I will be selling my Java Fit 2017 upgraded tyres to Schwalbe Big Apple
Comes along with ori tyres too Do PM if interested, may be posted to BBS in a few days time Reason for sale is underutilized after getting MTB. Feel better and ride further/longer on a full size bike. This post has been edited by SerioseCat: Jul 31 2017, 03:26 PM |

QUOTE(etigge @ Dec 23 2016, 01:08 PM) There's another brand Bryton. I haven't seen a unit with map yet from them. There's an importer in BBS selling them. My wife uses the Bryton 20+ . Basic unit. Just gives speed, time etc like the usual cyclometer but can record your ride onto the map. You have to do this only after ride when you plug in and log onto their website. Same like the Garmin Edge 20 and 500 series. I got that used from BBS , and I used it because my wife has 3 bikes and it is easier and she can plug the Bryton on any bikes she rides as there are no wires and magnet needed, just the unit. Also when I got that used at RM250, it is so much better and make more sense than an expensive Cateye or Sigma. Like I tell many riders, it makes more sense to buy a GPS (even a cheap lowest rung model) than to spend more than RM300 on a cyclometer. sorry for digging up old post. just wanna ask about brighton 20+. i know it's a basic gps unit, but i have a couple of questions regarding this model 1. After the current termination of bryton sport web, and currently replaced by brytonactive web, does it have any troubles uploading data to strava etc. i read many grumpy replies from the previous gen of bryton model's owner (20,40, 50, etc) voicing out their dissatisfaction with the new web, with the main probs is data upload. source: bryton sport fb 2. how does the charging port held up? im asking this because there's one model on clearance sale on my LBS, which is pretty cheap. still evaluating whether i should go for it or better just hunt for newer and latest models or other brands. there are so many mixed reviews with bryton, either for the best or the worst. im going to use it for mtb ing, and yeah, obviously on my other bikes as well. |

Hi guys,
Newbie here, trying to get into cycling and a couple questions I need help from all sifus here; 1. What brand and pricing of bike should I get for a beginner? 2. I'm planning to join a charity ride in this year end in Cambodia, should I get a bike that is fold-able or I can just check in the full bike from airport? 3. What other gears do I need? Helmet, sports wear, shoes, sun-glasses anymore? Anything else I should know beforehand as well? Thank you for having your time to read and reply. Regards, |

It shows your ass is still in good working condition Any recommendations?good to have it on my java TT? Feel my ass bit uncomfortable after my first 10km ride Saddle selection is subjective. You just have to try it out to know. Some say thick padded help others swear by zero padding… Some ppl has expensive ass, others has ironcladded rear end… Pun on more milage to season your rear end. Try adjust the angle and offset one at a time to find the most comfortable combination. This post has been edited by KenC: Jul 31 2017, 07:52 PM |

Entry level road bike will do, I did some research brands like Polygon? I assume budget around 2-3K?But if you just need to do it for a single ride, buy the most expensive one with hidden motor would serve you best. It's not for single ride, will ride on a regular basis and there will be no support car as it's not organize by bike EO, more like company charity program. |

QUOTE(fatani @ Jul 31 2017, 03:56 PM) hi etigge The Bryton 20+ is actually used by my wife and she too had lots to grumble about it. Reason is, I choose the Bryton and used it as a cyclo computer because she has multiple bikes and the GPS makes it easy, no need magnets and transmitter on every bike. As for downloading the actvities, I did try and it seems easy, no problems but uploading to Strava, I don't know because I don't use Strava. She's not into fitness kind of stuff. While I used Garmin, most of mine are downloaded to Garmin Connect. sorry for digging up old post. just wanna ask about brighton 20+. i know it's a basic gps unit, but i have a couple of questions regarding this model 1. Finally we sold the Bryton when I found an old model but new set Garmin Edge 510 cheap in a local LBS. So, we are not a Bryton user now. The charging port should be OK if new but after a while, you need to adjust till it charges. Also the charging signs are also quite vague, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. My take is, DON'T GO FOR IT ! The last time, I used it, it was for convenience. AS A CYCLO COMPUTER. |

Budget around 2K-3K can actually get you a lot of good bikes. If you talking about folding bikes, I would suggest the MIT 8 speed now. Folds as compact as as a Brompton but not expensive as a B. 8 Speed and can be easily modded to 16 or more later IF needs arises. It is on offer now in Singapore but I don't know if they are still available in Malaysia. Can check with Kimbell Jaya. They have a few last time. It's not for single ride, will ride on a regular basis and there will be no support car as it's not organize by bike EO, more like company charity program. If folding size is not a problem, you can go for the Tern Verge D9 which is popular now. I also have a 20 speed unit that I don't use. PM me if you want. Not proper to say it in the forum. |

QUOTE(jimmyyap03 @ Jul 31 2017, 10:01 PM) It's only the first 10 km. Usually every newbies ass will get pained after the first ride if they are too eager! Mostly it is because the butt is still not used to the stretching, especially when you are overdoing it for the first time. Most rider think that as long as one is strong, they can go for miles but in actual, you need to use different muscles for different activities. I suggest you give yourself more time to adapt. If the pain still persist, only then you try other saddles.I have been riding for quite some time now and I still get butt pain if I don't ride on my own pace......like chasing after a faster pack. To me the cushion cover looks ugly. Don't believe...........try and see. You will throw it away after a while. |

Riding a bike is never comfortable. When regarding "comfort" on bicycle. It's not couch potato kind of comfort. More toward bearable-discomfort-for-hour-without-devoloping-blister…
#ps, nothing will be comfortable after 6hr of continous saddle time… |

TBH, IMO in terms of hardware quality and software support, nothing beats garmin. it just only one needs to justify its price. if the price seems to steep, got to look for other options. |
