How does it feel to live in a Malay family? Do they have a lot of strict regulations? I had a very bad experience previously when rent and staying with a family, such as no shower sounds during late night,...
Is Malay family in Sg more tolerate ?

Just no pork(eat/store in fridge). They are super tolerant - like no restriction of late back. The wife works night shift so basically she just sleep on daytime. But most of the time I find the daughter is alone in house. Quite surprise to find out the ex-tenant is a male. Culture shock to sg i guess.

P.S. the landlord even help me cleaning the fan icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi sifu sifu out there, just wanna ask something regarding employment pass.
I recently got offered a job in the banking industry and they help me apply for E-Pass. I was wondering how long will it take for the #-pass to be approve since i can't work in SG without it.

Did u apply via jobstreet? If not wat job site u use?

The owner is a couple, his gf complaint to him the water sound wakes her up in the middle of the night. For a working person like me, go home late due to closing account every end of the month is unavoidable. Too many problems to live in a house with the presence if woman. Sorry with no offence.

I will move in to Singapore in 1st July 2016. I had contacted with the agent thru whatsapp. The agent saw the message but no reply. I wonder will the agent entertain me if only I called them or the time I enter Singapore (I am still in M'sia now), OR because I mentioned I prefer no agent fees applied, any idea ?

P/S: My budget should be no problem, $500 for single room.

500 normally for maid room

there are 2 type of agent, landlord agent and tenant agent,

if u engage them, means they r tenant agent , will help u find room, but u need to pay them commission

if u saw some advertisement that rooms are available from some agent, most prob they r landlord agent, means they will get commision from the owner if they are able to sublet the room out, this you no need to pay commission to them, coz the houseowner will pay them, they are not allowed to get 2 commission at same time

however, most of the time, the landlord and tenant agent will work together, landlord agent will contact another tenant agent, so that the tenant agent will get commission from potential tenant.

Actually, I get the contact from the PropertyGuru. So, I think they are supposedly landlord agent. Furthermore, the rental is also same with the advertisement they posed. So, I wonder they may only wish to entertain me whenever I reach Singapore. What else can I do ?

if tats the case, yes, most prop they r landlord agent

but like i say, they might also helping other tenant agent to close the case, one stone killing 2 birds, especially when the price is good , the other agent might get tenant easily , so why should they entertain you brows.gif

Is your whatsapp acc msia number? I got zero reply too when using msia number. Then I use sg number text them, call me back straight away biggrin.gif. I guess they focus on more likely deals rather than random enquiries? *show your seriousness*

Prob because of the number of FFK cases from foreign numbers

A few months back I shared my agent's contact with someone here
Agent told me the guy contacted him, agent arranged some places for him to look at, the dates kept getting pushed back and eventually it went silent

i think u will need a hp no. eventually coz u cant get ur telco corporate plan without ur employment pass, this process of getting ur employment pass may take up to 2 to 3 weeks,

easier just buy a prepaid no to use in sg, a photocopy of ur passport enough to activate the prepaid and quite cheap oso , when u got ur telco plan, just discard the prepaid loh

You can only get corporate telco package with valid work pass, and within that period where'd you stayed? Aiyo just get a SIM card with some credit inside lar, around $10 is more than enough for you to call/text for accommodation.
