2014 till facelift ,3008 shared the same engine with 408t - EP6CDTM
Now all facelift 1.6thp Pugs - EP6FDTM

Both these engines would have the same normal & major service cost. EP6FDTM is further refined on EP6CDTM's high reliability.

In 2012, I was very keen on the 3008,but found only 408 offered EP6CDTM. From my research then itself i understood the mods made on this Prince will render it reliable. I mean I went down to design details, like eg what effect the redesigned pistons had on premature carbon deposits! Carbon deposits were a huge problem with all direct injection engines. Early Prince suffered considerable reliability issues. Total of 8mods on this engine improved reliability!

After 4 years,pleased to say, I was not wrong! Still enjoying my Lion! Get the 3008, you'll thoroughly enjoy it.

Yes major service on Contis is high. Major service is at the end of 3rd year, so its not a yearly expense. At this service all fluids and some essential engine parts are changed, hence the high price. It is essential,cos the THP is a high performance engine. There's greater wear & tear on performance machines than a NA. After major service was done on my engine, it has an amazing, like new feel. I was absolutely overjoyed to have my engine running so crisp, even after 3years!

Water pumps & turbo were a problem on early 3008s. Turbo units are redesigned, water pump is on the recall list presently. I believe that problem is also solved.

BTW, I test drove BMW X1. To my surprise it did not handle corners as well as the 3008. 3008s body roll at corners was very well controlled.

Just collected my car from Glenmarie for replacement of aircon compressor, aircon blower and done 60k service.. Now everything is normal and the car is roaring like it should

Later gonna replace all 4 MC5 to Hankook S1 Noble 2..

Update on the tires: 1st impression very good, very comfortable, way better than MC5 and it is quiet..  Will update once running more mileage on it but I would recommend it over MC5

New compressor, under warranty claim.. Else I'm gonna cry..

I got no warranty so I go either SC or Puru workshop in shah alam if I cannot get appt

As the enhancement package is for the 1.6THP engines, your 2012 year model should also be included in the list. Email CLIC, they'll give you a positive answer. Priority is on 508 & 308,got to be a little patient with your vehicle.

Since mine is 408, appointment date for enhancement package is 2 months.
I have 4 items on mine. Breather hose left out on mine. Did they give you an appointment date. Make sure to get appointment reference number!

Peugeot QC would have identified manufacturing defects on certain batches of each component. Huge company like Peugeot would have out sourced to several manufacturing vendors.  QC has traced the vehicles these parts are fitted and formed the recall list. So guys don't worry if you have less recall items. It simply means you have less defective parts on your car!

I must also qualify the word 'defective parts'. It means, parts not made to Peugeot standards. It does not mean these parts will fail. Sorry for using the exact words as in my line of work. Don't want to alert a panic!

Hey guys, my 408 turbo 1 year old recently its air-cond is malfunctioning, the symptoms are as below:

1. Start the car, turn on the air-cond, got fan but no cold air, drive a few km cold air suddenly comes out.
2. Start the car, turn on the air-cond, got cold air, but after few minutes no more cold air then after few restart of the air cond, the cold air comes back.

However, it happens randomly, what could be the cause and how do i explain to SC if the problem happens randomly.

Service record is only essential to keep warranty valid, so that claims can be made. I think your warranty is void, right? In such case keeping record is only for personnel preference. I like to keep a record, so I get the independent workshop to endorse the record book.

Tesco often has fully synthetic engine oil on sale at $129. Oil filter is $45 from spare parts shop. Service charge at independent workshops is $80. All done for $254 to be exact. Any known brand oil is fine, make sure spec: 5w-30 or 5w-40.
This is common problem, it's a defective compressor internal bearing. SC are well aware of it. The actual job only takes about an hour, but depends on how busy the SC is. Mine took about 4 hrs.

Glenmari told me complete job will take about a week. I'm going in on the 23rd.March. Family got spare cars, so more convenient for me to leave my car there and get it all done at one go!

I do believe in preventive maintenance. But I doubt additive will sufficiently clean the valves. For our engine a decarbo at 100Kkm would be better. Below are photos on the backside of cylinder head valves.

Photo 1. Carbon build up at 70Kkm,considered not serious. The engine continued to perform as normal.

Cost of decabo: $380. On your engine I recommend decarbo done every 20kkm.

1. Most probably a pully. Timing chain defects would cause  rattling sound.
2. Around  $2500

Problem 1 could be caused by careless work during enhancements. Timing chain should have been checked for condition and tensioner changed.

Good idea to check with a pug specialist.
