Does anyone know of a good SC around the Puchong, Putrajaya, or Cyberjaya area? I'm 300 km from my first 1000 km service. I don't want to have to leave my car for a whole day. I used to have a Myvi and I remember my services could be completed in around two or three hours. Is this possible too with Proton?

I've heard a few Iriz owners saying that they've had to leave their cars for two days for simple little things. I have no complaints, sounds, rattles or anything but I want to take it for service soon and not end up without a car for a few days.

Try calling the SC for service booking.
If you book a timeslot beforehand, they will complete your car in less than 3 hours. Did my 1K at PJ 227 there, Mine took right about 2 hours to complete, from handover, to waiting, to collecting the car.

mine has. Will make booking with SC and get everything done soon.
Those are parts of what Proton CTO told us(PICM) during the talk with Proton CTO.
Proton tries to ensure that during an accident even if car rolls, doors can be open. Therefore if you are trying to check on someone driving preve, suprima or iriz after an accident, try the doors. Dont forget that doors auto unlock during an accident.
Most of the Iriz takes tech from US and Germany. See here.
Proton has stopped following Japanese standards but switch to following German standards in terms of car safety, features and behaviors.

The talk by Proton CTO is still in this forum as a youtube link if you wanna watch. Search my posts around 12/9.

do you guys inflate all 4 tyres evenly or front higher than rear?

e.g. 220kpa for all 4 wheels vs 220kpa for front & 210kpa for rear.

great minds think alike  tongue.gif Maybe can follow bro adijib's reply below. 220.

btw you did 1k service already?
Why when wanna go outstation or heavy rain set at 210 and other times 220? Idk about all these tyre pressure stuffs.

My basic understanding of tyre pressure is (do share knowledge & correct me if wrong):

1) Higher tyre pressure = will give better FC but ride will be bumpier?
2) pump tyres when car haven't travel around? If car traveled quite some distance, must increase by how much kpa/psi over the usual?
*
I am made to understand loooong time ago that long distance travel will cause the tyres to inflate due to heat -> pressure increase. Thus to give room for the tyres. Whereas for heavy rain, of course for more grip.

i first day of driving itself already dashboard rattle. I guess it affects 90% of Iriz and the other 10% are lucky people like bro cwkc93.

My 4x4 bolts all no rust though. But that 1 u can go SC change it.
*
Have you found any solution bro? Its really annoying and it gets worse early in the morning.

Albeit this problem actually its a very good ride though

Hopefully sc can fix this issue.

If basic service then it should be very fast. Some places allow u to request even for complementary car wash. If things that involves ratting and such probably need more time due to they need to find the source of noise and rectify it.

I follow the one at the door +10-20kpa. Also switch between 1-2 passenger to 4-5 passenger if travelling long distance with family. Normally front needs more cuz front is heavier.

So I checked out the Shah Alam COE, but it has really bad reviews. Mostly of the past few years, some of this year. Has any of you been there recently? Are they still slow and lazy as these reviews on foursquare say? I hope they've improved. sad.gif

My experience has been quite positive. Apart from the long wait times they've been quite willing to deal with my issues, even getting the technicians to come and check.

no lah, ANCAP is done by Proton themselves, not secretly. Proton will apply for the program and send in their fully built car model with full spec for crash test.
*
Then the result is not very accurate as they may send in a super car? hmm.gif
I rmb EuroNCAP goes to dealer and buy car to test.

Based on experience, please do not go to COE as it is a training centre for all PESC. Means noobies will all be there to tend to your car. sweat.gif

I seriously hope so. COE is a very bad place except to test drive cars!

nope, no solutions found. But what I know is, if you place your palm on the left-side dashboard (near the airbag place) and apply some pressure, the rattling stops..

Hmmmm... But, since it's the first service, I believe we're just changing the oil and the oil filter, right? So that should be VERY easy and quick. I'd even do it myself but well, the car is new and it's in warranty, so I'm not touching anything.

I think the manual has somewhere what items are being checked in the first service, but I don't have it at hand right now. However, I do remember it's basically just oil.

Anyone knows what else?
Raid.

Guys, Proton Iriz service interval is 10,000km regardless of the type of engine oil used. Emailed Proton We-Care and they replied within the hour. Now SC takbleh kencing us liao say semi must change every 5000km.

This reminded me of my post last saturday when i went for oil change.

Can't remember who asked (i think it was bro adijb) which oil was used for my car. They used Petronas Syntium 800 10W/30 4L. No idea what the numbers mean except for the volume. Price is RM131.44 nett (RM124 before 6% GST)

When i went to SC last week, mileage was recorded at 15700km. Sticker on windshield indicates next oil change is 20701km (5000km later).

Given the above, can anyone tell me if my SC kencing me or it's memang supposed to be 5000km with the oil they used. I really don't know this kind of stuff la =\

You went for your 2nd or 3rd service?

Info from proton wecare is clear and consistent, 10,000km every oil change.

The problem here is the sc, either does not get the info from hq, or something else.

I went twice to larkin sc in Q1 and both times was informed 5,000km service interval. I went twice to plentong sc in Q3 and both time was informed 10,000km service interval. I hope and sangka baik, that info was not clear to sc that insist on it being a 5,000km service interval with no bad intention

I don't think it's bad intention either. In general I have always changed my car's engine oil every 5-6K km. It prolongs your engine's lifetime by having fresh and clean oil. Also RM 150 is not that much or that bad to change every 5 or 6K, IMHO. Overall, it will not hurt your engine, and without evidence I would say it will even improve it's performance in the long run, as in, healthier engine for a longer service cycle.

my two cents
