you can either
1. check the outstanding balance/unbilled transaction at your citibank online portal
2. check cimbclicks for any failed transaction
3. called up citibank cs to ask whether the amount has been received or not

you can set SMS alert for any debit/credit transaction to your accounts in Citibank portal.

You will receive one sms from cimb, one thank you sms from citibank.


Option 1: If you choose GIRO, RM0.11 (inclusive GST)

upon completion your payment of transfer fund to citibank (payment sucessful), you will receive one sms from cimb. (normally within 1-2 minutes)
after 24-48 hours,
citibank will send you a thank you message, stating RMXXXX.XX paid.

Then this is the direct confirmation.



Option 2: If you choose IBFT, RM0.53 (inclusive GST)

upon completion your payment of transfer fund to citibank (payment sucessful), you will receive one sms from cimb. (normally within 1-2 minutes)

you can log in into citibank online. you will see your credit limit has been increase accordingly to your payment account.

if my credit limit is RM80k, i spent RM2k, credit limit is RM78k, if i paid back RM2k using IBFT, the credit limit in citibank online will instantaneously increased back to otiginal credit limit, i.e. RM80k.

This is indirect confirmation.

if you want direct confirmation, wait for sms from citibank as i mentioned above.

If you are not willing to pay the AF, then just tell them you would like to cancel the card.
There is a chance you may get counter offer to waive the AF with conditions. Worst case, just redeem all your reward points and cancel it for real.

Annual fees will be pro rated if you have to pay (not entire year). The dept for waiver is Card Retention Unit and they work during office hour.
One thing,sometimes they will only waive once you officially submit cancellation request ( with all outatanding balance cleared).
As customer, usually its too late although they will give alot of excuse that they reviewed and now you eligible. There a lot of no annual fee upfront from competitors.

My friend write to complain Citibank on the AF charged, bank called him and finally waived.

If the annual fee (let say RM 100) starts charging on 1 Feb 2016 to 31 Jan 2017, and you cancel today, it will be 18/366 (leap year) x RM 100 = RM 0.86. Not the entire RM 100.

Just received a call regarding the insurance that they collaborate with AIA. Anyone can confirm this? The whole program does not seem like a scam, but I doubt there's such good thing happening to me. unsure.gif
