 - 5 working days. Therefore, I waited for 2 days.

2 days later, I checked my order's status and it is still stuck at "Processing". Felt weird because the status has been there for 2 days already. Called the CS and they told me the item has been packed and waiting to be delivered. He also mentioned I will be receiving my item on Thursday (which is 3rd Dec 2015). Fine, I wait again.

Today morning, I checked my order's status again and guess what. STILL THE SAME "PROCESSING"! Called them and asked. They give me the same excuse, saying that merchant packed the item and waiting to send. I told them I am tired of waiting (online shopping taking 2 to 5 days to deliver an item is just lame) and would like to collect the item personally. Asked them to provide me the merchant's contact number and they say they can't because they don't have. I said nvm then, I will wait until today evening.

Just checked the status and it is still the same!!!! vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif called them and they said they called the merchant but couldn't go through as they don't pick up calls and don't reply email.

The CS's tone is like "I don't care", just ask me a question which is whether I want to refund or not. Instead of solving the problem, all they can think of is this!

Considering the merchant send out the item tmr, I will only be able to receive it next Monday (earliest and considering the merchant really send it out).

What should I do now? Really fed up! First time dealing with this website and got shitty service straight away.

Push for refund and forget about them. You never know what happen on their end, like if the item is posted or never prepared.

I made 3 separate orders Weds night. 3 main items that I wanted plus some filler Nescafe refill packs and Coffeemate as I was trying to get each order close to RM333 in order to get the max RM100 discount of the YES30 code. Anyway one of the items shipped Thurs afternoon. I got an email with the Poslaju tracking code and it seems valid. All Nestle items are currently showing as Verified and the others as Processing.

Update: Just realised that I can't find the courier tracking code on their website. It is, however, in the email that I received.
Update2: Received an email this morning (Fri) at 9:40am for another item which shipped. This one via GDEX. I was gonna check the tracking number but before I could that the item has already arrived at 11:30am. This is a piece of furniture from merchant Panmex.
The first item now showing as "Out for delivery" (Poslaju)
Update3: First item just arrived via Poslaju at 12pm. This is a DLink product. It shows as merchant DLink on Gemfive's website. Actual merchant is Aone Plus.

Not same CS smile.gif but they all give the same excuse. You r lucky they follow up with you. Mine? They said they will call back, but perhaps they are trying to call from outer space, that's why my phone received no call from them.

Wrong. This is just a local deal. For what should I wait for over a week? doh.gif

They did mentioned 2 to 5 working days, therefore I waited and kept my cool until yesterday. However, the status is still "processing" and no tracking number was given to me. So, tell me, how are they going to fulfill the promise of "2 to 5 working days"?

Sometimes seller tend to give tracking number first, but they will send the item out later in the same day or a day after. It could also because of courier service haven't update the system smile.gif experienced quite a few times before.

Some updates for this morning.

**Update**:

- Called Gemfive again this morning, and the CS was quite friendly. Gave me the merchant's contact number and say will follow up with me again

- Called merchant shortly after that, they picked up the call (don't know why Gemfive say they couldn't contact the merchant). Requested for self-collect at nearby branch. The person said need to ask manager first. Still pending reply now.

jacky91 How did your order go? Did you get it already? If you don't mind me asking, which merchant you had problems with?

As for me, apart from 1 more item, the rest of the stuff arrived today. The last holdout is some software. Up to now, Day 5 (counting only work days), still no news, status is still "Processing". This item is stated as 4-8 days delivery.

btw, got some freebies too. I bought some stuff from Nestle in 3 separate orders (total 6 items) and they came in 3 separate Poslaju packages. In each package was a free 5-stick pack of Nescafe Caramel Latte 3-1. So if buying Nestle products, order them all separately (after taking into account the postage, of course). :-)

Finally got it yesterday.

The merchant I dealth with is a IT product distributor company - A1+

I have to personally follow up with them for my item's status and I have received no call from Gemfive during the period. I really have no idea what are they doing at their end.

The reason of delay is because merchant run out of stock and this wasn't convey to Gemfive.

Anyway, I got my item already. Will not deal with Gemfive and A1+ anymore.

Coincidentally that's the same merchant I bought from. AOnePlus right?

For the 2 items I bought, one's a router which was delivered very fast on Day 2 and software which just came this morning, Day 6.

I count the day I ordered as Day 0 which was last Weds night.

I also sent an email inquiry to Gemfive on Tues, Day 4. They replied today saying it was already shipped. By then the item already arrived.

Perhaps because they got stock smile.gif so everything went smoothly.

Mine was out of stock and GEMFIVE totally got no information on the item's status.

A1+'s fault was they did not update GEMFIVE promptly and left me hanging there for 8 days.

GEMFIVE's fault was that they keep giving me the same excuse saying that they couldn't contact the merchant, where I was able to contact the merchant for few times.

Will consider few more times before buying from them again.

I asked a similar question on Gemfive's FB.
QUOTE
BTW, what's the difference between status "Verified" and "Processing"?
GEMFIVE Malaysia: verified means order passed payment. processing means merchant is preparing order.

Next status after that should be Shipped then Delivered if all went well.

When Shipped, you should receive an email with the courier tracking number. The tracking number is only in the email. You can't, or at least I couldn't find it, on their website. Weird.

seen quite a few similar complaints on their fb as well

the refund process takes a long time...that's why I didn't want to do it at first place.

Refunds tend to take a while. Much easier to give your money then get it back. :-) The only time when I had to ask for a refund was with TGV. Earlier this year, I asked for a refund on Jul 24 and finally got the money back on Aug 11. Just a bit over 2 weeks.

I was buying a few tickets but the website was so slow that the process hang halfway, no tickets were issued but I was charged. I was using Paypal. Then I immediately made another booking via the iPhone app which went thru fine.

Straight away emailed TGV saying that I wanted a refund for the 1st transaction. Went to see the movie with the tickets from the 2nd transaction. The next day they wrote back saying my booking was successful and the tickets were already used. Hai. Had to write back to ask them to properly read my first email again which had details of both transaction and stated quite clearly that I wanted a refund for the 1st transaction which failed.

Hi all,

I would like to add my bad experience with GemFive with you all and hope others can learn from mine:

I ordered an expensive item, Garmin Forerunner 235 for RM 1520 from GemFive. I bought a few items from there before but they are all low priced items and I did not find any problems then so I decided to buy this watch there as they were giving some discounts.

Shipping took quite a while to arrive (about a week plus). As I was eagerly excited opening up the package then to my horror this was what I find. See attached photos. The box has been badly crumpled and torn in some parts. Although there aren't any visible damage on the watch but because the merchant and Gemfive did not use any foam to absorb any impacts during shipment, it might have affected the watch internally seeing the box's bad condition!

To make matter worse, I bought this watch as a gift! How can I give a present in such a condition?!

For an expensive item such as this, I expected better packaging condition. There was no foam around the box to protect it from damage, only the box and the plastic bag. This is incredulous to say the least. Even sellers that sells phone cases like this awesome seller package their items better than Gemfive. Their only reply to my complain is a cold "sorry, we will improve next time".

To sum it all, I am very disappointed with Gemfive. Guys, kindly think twice before purchasing any expensive items from them, their discounts might not worth it.

Give one last chance, call them and if they still give the same reply, escalate to their line manager. If still cannot be solved, tell them you'll lodge KPDKK and police reports.

Don't give any chance. go lodge report to consumer tribunal and police. Because people do not dare take this up, they will continue to be complacent.

Their website got already what... But for your case you better check with merchant or Gemfive lor. I use sky net on almost daily basis for my work purposes and have no issues tracking.

I don't recommend people to buy from Gemfive. No seller info, no rating, no feedback, slow updates, slow delivery etc.

i second that from my experience. for cheap items less than rm10 okay. anything more, just pray hard.

Both seller and Gemfive are unprofessional especially the later. I found out a few days ago my Gemfive account can't be used to login; they must have deleted it after I made a complaint. haha

The reason why u/we bought from gemfive is mainly bcoz of the price, which is usually cheaper especially for items above RM800.

No matter which platforms u choose, eg Lazada, 11street, shoppu & etc, there will definitely be shitty sellers/merchants around.

So if your main concern is price, It's ok to stick with G5 bcoz there are many other merchants in G5, not just A1O.

My personal preference is G5 > Lazada > 11street (for items less than RM150)

I bought from gemfive twice.

Their CS is friendly and helpful for me.

The only problem I faced is with the merchants.

At least for 11street, the customers have control over the release of payment to the merchants only when you have received the items.

Lazada still the best choice compare to Gemfive.

My item almost 2 weeks still processing until this few days Customer Representative said waiting for Gdex to pick the item from merchant but as stated in the picture, 3 days passed, Gdex still haven't pick the item and Gemfive do not have other option for shipping.

Don't be cheated by Delivery Time: 5-8 working days (WM), 5-10 working days (EM)
There is a hidden processing time as well which claim to be 5-8 days, and yet still counting.

My order took 9 days to arrive. This may take longer if I didnt complain on the 7th day.

Order arrives but the condition of the watch wasnt too good. there are some minor scratches on the watch. Suppose to be Christmas gift for gf but gf saw the scratches complained.

Today is the 8th day of my complain. No action from the customer service and they just reply "sorry" .. "apology will check with.." .. "apology" ... etc.

So, dont buy from GemFive. One time experience is enough for me because I have many other options.

It really depends on the seller. Last time I bought a LG speaker. Took almost a month to reach me. The seller even mailed me the wrong item first time round.
Other occasions I got my s7 edge from gemfive reach in 2 days. Usually what you should do before proceeding with a purchase is ask others about their experience with that particular vendor.

Dont really think its gemfive's fault.

More like its the merchant that sent it slow or sent you one in bad condition.

I bought quite a few expensive items from Gemfive, most of them arrived in 1-3 days in good condition.

Also things in gemfive are more expensive because gemfive has bigger coupons than lazada or 11street.

As mentioned by some already, it's not GemFive's fault. Slow delivery is either merchant or courier fault. Poor product condition is 100% merchant fault.

Do the people here a favor & post the merchant name as well for selling poor condition products.

My only dissatisfaction about GemFive is that they take a HUGE amount of commission from each transaction. So if the merchant don't inflate the selling price, it's much better to buy from Lazada or 11Street from the same merchant.

Decided to give Gemfive another chance and proceed to purchase another item from them. At least the transaction this time went smoothly

Tried to make an address change and it was updated immediately, glad to see they improved on the service.

I still think the Gemfive should take the responsibility. This is why they are charging the high commission for every transaction they receive as you have advised. What I can suggest is for Gemfive to enable merchant ratings so that consumer when they shop, they can know which merchant is good and which are not.

With so many external parties involved, it's practically a challenge to take responsibility over the failures of those external parties. Lazada did that & they incurred huge amount of losses....well not that they're ever profitable anyway.

Merchant rating is indeed a feature highly lacking in GemFive. But depending on how's it's implemented, very few customers actually leave ratings behind.

Damn it!
If I have read this, I wont have ordered something from Gemfive! bangwall.gif

I made an order on 29/12/16 early morning (12am+), but havent received my item until today and the status is still "acknowledged". vmad.gif

In the mean time, I ordered the same item at lazada in the afternoon of 29/12/16, but received the item on 31/12/16 morning!

If the customer service team don't response to me or it take long time for refund, can't I just call to my credit card centre and raised a dispute for that?

I wonder when people will realise that in sites like gemfive/11street/lazada, the ones selling the items are mostly independent merchants and not the sites.

Even if they are the ones selling the items, unless it took them a week to ship out the item, it's the courier company's fault, that it takes so long.
If not courier's fault, it's the merchant's for possibly sending late.

doh.gif doh.gif

also if you got the item recently, its CNY. people dont work during the holidays. and that includes courier companies.

I see a lot of bad feedback but it's been ok for me so far. I've first ordered from Gemfive back in Dec 2015. I posted about them here. 4 orders in that month from various merchants. The ones I remember are TeeSang (Nestle stuff) and AonePlus (PC stuff).

Last Sat ordered some Milo from Nestle (Rurutiki), it shipped 14th from Johor and arrived today, 15th. Courier was TaQBin.

This gemfive really one of a kind one, I ordered some baby stuff on 1-Feb but until now still not yet shipped. Since my waifu marah me as she needs to use immediately already and there were no shops nearby selling the item, I decided to buy from the other 3 sites simultaneously on monday 4pm and below is the result:-

lazada - received on tuesday morning!
11street - received on wednesday
babydash - received on wednesday

Meanwhile here is the answer from gemfive CS:-

"Thank you for contacting GEMFIVE!
As we checked, the delivery normally takes 8-10 working days."

My 1st experience with Gemfive.

Its already a bad experience.

Bought something that shown "in stock" in Gemfive app.
I found merchant contact the next day & message them roughly how long will the shipping take.

Guess what, merchant said "no stock", i was so dissapointed & asked why didnt they update as no stock so i could buy from someone or someplace else.

Merchant said, Gemfive system was hard to handle as Gemfive are the ones did not update their app & system...not the merchant themselves.

After checking for any cancellation options, i saw no buttons for cancellation except u have to email them.
And also in the cancellation T & C, u can read they will charge u rm10 or 2% of ur deals for cancellation process....ohhhh my ass...

End up i told merchant i will wait for restock & email gemfive customer service on gemfive lousy system.

I doubt they will get into it anyway.

For my case which is quite similar to yours, the seller did not even send the item after 5 days of processing so I sent an email to GemFive( abbr. GF) demanded for my full refund without their BS cancellation fees. They returned it to me in full. With still no seller rating feature in GF, no thanks, I'll take my business elsewhere.
