My right pedal loose up during yesterday and today ride. Reach home and found that it's a quite filmsy mechanism to hold the pedal on place. My right side quick release was loosen up and now the spring is not in a very good condition  sad.gif  sad.gif

my friend pedal also loose (dahon brand qr pedal right?) after i take a spin climbing here.. only inside pin to hold the pedal, unlike mks brand.

the qr pedal that solid from my expirience is MKS brand. still using it until now.that one really good one.but the price i bought before around rm200+.. really pricey but worth it! (but when i think about it, i can get cleat pedal with that price laugh.gif )

anyway, my friend had sold of his pedal without return it to the shop. i also had qr pedal originally from my tern verge p9. also loose and i keep it for 1 day i hope i could repair it.

Yeap I have a mks quick release on my road bike (it's a crmo frame so it look nicer to ride with toe cage and strap) and it's incomparable with the Dahon 1. I tried open it up and the mechanism to hold the pedal is really weak. Kind of fixed for now but it's really annoying when the pedal come out during ride.

What about wellgo qr pedal? It looks like share the same mechanism with mks.

I notice the bottle cage on your term handlebar, where said u got it and what brand is that?

Btw a friendly reminder for fellows cyclist, DO NOT mount your phone on handlebar. My phone just got snatch. Being an easy target for criminal. Kampung boy had too much faith in humanity sad.gif sad.gif

i use normal one. b17 need sometimes to break in. means u need to used it for some period time (lets say pedal more than 100km) before the saddle will fit with ur butt.besides b17 needs special wax to maintain the leather in good condition.whrn raining, u need to cover the saddle so its protect the moisture in certain ways.the most popular model is b17 stdt..

speed p8 with c15

c15 is nice and looks sporty. but u will pay for the extra price that i feel worth it.why?bcoz no maintainence and ready to be use without breakin period.both great saddle if u cycle without cycling pants.

i got few folding bike with 33.9cm seatpost. so sometimes i change it depends on my mood..but the best saddle to match ur chromoly frame from my eyes is b17..

no lah ken. im not that fast la. just cycle for a better health only laugh.gif

though the most comfortable saddle is going to be the leather b17, the thoughts of having to maintain it, and of course, RAIN, is enough to turn me off..i can endure the break in period, but being a robust person, i think the b17 won't last long if it's me is the owner..hehe..(i have a honda c70 which i restored at home, only bling2 for the first few months, and now is only there collecting dust and rust..couldn't care less sweat.gif )

so that leaves me with the other choice, which is the maintenance free cambium..what's bothering me is only the size, and between the carved or non carved version, i can't decide which one suits me better..no shop in melaka sell the cambium. i have to order online. so there's no physical products that i can see and touch and feel..

choosing a wrong saddle, will be a costly mistake, especially if it's a brook. sweat.gif sweat.gif ..dilemma betul tongue.gif

this is what i found after weeks of googling around. sweat.gif

c13 c15 c17 all have different width with c13 is narrowest and c17 is widest. only c13 comes with carbon rails, the others comes with stainless steel rails. i think the carved version is only available with the c15 and c17. c15 and c17 cost the same. yes, the carved version is a little bit pricey than the non carved. the carved version is supposed to give users more comfort..

now i heard got c19, which is catered for oversize figure.

u using cleat eh..sell that qr mks pedal to me cheap2 boleh? ehehheh biggrin.gif

Hey Guys, I am new to folding bike and also aiming to buy which is under < 2k .

There are several brands I am looking at like JAVA, dahon and TERN, but obviously tern is slightly over my budget. I was comparing JAVA vs dahon, it seems JAVA have better spec like 18/16 speeds , dahon 7/8 speeds, JAVA disc break, dahon rim brake, etc.

Also hardly can see review for JAVA folding bike, but the design is really cool.

Can share your idea based on past experiences ? Thanks guys smile.gif

Been having the same idea also.
The tern verge is so nice! Too bad miss the deal, where verge n8 offered at RM2240. Now according to rodalink boss, n8 is out of stock whole malaysia.

Saw this tern verge x10, sexy piece of machine, but price.... can only afford java fit...๐Ÿ˜ญ

if u can spent more, i would recomend java ira. 18speed sora with prowheel hollowtech crank. some more with 451 wheelset, caliper brakes and half carbon fork for me that was a good performance bike!

Pricy sure do, but final product must be satisfying. Top end frame with top end components! Hope someday can afford that as well.

About Java ira, can elaborate more on which part better than Java fit 18s? Spec of Java fit 18s copy from bobs as follow:

Java Fit 18s
Frame: FIT Aluminium 7005
Fork: Alloy 7005
Rim: DECA Alloy 20" Seal Bearing with Disc Brake
Tire: CST 20 x 1.35
Gear: 9" Shimano Altus (18 speed)
Shifter: Shimano Altus
Rear Derailleur: Shimano Sora 9S
Front Derailleur: Shimano Claris
Crank: Pro wheel 39 - 52T
Seat Post: Deca Aluminium 33.9" (size)
Cassette: 11-28T

Java ira
Spec :
- Chromoly frame
- Carbon Fork
- Shimano Sora 18 speed
- Prowheel Hollow Crank
- Deca Cattiva 451 High Profile Wheelset

From what I only know is different in carbon fork. Other not quite understand the difference.

Thanks sifu azam!

Still available at Kimbell Jaya at the same discount. I have just got one and there's still another 2 left , I think. Even here in Taiping , there's one black/green and can get at the discounted price.
