haha I almost applied to UTAS when applying for undergrad courses. They really peddled their uni so well, and the look of Tassie was like woah. But then WA ended up being cheaper so my dad said go there la haha.

Points checking is likely first stage, where agent checks for you and sees what needs to be done- IELTS, Skills assessment etc.

Depends on the SOL la. What is your nominated occupation? Some take longer than others, as quotas fill up really quickly. But 1 July it was all refreshed so reset again lah.

Western Australia.

But my visa is state sponsored by South Aus hahaha.

Yea, the photos they used in the UTAS brochure was enough for me to go 'wow'. However I overlooked how cold it was. And the uni fees biggrin.gif
Then my parents saw unis in WA and were like eh cheaper! Plane ticket also cheaper haha.

Would it fall under the engineer category? If so it might take a while lah, but don't despair. I think a lot of people here have had success so keep fingers crossed!

At the time I was doing my assessment it was less, but by the time I applied I had racked up about 7 years as opposed to 5 years of job experience haha.

There was something else, I can't remember. The initial meet up with the agent was in September 2013. I took my time also. Told them I wasn't in a rush. Turned out to be a good thing for me, as I was initially told that my SOL was on NSW's list; NSW was only doing paper applications (damn old skool) until recently.

Lucky for me SA opened up, and with less issues and all paperless. Too easy smile.gif

Yea coz the other states required proof of finances- bank statements etc. SA didn't hahaha. Which was GOOD! So even though some silly lady in VETASSESS messed up my assessment the first time, it was a blessing in disguise.

migration agents are high class runners laugh.gif

you can do everything yourself if:
1. you have time
2. you have done enough research
3. your application is straight forward (e.g. no criminal records, etc)

but if you are willing to pay to save the hassle, just ensure the agents are legit
