Ok, just came back from my Ambank "expedition". biggrin.gif

As mentioned by our forumers, Ambank have no problems mixing cheque and matured FD. It was smooth-sailing all the way. Went there with my cheque. Told them I want to uplift my FD and put in new promotion FD together with the cheque. They said ok, processed it and settled quickly. Took the 2 years 4.6% as I don't want to play musical chair. blush.gif

I did ask them how much do Ambank accept as top-up to consider old fund as "fresh fund". The lady said they usually accept if the top-up is 20% or more of the existing fund.

Really interested with this.

If you have no account with Affin, they require you to open a saving account with them too right?

Does this need any other money in CASA?
??!!

Maybank best for 1 month efd. Their Islamic efd gives 3.25%. The highest for one month efd. But it needs min rm5k.

If you don't have rm5k, can try ambank Islamic efd 1 month
3.15%. Minimum rm1k thumbup.gif

No differnece. Nama saja beza. Differnece only in interest of 0.1% biggrin.gif. No problem. Islamic FD means they don't invest in anything haram. But me is name only la. FD is FD. You want to call it what also end of the day is STILL FD.

When you place online, pick Islamic fixed deposit. Don't pick anything else. There will be a colum to pick Islamic fixed deposit in m2u (when you are placing FD online)

A question for those familiar or existing OCBC account holder, can FD being withdrawn cross branches?
and if can, is there any limit?

New to OCBC.

Reason, attracted by the 4.5% FD. tongue.gif

Not sure about that.
Best way is to perform online withdrawal if you have an online account - no limit.

If placed the FD OTC previously, then you can only withdraw it OTC.
Online FD withdrawal is only for online FD placement at board rate.

Thanks for the info.

Convenience is one of factor to consider.
0.1% difference only worth a couple of ten RM pa, which if taking in petrol, toll fee, not much difference already.

Usually affin bank FD requires a SA. Open account just need rm100. After that you can just keep rm20 inside there. smile.gif

I saw in the online OCBC account that it showed "Withdrawal" function for FD's. I have FD placed OTC. So can still withdraw through that function ? Did not dare to click the "Withdrawal", just saw that and can select which FD cert to withdraw.

UOB allow us to terminate FD placed OTC using the online account. biggrin.gif

Last Thursday, have placed for RHB 3 mth at 4.2%. Don't think they changed it to 4.25%. biggrin.gif

The 15 mth one as sandkoh said is a step-up with effective rate of 4.4%. biggrin.gif
