hazzly1 depends on your own individual cold tolerance of course. But for what you described ie 10-20deg, I won't even bother with heattech/base layers. T shirts (maybe long sleeve) plus a casual jacket is enough to keep me warm.

For me 20 Celsius are wearing T-shirt only. 10 - 13 Celsius will be T-shirt + one thin layer jacket.

Hi, me first time travel to Japan on mid November. Kindly help me. What apparel i need to wear because this is my first time? I see googling maybe temperature below 20 C to above 10 C. Do I need to wear winter jacket or long sleeve only? Me also wear inner heatech buy from uniqlo smile.gif
*
Did you google on the right area that you are visiting? 10 to 20 sounds abit warm during mid november.

if its 10 to 20... a jacket over a tshirt should be fine. jacket with pockets to put your hands in there, if it gets too chilly...

i personally never tried heattech but it didn't work when people i went to beijing with suffered tremendously by relying on uniqlo (but that was around 0 C)

Its about right if in Tokyo. For me normally I just have a tshirt and a jacket that is not too heavy.
This is simply because if you get indoor (including public transport) its damn hot! Example today in Tokyo its about 24C and they turn off the aircon in the bus!! Its like an oven inside....

First you no need JR Rail Pass.
Because you only going one direction. From Kyoto to Tokyo. Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo are JR killer place. JR Rail Pass are very limited usage at this 3 city.

Second, you no need Osaka Amazing Pass and Kyoto Subway pass. Just buy Kansai Thru Pass.
http://www.surutto.com/tickets/kansai_thru_english.html

At Tokyo part. Just buy Suica or Pasmo. No need any Subway pass. Unless you one day take more than 6 subway train ride above only worth the price.

Can sent me a PM if you want. We can go detail

Hi sifus here,
I'm planning to go Hokkaido this year around end Oct.
Read in Japan Guide that Hokkaido trees will be turning red late Sept to early Oct. Would it be too late for me to catch the autumn leaves in late October?
When would be the best time to go Hokkaido if given a choice? Early October?

yup mid of oct is best bet, but i will choose mid to end to be safe
from my experiences, the tree turn yellow+red is varied by locations
mountain area, forest and city... all hv their own timing
so dont get ur hope too high, as there is no perfect timing

if u planned to drive, u hv more chances to encounter yellowred hill/gorge/highway/bridge/dam

i went on first & second week, i recall only 40% or less is converted
i guessed mayb global warming delaying the winter hmm.gif

deodorant, mayb can gv more accurate answer, i think he went at the end of oct

Hi, anyone going to japan on 5 aug until 13 aug? Initially there was 4 of us that will be going, but 2 of them cancelled this week because their leave were still not approved.

Now I was thinking of joining other groups, as I still haven't done the itinerary yet.

Japan always do advance thing in 3 month gap only. From Hotel to Transport , to any ticket reservation.
Now only July ...3 month gap , means until Sept only.
You want October timetable have to wait until August
