Should i do a calculation? Maybe a bit could help.

Basic 1k (26xrm38.48, pay by day)
Add on minyak moto allowence rm50
Overtime sometimes have sometimes dun have.
Restday sometimes can work, sometimes cannot.
Get advance on 20hb every month rm200
Gross salary cincai rm1100
Minus rm200 advance, minus epf socso rm70-100
Net salary, rm800-900.

Palm oil mill. General worker. Lowest level.
Wan buy 2nd car sometimes also difficult. But have proton wira buy cash.
Eventho im not married yet, well, also hve commitment for helping family. Idk lah bro. 4 years i live with this kind of work. Had continue study before, but family cond making me and all members suffer bcs that time only my fathers work and only him have to support 6 ppl (mom, me and other 4 sibling) with that kind of salary. I cant think abt study and just failed and come back home to work and reduce burden. Idk lah bro. Sometime im envy with ppl who hve a good salary. I wish i hve a good pay too. But ppl only with spm sure gonna have a bad time to find a good work with a good salary. Exp without cert is hard you know.

Leave the factory job, apply F&b/Retail job.
Uniqlo pay basic RM2000, but make sure when you apply, you must look nice. Other than that, try apply Padini, basic around RM1100 something if i'm not mistaken but you will get commission based on how many clothes that sold every month.
F&B like Sushi Zanmai, Sushi King, Madam Kwan, Starbucks, and others, u can get high salary and more than that especially if you do OT. But try to avoid KFC, Mcd. Not worth.
But need to sacrifice the weekend.

These 2 fields are the only field that you can earn decent salary.

Job Title : Aircraft Maintenance Technician
Job Desciption : Anything related to technical job on the aircraft
Years spent in company : 5 years
Company : Malaysia Airlines Berhad
Industry : Aviation
Tenure : Permanent
Employment Level : Lowest in the engineering department
Experience before joining : 0
Highest paper qualification/ education background : SPM
salary : RM 2,899 (not inclusive of OT)
Location: KK

Just wanted to put it out there, that working with an airline does not necessarily mean you will get high wages. Even engineers would get a starting salary of around RM5k++ right now. Right now, even wanting to get a personal loan of 10k is quite impossible (last I checked was February this year) due to the current status of the company and the circular from BNM (according to what the employee told me) that restricts anyone from our company to be given a loan.

The reason why i went to another engineering industry. Now im employed as a fresh grad engineer with salary close to 3k(not including allowance). Last drawn salary as aircraft technician was 2k for close to 8 month experience. Btw i studied untill degree in aircraft engineering. Sudah lari bidang, what to do, cannot survive with aircraft technician salary.

Yup, aviation industry in Malaysia actually pays below the average of the global industry standard. An engineer with a 20+ years of experience in South Korea is paid around 20k USD/month, while the same engineer in our own soil would get not even half of it.

There are a lot of us that are not satisfied with the current salary, but no choice. Circumstances prevents a lot of us to actually venture out of our own field. sad.gif

Actually to earn more in this industry you have to get out of Malaysia, hence was thinking of EASA.

The thing is, Cert is still important as the deciding factors comes from Employers (they are the decision makers). Unless, the skills are applied in Entrepreneurship. I have seen many cases for those without certs or just diploma, they actually perform better than Degree graduate. However, their pay is limited by the scale / system hence no way for them to grow further till they advanced the studies. Cruel but real in many MNCs.  blush.gif

Yes in MNCs most of time those are still needed, not to proof the employee is of capable, but just for sake of papers compliance. Sounds pathetic rite.

Yeaps but most MNCs are cool with the results even a person didn't perform well in SPM, probably they just want to validate.

Not to say SPM but related Degree certification is usually sought, as assurance to the company and proof that you can contribute professionally and add values. After you got the entry ticket, the rests is by experience talks.

Hi all, need some advice from all of you. I am working as a IT Programmer

Currently I have about 4 years working experience and my current salary is about 5k.

I just joined a new company recently for few months but the job description is different than what I was told during interview. So far I got few job offers.

So my question here is that how much % of increment should I ask? Is 20% reasonable?

I could try asking for that if that's reasonable but I was holding up since I just joined a new company for few months only. So far one company did offered me 20% but I rejected it due to the company has a bad reputation.

Need to look into T-Comp (Total Compensation that includes fixed salary, allowance, bonus) so that it is competitive package per annum.

I agree. Look at overall package and weigh from there. Good luck!

Usually bonus is kinda like performance bonus so it's hard to know how much.

If let's say no allowance, how many % should I expect?
