Hi guys! I have a question on getting a job while visiting Australia with the 3 month tourist visa. My Australian boyfriend and I want to put an end date on our long distance relationship, so he insisted I move there and stay with him. Of course I'm all ready to do so, but I really want to secure a job as well (don't wanna be jobless lol) and the holiday working visa application was in July sad.gif is there any luck to secure a job while you're there? Are employers willing to help with visa application? I have a UK degree and have been working as an marketing executive for 3 years in Malaysia. Can anyone advise me if it's possible to do that?

I suggest you do more research before posting. All the info you need is immi Oz web site.
If you do your research, u will know that is ILLEGAL to work on a tourist visa.
So most likely even if u land a job, it will be manual labour, cash only with very low wages. If immi catches u, then tendang back to Msia.

Hi Shazam, thanks for your response. Yes I'm aware of that. My question is... While I'm visiting there as a tourist, will I get any luck applying jobs and going for interview without a working visa? I mean, will the employer be willing to apply a visa for me? If they do, I would come back and go through the formalities first before going back again. I don't intend to work illegally with my tourist visa. Is there any possibilities?

Applying for a job on a tourist visa is illegal. Any employer found to have hired you when you have no working rights in Aus will be fined.

Either you apply for a de facto visa, or a PR visa. No two ways about this.

Or maybe wait till next July and do the work-holiday visa application.

Thanks for ur response! But im not sure if anyone gets my question right sad.gif

I don't intend to work illegally with my tourist visa.. I'm just wondering if anyone had any luck landing on an interview while visiting as a tourist, and then the employer wants to hire you and get a visa for you so you return and work legally.
