I'm trying to search for a suitable visa for my partner. The thing is, I met my gf after applying and getting the 190 visa for myself and haven't actually migrated there yet. Would it be possible to apply for a prospective partner for her if I haven't settled or work in Australia yet? Or would it be better to get married oversea first and apply for a partner visa afterwards, or any other suggestions to increase her chances..

IDP and BC conduct IELTS exams

PTE is an alternative to IELTS

Hi guys, bit of out topic but just sharing my experience here.

Lots of Malaysians particularly if you think Australia is a great place to retire and problem free, please make sure you do your homework and some research before you come here. Nothing wrong about Australia and the policies in place for years. Happens that mostly Malaysian thinks that it's a heaven here. The mentality has to change when you step you feet here. It's a totally different country as you guys know and has to respect the law and the customs and culture here.

2ndly, please bear in mind, if you're rich in Malaysia, thought you're living like datuk or datin and can live like a king or queen here with kakak, sorry, Australia might not be the place for you. Everyone have the same level. Don't ever try to use your Malaysia ah beng ah seng style to control everyone here. Don't try to appoint someone to work like hell just help you to gain PR status. It doesn't work here.
So far, i encounter quite a number of business visa status Malaysians here who thought they're rich with some millions of ringgit in hand and act like very babi (Cantonese). Complaining here and there and telling stories how good they are in Malaysia with big house and money. If you think Malaysia is better place, please pack your bags and go back. Please, you've no place here.
It's very sickening when i encounter those people. That's why i always 'char' them....don't like ah? go back lor....their answer is 'dun wan lar, here better'....then shut the f*ck up. Stop complaining about how big your house in malaysia, here the house very old, not big enough....then build your own lar....their answer is 'aiya, cannot find job yet, cannot get loan....hey? thought you're rich???

3rdly, if you think you're rich and wife no need to work, make sure your pocket is deep enough. Some of them telling me wife never work in Malaysia, now need to work here, then don't work lar! Kids no one to take care, send to daycare lar! Don't tell me daycare not good or watsoever. Daycare here is better than Malaysia. My kids all in daycare, socialised with local kids and well-interact. What makes your kids so special that your kids don't mix with daycare kids? becoz of poor and dirty kids? even my GM (angmoh) kids also grown up in daycare. So? your kids is family and our kids are not?

4thly, learn to respect everyone here. Not label based on financial status. I knew some friends and becoming very close mates (Indon) who their parents manufacture (licensed manufacturer) for Prada. But they're very humble couple. Got some rich mates who really treat you as true friend and don't even bother your financial background but sharing their views and life and disclose their personal problem coz they trust you. And please note that these ppl are not Malaysian. Learn to respect and be humble. Don't act like got few millions ringgit ah chi ah cho like very rich. You come here is nothing!

My boss from China with USD 1billion turnover, bring us to dinner almost every 2 weeks. Humble person and everytime coming back here to Perth giving everyone of us presents (AUD 300 valued) coz he remember our hardwork. I got no money but my brain to contribute. A good rich boss doesn't calculative not like our Malaysian boss who ganasai, giving professional services for few projects and don't pay a single cent.

And please, not all Chinese boss are so bad or stingy like the media reported. I'm consider myself lucky as my boss appreciate my hardwork. Will follow him to China for business trip for a week.

The correct mindset!
1) Be prepared to work from the very bottom onwards.
2) Though 1) may not work out most of the time. Be prepared that you will have to work odd jobs.
3) Be open and adapt to the local culture. Get to know the Aussie and blend in with them.

Hi guys! I have a question on getting a job while visiting Australia with the 3 month tourist visa. My Australian boyfriend and I want to put an end date on our long distance relationship, so he insisted I move there and stay with him. Of course I'm all ready to do so, but I really want to secure a job as well (don't wanna be jobless lol) and the holiday working visa application was in July sad.gif is there any luck to secure a job while you're there? Are employers willing to help with visa application? I have a UK degree and have been working as an marketing executive for 3 years in Malaysia. Can anyone advise me if it's possible to do that?

I suggest you do more research before posting. All the info you need is immi Oz web site.
If you do your research, u will know that is ILLEGAL to work on a tourist visa.
So most likely even if u land a job, it will be manual labour, cash only with very low wages. If immi catches u, then tendang back to Msia.

rclxms.gif How true.
It makes it easier if u have studied here once and understand the lifestyle. For those that intend to migrate without living here, they will find it a MASSIVE challenge.
Esp those with kids, a lot of couples cannot cope without Aminah/Marilyn. Have to fetch kids, do house chores, cook and clean.

For the breadwinner, some may find it humiliating to accept a lower position than what they were used to. Also lament the fact they could spend like anything in Msia like nobody's business but watch every sen in Aust.

The kids will probably have it the best. Little or no homework, no rote learning and best thing, no rotan.

It's all about expectation and reality. Know what your objectives are for migrating is the key thing.

Good Day Ladies and Gentlemen,

After so many yet insufficient researches I've done, it seems that most people would prefer to apply for the Migration VISA by themselves.
They explained that we'll do it better than the Agents because Agents are handling hundreds or thousands of application which are not their own, imagine how much effort will they put?
Will they treat our precious application as an important matter or just normal working cases they have everyday?
Will there be a guarantee that they will increase your percentage of succeed?

I have seen many forum friends, ended up with frustration because of the services the Agents provide; the delay in responding to your inquiries; no update on your application status.
In the end, it's your decision whether to control your own fate or let others control it for you.

Just my 2 cents.

Hi Shazam, thanks for your response. Yes I'm aware of that. My question is... While I'm visiting there as a tourist, will I get any luck applying jobs and going for interview without a working visa? I mean, will the employer be willing to apply a visa for me? If they do, I would come back and go through the formalities first before going back again. I don't intend to work illegally with my tourist visa. Is there any possibilities?

Always learn to be humble and bend your knees. Don't feel shameful to keep your hands dirty. This is the place where you gonna set foot in this place.
You'll learn something new from here. Forget about how glamour your lifestyle is in Malaysia, learn something based on your bare hands. You'll see how many things you could do without your kakak...lol

I dunno what kind of mindset they got but something tells me that they're here for honeymoon forever or retirement. Expect ppl work for him but don't pay or pay peanuts. Thought they're living like a king back home.
Anyway, i got this bloody guy still thought he's living like a king with disgusting attitude. soon he'll face the pain...anyway, that's how they are. if cannot tahan, balik la...
