Good Day Ladies and Gentlemen,

After so many yet insufficient researches I've done, it seems that most people would prefer to apply for the Migration VISA by themselves.
They explained that we'll do it better than the Agents because Agents are handling hundreds or thousands of application which are not their own, imagine how much effort will they put?
Will they treat our precious application as an important matter or just normal working cases they have everyday?
Will there be a guarantee that they will increase your percentage of succeed?

I have seen many forum friends, ended up with frustration because of the services the Agents provide; the delay in responding to your inquiries; no update on your application status.
In the end, it's your decision whether to control your own fate or let others control it for you.

Just my 2 cents.

who would want to pay 10k-12k for something they can do it themselves? laugh.gif

but not everyone's situation is straight forward or have the time to go digest those info on border.gov.au

and some of the bros here who did via agent are surprisingly fluent with the application process, unfortunately most people i have seen know nuts and do not bother understanding the process cos they've already paid a lot of money laugh.gif

Anyone know, for Engineers, if you want to have your Work experience recognized by ENGINEER AUSTRALIA, must the letter from the company chopped with "Certified true copy" or just using letter head would suffice?

Hi guys! I have a question on getting a job while visiting Australia with the 3 month tourist visa. My Australian boyfriend and I want to put an end date on our long distance relationship, so he insisted I move there and stay with him. Of course I'm all ready to do so, but I really want to secure a job as well (don't wanna be jobless lol) and the holiday working visa application was in July sad.gif is there any luck to secure a job while you're there? Are employers willing to help with visa application? I have a UK degree and have been working as an marketing executive for 3 years in Malaysia. Can anyone advise me if it's possible to do that?
*
Applying for a job on a tourist visa is illegal. Any employer found to have hired you when you have no working rights in Aus will be fined.

Either you apply for a de facto visa, or a PR visa. No two ways about this.

Or maybe wait till next July and do the work-holiday visa application.

Thanks for ur response! But im not sure if anyone gets my question right sad.gif

I don't intend to work illegally with my tourist visa.. I'm just wondering if anyone had any luck landing on an interview while visiting as a tourist, and then the employer wants to hire you and get a visa for you so you return and work legally.

I don't think it's illegal to come here on a tourist visa and apply for job hoping to land an interview here. The way I see it, applying for jobs can be done online, you can apply for jobs anywhere.

There is one person i know who flew here for 3 mths on a tourist visa to find a job and got a job here under 457. This person is in healthcare industry and has an Aussie degree.

you can try but I have not seen any marketing executive getting hired this way. I believe the position in the area of marketing is very competitive here. Unless you are multilingual or have some good exp to offer.. It is unlikely an employer will be willing to bear the high cost of sponsoring the 457 visa to hire you. But I could be wrong, you can try. If you don't try, you won't know. I have met people here from all over the world, they landed here on various circumstances. Not all came through the legal way but their employers grew on them and they got the PR eventually. smile.gif

Why not apply defacto partner visa first? You will have working rights and can apply for jobs when you come visit your partner for holiday before you move here permanently.

My question is... While I'm visiting there as a tourist, will I get any luck applying jobs and going for interview without a working visa? I mean, will the employer be willing to apply a visa for me? If they do, I would come back and go through the formalities first before going back again. I don't intend to work illegally with my tourist visa. Is there any possibilities?

As others have mentioned the only options without a PR is either a working holiday or 457 visa. As there is $$ and paperwork involved with 457, u must hv a special skill set. Otherwise it is a tough job market here.

It doesn't work out that way. I received tonnes of email who's actually tourist looking for interview or work. I normally won't entertain coz it's too expensive to appoint one!

Problem is if anyone who holding tourist visa, bringing their CV/Cert or hand tools, you better don't get caught. Custom will give you heaps of questions. Worst case is sending you on the next flight.
Don't play2 ar....go thru the proper route, don't take risk. Not worth doing that. cool2.gif

I think everyone knows the right way of doing things. But not everyone have enough points or a skill on the sol to get working rights here. But if they have strong desire to move here and are determined and willing to take the risk.. I think they just need a little encouragement.

which stage are you in?
if you are at skills assessment, the respective bodies should have a list of their own
if you are at the visa application, your case officer will give you a list

i won't give encouragement on this unless our company really willing to sponsor him over otherwise no. the fact is it's harsh but think about it if they so desperate to get a job here, they'll get abuse in wages and rights and working long hours. any $hits happens or unfairness, no complain can be made thru fair work.
so, is it worth it? NO.

i came across some malaysian who worked illegal especially in construction site (where i used to hang around). most of them working illegally using tourist visa. what they told me is they cannot sick, means no wages (hourly paid as low as $10/hr and working 12hrs/day @ 7 days). Most of them working as tilers, plasterers, painter and gyprock ceiling. After working 3 years, they'll pack and go back home with their cash. Some of them with children back home whereby they've not seen their kids for years! I told them Malaysia is not a war torn country, not as bad as afghanistan or iraq. Not worth of coming here for this.

Look guys, Australia is still a lala land especially perth. everyone is acted like cowboy here. i dunno about eastern states but for sure here is not as 'civilised' as you imagine...lol laugh.gif
