Guys, I scratched my rear side skirt today, sakit hati damn it. So hard to estimate position of the rear of the car especially at those underground parking that has spiral ramps.

Been reading this forum trying to get more information before getting iriz 1.3 auto version, currently driving saga blm and iswara, need to have more information on this model and seems like not many here driving 1.3 auto version, why may I asked?...is it under power, bad fuel consumption or any other problems?....thinking of getting this model for my children to drive to college......hope to get some feedback, thanks a million

Hey bro. Check the Owner's List on 1st page. I think it's amost 50-50 or 40-60 for 1.3 vs 1.6.

and no, I can tell you even if Iriz is a pretty heavy car at 1.1k+ kg, it is not under powered.
Although the CVT gearbox makes the Iriz looks as if it is under powered even for the 1.6 engine.
Once you get the hang of driving a CVT gearbox and know how to control the car, then you will know.

Go for a test drive! That's the best hands on experience to see whether you are satisfied with it or not. thumbup.gif

Once when stopped on a slope a truck ahead of me stalled and rolled backwards. The brake was stiff as HHA was activated so I couldn't go anywhere, LOL. I now realised I could've switched to N gear but didn't think of it when panicking.

So conclusion, in certain rare situations it could be a double-edged sword. lol

I see. too bad that my parents dont have any proton but my relatives got la, so entitled to the discount of rm100?
*
Nope. My SA told me only applies to Parents or Spouses. Siblings also cant qualify. Quite misleading the Ad.

Yeah! By far, I think black is the rarest of them all. Funny though, always imagined black, white and silver to be the most common.

Any reason why moon dust grey is so popular..?
*
New colour from Proton I guess. and also it looks good..

Guys. Anyone here with 1.3 manual standard ? how your fuel consumption ? mine quite bad despite only use for work. according to the average, 25-28km/h and 8.5-8.9l/100km .
*
dont just rely on that. Do your own calculations also. Pump full tank. Reset trip meter. Next fuel up calculate your L/100km or KM/L

After one month+ hanging out in this thread, I am finally an official Iriz owner. Come give me break-in tips, what are the to dos & donts of new car. thumbup.gif

Collected my car from Vincent yesterday. First thing I did was spending almost 2 hours going through the radio manual & setting up the radio/bluetooth calling, etc. Lol. Music is important to me. laugh.gif
Next up to digest would be the thicker car manual.

I think i'm the first person in my condo to drive an Iriz, and while sitting in the car for 2 hours I got quite a few looks from neighbours already. From their face expression I would be guessing their thoughts were along the line of "Hmm wow that's a good looking car, but it has a Proton badge? rclxub.gif Hmm hmmm.."

Overall very happy with the car except one thing. Dashboard rattling noise I think. shakehead.gif
Haven't really diagnose where/what is the noise. It sounds like something loose from the dashboard or could be air-cond duct inside, but I cant really tell what it is because i cant press the dashboard plastic down (subtle good job Proton, no flimsy plastic)

Will do more driving soon to find out where the noise comes from. If indeed dashboard sound then for 1k service i plan to go SC and ask them remove/re-install/tighten the dashboard.

Ok i identified the noise already. Its from the dashboard directly above the glove box. Normal driving also will have the sound.

If i press it with my palm (or put some weight on it), the noise will be gone.

So far thats the only sound I have lol. My steering, doors no sound, yet (hope it stays that way)

Btw want to ask, in the engine bay, where you check your Engine No there. Is it rusty-ish colour?

Can you guys take a look at yours and let me know? I'm scared if its rust.

yeah me too. is it normal? Don't think much about it.

This is something my SA highlighted to me during inspection when i collected my car. He says it's normal and there's absolutely nothing to worry about.

Any thoughts or comments on this, Vincent?

if its meant to be that way then im fine with it. Just scared if mine is isolated case.

Hope more member can share what they found.

I am guessing there is some panel thing at the engine which is rusted. From what I was told, its cast iron.
