Usually affin bank FD requires a SA. Open account just need rm100. After that you can just keep rm20 inside there. smile.gif

Affin CASA RM1 balance also can smile.gif

Alliance Bank 6 months 4.25%
9 months 4.35%

Thanks !  notworthy.gif

Affin has made the FD war more intense with this 15 mth 4.6% rate ! I will go for this next week !  rclxms.gif
Last Thursday, have placed for RHB 3 mth at 4.2%. Don't think they changed it to 4.25%.  biggrin.gif

The 15 mth one as sandkoh said is a step-up with effective rate of 4.4%.  biggrin.gif

From the first page, RHB seems to offer highest short term FD promo now.

Btw, for you guys that always chase after this promo and shifting funds between banks means you guys probably maintain CASA everywhere but just move the funds around (which then still consider as fresh fund?)

Highly doubt they will push beyond 4.6%. If they push beyond that, MBSB will have to come out with something attractive.

A question for those familiar or existing OCBC account holder, can FD being withdrawn cross branches?
and if can, is there any limit?

New to OCBC.

Reason, attracted by the 4.5% FD.  tongue.gif
*
Ocbc does not allow to do that

Ok, just came back from my Ambank "expedition".  biggrin.gif

As mentioned by our forumers, Ambank have no problems mixing cheque and matured FD. It was smooth-sailing all the way. Went there with my cheque. Told them I want to uplift my FD and put in new promotion FD together with the cheque. They said ok, processed it and settled quickly. Took the 2 years 4.6% as I don't want to play musical chair.  blush.gif

I did ask them how much do Ambank accept as top-up to consider old fund as "fresh fund". The lady said they usually accept if the top-up is 20% or more of the existing fund.

I have overlooked my HL FD on maturity date by a few days. Went to HL to terminate FD because it was renewed to board rate. The counter officer asked why withdrawal....told her Ocbc 12 months 4.5%. She said if I can top up a little bit, she can change my FD from board rate to 12 months promo rate of 4.2%. Wow, HL is very flexible on fresh fund. Told her no...Still prefer Ocbc even though didn't see leng lui there

Young man tongue.gif , leng lui is just tidbits/desserts. Not the main course. FD is the main course. biggrin.gif

So when OCBC offered 4.5%, I went there. Now Affin has 4.6%, I am going to Affin next Monday. rclxm9.gif

My thinking is not to place too much short term FD while waiting for the rates to fly. Unless there is OPR review soon. We may lose out on the interest with eggs in short term nominal rates (esp 1 month FD). Unless we go for say 3 mth or 6 mth higher promo rates. biggrin.gif
