For Redmi Note 4G, there is a sticker on the bottom of the box stated Redmi Note 4G MY White. Xiaomi representative told that MY doesn't mean original Malaysia unit. MY means that the phone is compatible to be used with Malaysia spectrum /bands. So if we get the MY unit from other than Mi Malaysia, it might AP set.

For RN2, not stated MY because it can be used to various country including Malaysia and HK.

Correct me if I am wrong. Lol

thanks bro smile.gif point taken & actually acknowledged a few pages ago. I only mentioned the hk sticker again to say that in HK they do require english instructions too wink.gif

Bottom line is this .... is our unit's IMEI on Xiaomi Malaysia's database smile.gif Call 1-800-281-182 to confirm

I don't get what is the fuss of being not Xiaomi Malaysia warranty or not. Your RN2 are covered by Lazada, which mean whether is Xiaomi Malaysia or other country warranty, once you send your phone to local service center. All the costs is bear by Lazada. Lazada are official reseller and distributor of Xiaomi Malaysia.

The thing is the current status of the Lazada RN2s are only as good as AP sets. If Xiaomi doesn't recognise it as local set, they wouldn't even take it in for service. Would you take an AP set to a local service center? Then the owners will need to deal with Lazada, and they in turn will look for 3rd party repair and service.

I think Lazada themselves are not entirely sure of their batch of stock too. Well they can't be an "official reseller/distributor" if what they are holding are only AP sets.

Lazada items can be returned at Mail Boxes Etc (MBE). They're authorised agent for return collections and located at many places.

Okay. So here is the solution.
1) Lazada offer 14days of satisfaction guarantee send back to them.
2) Pick your RN2 go to your nearest Xiaomi Service Center and ask for warranty, since Lazada claim 1 years warranty from Xiaomi Malaysia.

That's shocking news to me, if Lazada selling AP set and simply put the Malaysia warranty tag.

Now I'm thankful bought it from mi malaysia site on first batch. Pretty troublesome to me if want to claim warranty for AP set.

Maybe some file corrupted when doing the update.
U got 2 options
1. Reset it
2. Redownload and reinstall the firmware.

I also want to check with them whether it's really cash refund into my credit card or store credit like Zalora. I want cash so that I can place order with Mi Malaysia.

Will also ask them if it's possible for them to replace a Mi Malaysia set for us, other than refund method. I also hope that it's a technical issue that our IMEIs are not updated on their system.

One thing to confirm whether our units are local or not is to check whether it comes with global or China rom. okuribito can u check urs since u have opened it? Thanks in advance.

And also those who have bought from Lazada, kindly make a call to them to reflect the situation. More complaints received should yield more concrete actions from them.
