Not sure where your first step starts from.

Assuming you are talking about visa 189 or 190, generally the very step is to do a self evaluation on how many points u can claim.

You may express interest if you have at least 60 points.

You must have obtained skill assessment for your nominated occupation and IELTS results before you express interest.

Pretty much. Especially if you're claiming points for it. Check your SOL too- some require an IELTS score of 7, some 8.

HI guys,

me and my partner want to migrate to Australia. I have done the assessment as below:
[attachmentid=7171910]

The first step should go for IELTS and get at least 7.0 rite? May i know what is the next step after this?

Besides, does my partner need to go for the IELTS as well?

20 points for English is actually band 8.0 in all modules sweat.gif

partner no need if you can get a completion letter from her uni stating that she had completed her degree in English

ya u need band 8.0 for all modules to get 20points

however, 60 score is sufficient for the assessment rite?
so if i get 7.0 for all modules and i will still get 10scores, and im still meet the min requirement.

is the score higher the better?

I think you can scroll back to earlier pages and have a read through as to what you can expect/ what needs to be done.

Several sifus like Nemesis, soony etc have given some really good advice.

Best of luck.

My partner didn't take the IELTS exam but just had to prove that she has functional English. (E.g A letter from her university stating that her course was conducted in English). Though the more evidence the easier the process.

60 points in EOI may result you obtaining your invitation much slower. So if time is on your side then 60 would be sufficient. However, if you are in the rush of migrating to Australia (maybe due to age bracket), then by all means try the best in getting band 8 across all modules.

What's next after EOI? Wait for the invitation and make sure you have all the documents in place. =) Don't ever try to do both in parallel as the window during the invitation is pretty short.

Hope the above helps.

Before IELTS get your education and work experience assessed. That is the most difficult stage.

You think you have degree but after assessment might be equivalent to AU diploma.
You think you have 10 years experience, yet after assessment probably only 5 years.
Your points will change drastically.
