Hai Forummers,

I am going to get 2 units Tern Verge N8 and I am only interested in the frame, fork and handlebars an maybe the cable housing. Therefore, there are 2 sets. So, anyone interested in the whole set of components, let me know. Very suitable for those riding a 7 speed folding bike now and wants to upgrade to a rear 11 teeth smallest cog. Most probably the items includes,

01. 8 speed trigger shifter 02. brake levers 03. V-brake calipers 04. 11/32T cassette, 05. chain 06. Shimano Claris RD 07. the OEM 52T crank and chainring with the BB 08. original 406 wheelset with Schwalbe Kojak tires , front and back off course 09. the orginal saddle.

So, PM me if you are interested in these stuffs. icon_rolleyes.gif If you don't mind coming here to Taiping I can fix it all on your bike if you want, then maybe can go riding around Taiping. biggrin.gif

All 4 of the bikes mentioned are in the same category, more or less. I don't know what difference is the Japan version , is it Akibo? If it is the same, then it is the samelah! biggrin.gif Tern N8 is a good buy now, never thought Tern will go so drastic! Dahon Vigor has a very stiff ride, I owned one before but sold off and kept my Speed over it but also sold off the Speed now. Finally, the Dahon MU D10.

Taking your last comment for consideration (best frame n easy parts upgrade in future) , the best choice is the Dahon MU D10. Why? In future, it will be the easiest and cheapest to do so and also it's already 10 speed. Just change a set of shifters, FD and add a 39T chain ring, habis cerita already.

really? cool! thumbup.gif

yes..those transparent stickers..one of the stickers on my dahon somehow got peeled off and i scratch a little bit of paint on the frames during folding. luckily dahon provides extra spare paints for touch up.

right now just solo ride bro. haven't join any cycling groups yet.

last week only manage 87 km..this week got limited amount of time. probably this eve i might go riding makan angin with my kid at taman botanikal. laugh.gif

today story..

16" folding bike normally meant for commuting or short distance pedalling or glamour with terms "kayuh santai".

but today, i tend to challenge it!

a total distance of 73.45km with 16“ 305 11-23 8speed gearing and 53t front chainring. maybe i should put 55t, but my leg cannot suite more than 53t..

user posted image

for what i can say, its really pain to maintain speed with others rb for speed above 30kmh.avg cadence around 75rpm today, and really bad rolling due to small size wheel (dragonback route) resulting all the time paddling..

user posted image

and even though its 70km++ milage, i still can push this bike ageing more than 15year to maintain 25kmh for quite some time.the performance for this oldgerm are not bad after all!

next mission 100plus km with dabike laugh.gif

user posted image

my friend ride the 3speed sturmey archer internal gearing hub suffer not enough ratio to conquer this route, but he do survive even though slow!

really exausted today (feel like i already done 160km), but really satisfy with the result..

I'll give you a call when i actually can manage to squeeze some time during night hours.

Added a 2nd chainring to my outdoor paddling exercise machin.

chap ayam 39t chainring to my chap ayam sq. taper crankset and an used Microshift Cantos FD.

Attached Image

the 11-34t 8sp freewheel cogset also work properly after a bit of tuning.
Kenda Kwick Roller Sport is great value slick tire.

Attached Image

BMX stem and BMX handlebar to raise hand position to be comfortable.

Attached Image

Went up Fraser last Saturday, enough gears to paddle all the way up without pushing.

this configuration is over the top on flatter ground where I usually ride. BUT it gives me the option for high cadence exercise for upgrading my lungs. it's a keeper.

we all can do. just belive in urself.
when comparing to rb, few advantages keep in mind. those bigger bike with bigger rolling distance that makes u away from them. and few plus point for frame gemoetry design for climb..

so no worries, climb with ur own pace. dont follow if u cant.i never try sempah yet, but willing to. target climb till colmar at bukit tinggi one day! laugh.gif
