i was contemplating between IELTS and PTE...
i took a chance at IELTS first, got the minimum 6.0 in all modules, didn't bother to retake since i don't need the points laugh.gif
but i heard the PTE speaking is not easy since you are talking to the computer laugh.gif

I took IELTS twice, didn't get what i wanted due to the speaking.
Tried PTE the first time, and my speaking is the highest at 90!
Maybe cause i'm antisocial and i only talk better towards the computer hmm.gif

Hi you guys, i've actually had the thought of applying for the 189 visa/pr at the beginning of the year but then i sorta wanted to give it a real go working here in msia...so the desire sorta died down towards the middle of the year...but its life and shit happens... i am at the point where i really dont think I can stand working here anymore... plus family have been urging me to migrate to aussie.

so, I was wondering those here who have engaged migration agents, please could you recommend a good one ?

I've seen the list of AU GOV approved list of migration agents be even after some googling, some of them has some bad records. Also wondering if any agents would refund if the application is not successful ?

I used to engaged with Global Migration Solutions 8 years ago. But my visa type was cancelled by the government and GMS cuci tangan and say not their fault. So all migration fees forfeited.
The agent will only refund you the 'agent fee' if they make a mistake during the application. If your application has a mistake that DIBP cannot accept and reject, your immigration fees will be forfeited.

You can apply on your own without agent. It is abit of a hassle yes. But when you engage an agent, you still have to prepare the documents, contact your ex-company, book your own english exam. What agents do is proof read, make sure your timeline is correct and make you apply properly.

I also engaged with GMS and manage to obtain my PR couple of months ago. Although i engaged with an agent, I still constantly check with them on my status and read up on the rules changes. Cause these agents have plenty of clients so we have to ensure that our applications are moving along and not be left behind.
For me, my skill set was in the consolidated list so i needed a state to sponsor my skill set before being invited to apply for PR once I meet the requirements. I even consulted a second agent opinion early this year as I was unsure if I should renew my documents as they are expiring May 2016. I just didn't want to spend extra money to get my documents renewed as the second agent mentioned that GMS should not even taken up my case as my skill set was not in demand.
But I was lucky cause at that time NSW was sponsoring ppl with high points, I had 70 points with state sponsor. After that the process went by pretty quickly and smoothly.

Are you there already? Have you found a job?
I just got my grant, and now updating my resume. Wondering how tough it will be to get a job there.

Wow, what do you mean by 'cancelled'? What happened? Re classified?

Sorry for late reply, cool2.gif

8 years ago, i applied for 176 visa family sponsored visa. That time their system is different from the current one.
Depending on points, you will be placed in groups 1-5, where 1 is highest priority and 5 being the crappiest, group ever.

Due to my eagerness to apply as fast as possible and lack of advice from my agent, i applied with insufficient points and was in Group 5.

Years and years of waiting, till last September 2015, one Senator pandai pandai group cancelled thousands of applications.

Nope, still in Malaysia. Only planning to make the big move in 2018.
The market has been slow. You just have to be patient and keep applying for jobs.
When are you planning to move over?
