Nope. The signal penetration of 5Ghz is much weaker. smile.gif

In terms of speed stability, yes. Penetration power, no.

Advantages of 5GHz:

The 5GHz band is less likely to be congested. The 2.4GHz frequency range is much more prone to interference, as it is commonly used by other wireless networks in the area, as well as cordless phones, garage door openers and other home appliances and consumer products.

Disadvantages of 5GHz:

In general, the higher the frequency of a wireless signal, the shorter its range. Thus, 2.4GHz networks cover a substantially larger range than 5GHz wireless networks. In particular, the higher frequency wireless signals of 5GHz networks do not penetrate solid objects nearly as well as 2.4GHz signals, limiting their reach inside homes.

After they check, confirmed the crappy motorola cordless phone spoilt after 4 years+ of usage

Oh... Do you need to fork out own money to buy a new set and pay for RM50 onsite support fee?

The TM tech has called me today, he suspects the power adaptor issue. Anyway, he will come to my house tomorrow and have a look on it.

Hmmm... It depends I think...

During my previous onsite support on Wifi issue, TM sent me a RM 0 bill via email.

Hopefully tomorrow's onsite support on dect phone will be RM 0 bill as well.

When did you apply the upgrade? How long it takes until you receive the SMS notification?

On monday, Telemarketer offering me upgrade from vip10 to 30mbps with maintaining free voice call. I add on ruby rm10.
Pre launching day i have rejected their offer & they look like have been calling me since last week refer back to the miss call number log.

But i saw activation date and time stated in myservice log in ocs. Well stated there 10 pm only activated but i will test it out once i reach home.

If you upgrade to new 30mb adv or w/e package, your contract renew for 2 years and all your equipment automatically renew warranty for 1 year.

So since you upgraded and your dect phone spoilt , they should exchange it free of charge for you, why he ask rm74 ?

That was my personal experience last week at Tmpoint when i tried to upgrade, all i have to do was fill up form( faulty product claim..or something like that dont remember form name)

but...

my hppytv box set is 1st generation 4 years old , laggy response , suka suka hang.. but since still works not consider faulty .. can't exhange lol. dect phone battery nyawa nyawa ikan .. use for abit..died.. must recharge.. consider not faulty..cant exchange lol.. router kaput.. i bought new rm2xx router...CAN EXCHANGE doh.gif as long as i give them my new router in exchange for their stock router... wtf lol ..... so i say nevermind la.. i terminate .. better.

I've been paying rm199 for 10mb no hppytv package for 4 years... now i find out ppl been paying rm179 for 10mb..rm199 with hppytv package..zzz ..here i thought everyone pay same price .. vmad.gif.Just saw a relative bill, he been paying rm169 (10mb) +RM50(mega pack).. rclxub.gif

Maybe in 1 -2 week i will apply for 30mb get all new equipment since no maxis or time in my area.. or wait till i die off old man for republic to enter malaysia.

just done my relocation yesterday.was thinking to terminate but, alas, my new place don;t have time fiber as like my previous place did.

i need more upstream speed and the new package is a real turn off.
looks like i need to keep my current vip10(169 per month ex gst) for foreseeable future
or just change to maxis as they still offer symmetrical speed.

if they just offer half the upload speed..haiz..

Good payment record? Have you ever had more than 2 months outstanding?

In any case, my sources indicate that if you can wait until near the end of the year or early next year, there will be yet another adjustment, maybe not in price, but more added value with more addons. Mostly likely free calls will be bundled in again, and an improved HyppTV offering.

Also a chance of an Advance 20/5 Plan.
