Dear guys,
I can't seem to find any Pug 3008 club in LYN forum. May i know if u guys can share the normal and major service for pug 3008 or similar?
I am considering to purchase one if the service price is affordable. Thanks.

QUOTE(SKYjack @ Feb 11 2016, 05:53 PM) 2014 till facelift ,3008 shared the same engine with 408t - EP6CDTM Now all facelift 1.6thp Pugs - EP6FDTM Both these engines would have the same normal & major service cost. EP6FDTM is further refined on EP6CDTM's high reliability. In 2012, I was very keen on the 3008,but found only 408 offered EP6CDTM. From my research then itself i understood the mods made on this Prince will render it reliable. I mean I went down to design details, like eg what effect the redesigned pistons had on premature carbon deposits! Carbon deposits were a huge problem with all direct injection engines. Early Prince suffered considerable reliability issues. Total of 8mods on this engine improved reliability! After 4 years, pleased to say, I was not wrong! Still enjoying my Lion! Get the 3008, you'll thoroughly enjoy it. Thanks for sharing your experience. I called the service centre yesterday and inquired on the service. The technician did share that normal service is around rm510 but the major service is around rm1.8k. Major service is quite high for me but understood euro cars are expensive in maintenance. Is it true usually the water pumps and the turbo is the usual culprits when it comes to issues on the pug 3008? Hope for your kind advice. Thanks.

QUOTE(SKYjack @ Feb 12 2016, 11:05 PM) Yes major service on Contis is high. Major service is at the end of 3rd year, so its not a yearly expense. At this service all fluids and some essential engine parts are changed, hence the high price. It is essential, cos the THP is a high performance engine. There's greater wear & tear on performance machines than a NA. After major service was done on my engine, it has an amazing, like new feel. I was absolutely overjoyed to have my engine running so crisp, even after 3years! Water pumps & turbo were a problem on early 3008s. Turbo units are redesigned, water pump is on the recall list presently. I believe that problem is also solved. BTW, I test drove BMW X1. To my surprise it did not handle corners as well as the 3008. 3008s body roll at corners was very well controlled. Thanks @SKYjack for your elaborate yet easy to understand explanation and by sharing your experience. Appreciate it!

Wow.. This group is quite active.. Cool!
I am now.seriously considering purchasing a 3008. But can only afford a used one, model year 2010-2012 (which is in my budget).
Will test drive a few maybe this weekend. Hopefully my 3008 used car purchase will be good to me and my pocket. Haha.
Anything for me to lookout for when inspecting the 3008? Any tips?
Thanks.

QUOTE(SKYjack @ Feb 24 2016, 09:35 AM) As the enhancement package is for the 1.6THP engines, your 2012 year model should also be included in the list. Email CLIC, they'll give you a positive answer. Priority is on 508 & 308,got to be a little patient with your vehicle. Since mine is 408, appointment date for enhancement package is 2 months. I have 4 items on mine. Breather hose left out on mine. Did they give you an appointment date. Make sure to get appointment reference number! Peugeot QC would have identified manufacturing defects on certain batches of each component. Huge company like Peugeot would have out sourced to several manufacturing vendors. QC has traced the vehicles these parts are fitted and formed the recall list. So guys don't worry if you have less recall items. It simply means you have less defective parts on your car! I must also qualify the word 'defective parts'. It means, parts not made to Peugeot standards. It does not mean these parts will fail. Sorry for using the exact words as in my line of work. Don't want to alert a panic! Thanks SKYjack for the info. I have emailed CLIC regarding this. Now keeping my fingers crossed.

QUOTE(djboycalvin @ Feb 25 2016, 10:02 PM) I able to get below claim : 1.   Timing 2.   Breather hose – Labour 3.  Temperature Sensor 4.  Turbo Electric Coolant Pump Same here... But how does this work? Shall we walk in into any service center from here? And i can also see the is "Labour" on item number "2". Does this meant there will be charges for that? Previous owner did in Geot Auto SC but i think would like to do it at Desa Pandan SC since abit near to my home. Is it ok for me to just walk in? Hopefully their service and customer support are ok there..

I see.. I am also thinking to do it at an independent Peugeot SC. But just concerned if i go to them, then how about the peugeot service record book? Or it doesn't matter? But rm200 service is cool on our wallets yo!

QUOTE(Kananana @ Feb 29 2016, 01:24 AM) Hey guys, my 408 turbo 1 year old recently its air-cond is malfunctioning, the symptoms are as below: 1. Start the car, turn on the air-cond, got fan but no cold air, drive a few km cold air suddenly comes out. 2. Start the car, turn on the air-cond, got cold air, but after few minutes no more cold air then after few restart of the air cond, the cold air comes back. However, it happens randomly, what could be the cause and how do i explain to SC if the problem happens randomly. Thank you Hi Bro, Sorry to hear that happening to your new baby. But i think it is best to share this with the technician in SC (which you regularly see) as per what you have explained here and get it diagnosed first thing. Well, that is what one of the Peugeot technicians told me before i even bought my 3008 last week..

QUOTE(SKYjack @ Feb 29 2016, 06:40 PM) Service record is only essential to keep warranty valid, so that claims can be made. I think your warranty is void, right? In such case keeping record is only for personnel preference. I like to keep a record, so I get the independent workshop to endorse the record book. Tesco often has fully synthetic engine oil on sale at $129. Oil filter is $45 from spare parts shop. Service charge at independent workshops is $80. All done for $254 to be exact. Any known brand oil is fine, make sure spec: 5w-30 or 5w-40. This is common problem, it's a defective compressor internal bearing. SC are well aware of it. The actual job only takes about an hour, but depends on how busy the SC is. Mine took about 4 hrs. Thumbs up to SKYjack for sharing and advice! Thank you! QUOTE(SKYjack @ Mar 1 2016, 10:46 PM) Glenmari told me complete job will take about a week. I'm going in on the 23rd.March. Family got spare cars, so more convenient for me to leave my car there and get it all done at one go! Btw do they check on service record or was any questions asked? Well done, good price. Very good start! Keep to timely maintenance schedules and you're going to love this Lion! Thanks SKYjack! Good to know! Btw, how often do you change your coolant? And what brand are you using? On another note, yesterday when i had my car diagnosed, engineer showed me there are carbon build up on the results. I am thinking decarbonizing should be done since the mileage will be about 42k on the next service. Any advice should i go for it if i have the budget? Any of u guys done it before? Thanks. Thanks.

QUOTE(SKYjack @ Jun 12 2016, 10:52 AM) I do believe in preventive maintenance. But I doubt additive will sufficiently clean the valves. For our engine a decarbo at 100Kkm would be better. Below are photos on the backside of cylinder head valves. Photo 1. Carbon build up at 70Kkm,considered not serious. The engine continued to perform as normal. Photo 2. Carbon cleared after decarbo. Can share where u guys did the decarbo and how about their services? Can get below rm1k for the decarbo service? On another note, 1. I am using a Pug 3008 year 2012. Seems when i start my engine abit of screeching sound. Not sure is it the timing chain or something else. Might bring to Pug specialist sometime next week or before raya. 2. I think my A/C compressor is also giving our some "sounds" . Any of u can share approx how much does a new compressor costs and its labor charges? Note: The funny thing is all of this happens after i send for parts recall at Peugeot SC in GeotAuto PJ. But no more warranty so might need to have it checked with my Pug Specialist on my own.

QUOTE(SKYjack @ Jun 13 2016, 12:47 AM) http://www.vagtechnik.com.my/Cost of decabo: $380. On your engine I recommend decarbo done every 20kkm. 1. Most probably a pully. Timing chain defects would cause rattling sound. 2. Around $2500 Problem 1 could be caused by careless work during enhancements. Timing chain should have been checked for condition and tensioner changed. Good idea to check with a pug specialist. Thanks SKYjack. But for item number two. Can cost up to rm2.5k is it. Hmm..
