I will like to apply for MBB 2 gold card to replace the HSBC card.

FYI, this is my first time terminating a card, I think I can just call the HSBC CS centre and tell them about this.

I owe them a few hundred ringgits and I gona settle that next month as my card expires in Dec.

What else I need to know and do apart from the above two steps?
eg. Get an official email from HSBC regarding the termination?

I got their confirmation via email. Yes, just to keep a black and white especially I really dislike HSBC.

on Sat evening night, i tweeted @MyMaybank asking on this, asked to DM my name, contact and IC. At 10:24PM, i received call from Maybank CS, asked few questions to verify include all my MBB CC last 4 digits number.

on Sunday, i received SMS notification on the successful update on SMS trigger alert!

stress free channel.

It's good to have this!
I even received real time SMS when I transacted using maybank card overseas, and guess what? my sms charges cost nearly two mcd meals

Maybank CS now either too smart or too power.

I sent all my card to RM 1 alert.

Last weekend, I swiped 400 in some outlet.

No SMS come at all.

And I'm still getting paper statements for my VS and Ikhwan! Despite registering more than 3 times for paperless

ouch! no wonder the CS did remind me that SMS from Maybank is FOC, while on telco side might incur charges!

btw, swiped at Caltex, got SMS notification tht RM200 being charged to card...

if you don't want rm200 to be charged/held upfront, you may use petron's automated dispenser where you may preset the figure that you want, before you enter your cc. so only the preset figure will be charged.

I set up the email statement on Maybank2U, not sure will have same case like you or not, as I just set it up.
