Glenmari told me complete job will take about a week. I'm going in on the 23rd.March. Family got spare cars, so more convenient for me to leave my car there and get it all done at one go!

Btw do they check on service record or was any questions asked?
Well done, good price. Very good start! Keep to timely maintenance schedules and you're going to love this Lion! thumbup.gif

Thanks SKYjack! Good to know! smile.gif

Btw, how often do you change your coolant? And what brand are you using?

On another note, yesterday when i had my car diagnosed, engineer showed me there are carbon build up on the results. I am thinking decarbonizing should be done since the mileage will be about 42k on the next service. Any advice should i go for it if i have the budget? Any of u guys done it before?

Thanks.

Thanks.

erm.. maybe i used to service my car at geot auto so i ask CLIC to make appointment for me at geot auto / glenmarie.
They did ask much question also .. just get my car number and my contact, and they will tell what need to be replace in this program then make an appointment. wala~ wait till your date and your service begin .. rclxms.gif

Should not be a problem. Although I don't know how busy Desa Pandan SC is. You might have to wait a bit longer if you did not make an appointment.

Why don't you service at an independent Peugeot workshop, price will be lower. I now pay $200 for service  as opposed to $480 at authorized SC. Further more I now use Mobil 1, previously use to be PETRONAS.

Coolant change is one every 3 years. Had it changed last year with major service, can't remember brand.

Your engine is EP6CDT - 156hp/240nm. These engines are noted for premature carbon buildup. If there is no running issue, do the decarb at next service.

Our engine is EP6CDTM - 163/240nm. This engine carries 8 mods addressing reliability issues. Pistons on this engine has been modified to handle this premature carbon buildup, apart from other improvements! Engine was bench tested to 60K km without any carbon buildup. Some of our bros have crossed 80k km already, still going strong!

I'm interested to buy 408 but I have few questions would like to know before I make decision, hope any1 of u can advise.

1) Any frequent  or major problem in 408?
2) Is maintenance cost high?
3) If work place travel between cheras to damansara, is it recommended one of city drive car?

Thanks.

1. No major issues. I'm one of the early owners. Some minor issues, all issues have been fixed on warranty. Mine is 4 years old now, engine sounds sweet and gb silky smooth. Very important to note, none of the issues have reoccured. On top of that, Peugeot has come up with sevice enhancement package, this will only further improve this cars already high reliablty!
2. Maintenace cost under $500 , each normal service.
3. Good all round car. Reliable for daily commute, comfortable & sprited drive for long distance!

Let me also give a small advice, my 2cents worth. This is a relatively high performance car. As such wear & tear will be higher than a normally aspritated model. On the long run, maintenance cost will add up. Something you should consider carefully. Anyway, more and more OEM parts are now coming into existance, this helps keep cost to a reasonable level.
If you are not prepared for this, then it is better to go for a Jap model.Long term maintenance will be lower than this car.

However if you want a reliable , efficient, spritted car to enjoy driving, this is the perfect car for you.

Yes the Fiesta being smaller will certainly be easier for ladies to handle, especially parking. Fiesta is a nice car but I would keep away from the powershit models. These may be heavily discounted. Owners claim the powrshift gb is a nightmare, problem even after replacement. I believe Ford has dropped the powershift on it's new models.

I don't think you'll have a problem. My car beginning 5th year this June and have already got a date for enhancement package. Email CLIC and they'll get back to you. But have to be patient, they are very busy applying this package .

This enhancement package is a Peugeot effort, not warranty claim.

Those dry dual clutch is really problematic, for fiesta/focus, beginning is ok, few months later u will feel the jerk when pick up, it may become so bad like a newbie driving manual, doesn't know how to control clutch. Even after replacement, it will be good for months before the problem returns.

Good to hear that, I thought of having it done together with next service, will ask CLIC for that to be arranged.

'A newbie driving a manual'..... that is the perfect description of the jerks on Fords. As you said, can't get rid of that hantu, just keeps returning. One guy in the forum said he changed the clutch pack 4 times already... omg! Quite number of owners are so fed up that if it fails again, they have decided to sell the car. It is sooooo good to have a smooth and trouble free gb in our car whistling.gif

Ya if you intend to have the enhancement package done with your next service, you should email CLIC right away and also tell them your preference. As long as you give them sufficient time, they can accommodate.

On a friendly note: As RON 97 is now $1.95, I've been treating my Lion to BHP 97. Wow.....it's like 10 extra horses appeared under the hood from no where. The engine seems smoother and certainly better acceleration. I did not take account, but feel improved fc also! rclxm9.gif

One month into getting a used 408 (3.5 years), A/C is blowing hot air already.
Went to external pug workshop, was quoted around 3k for compressor+condenser. He says it's important to change condenser together with compressor. Is this true?

Decided to go to Glenmarie to claim extended warranty, was told that I needed to get original owner's signature. Otherwise I would have to pay 5k upfront.

I didn't expect it to happen so soon sad.gif

Go to other aircond shop....the compressor can be repair by changing the internal bearing.... unless compressor fully damaged internally.......not necessary to change the condensor unless no maintenance done before...."changing compressor oil"
What is the mileage

64k at the moment.
Where do you recommend I go to? I'm just afraid that they'll just push a new compressor to me.

408 is certainly more reliable then Fiesta. 40k is low mileage and very good price for 2013 model! I guess this is the 408NA.

Warranty is transferable. You should have warranty booklet where your personal details filled and have it endorsed at Naza. You might have to go to their main branch along Federal hwy. I think it's Jalan 222. If warranty booklet is missing, no problem. Get a new one from Naza.

Congrats bro!
