Hi all,

I have my #hotlink number with me about 2 years with quite a pretty number.
I am residing in oversea most of my time and return to Malaysia once or twice a year.
As much as I want to keep my number active, I need to recharge, keep an eye on it so it does not pass the line termination date.
Having said that, I need to set tons of reminder to myself, recharge the credit and keep the service stay active.

Unfortunate thing was I had purchased the SIM where Maxis/Hotlink started the #Hotlink plan.
I have contacted your customer service early this year and I have been advised I was NOT allowed to revert to any prior Hotlink Basic plan.
I understood the benefit of #Hotlink, having FREE Basic Internet (limited to 500MB, effective 23rd July 2015) during the Active periods.
But again, I do not live back home most of the time and IMO, your free internet is kinda useless and slow (speed limited to a maximum 64kbps).
I could not load any webpage when I landed at the airport, and I would preferred to subscribe to your 4G mobile internet plans.

I have been researching Maxis forum and Low Yat forum (refer to: https://forum.maxis.com.my/forum_topic.asp?...55&whichpage=7).
I can confirmed that there are thousand and thousand of people have been asking for Validity 90 or 365.
Early this year I have contacted Hotlink customer service, I've been told that Hotlink has upgraded to new menu and Validity 90/365 has been removed.

So, Maxis and Hotlink, can you please consider to bring back the Validity 90 or Validity 365 for ease of Hotlink users and myself with following facts:
1. I'm residing in oversea most of the time and hoping to keep the same old number whenever I return.
2. Keep myself stress free by reminding myself to reload every 30/60 days.
3. Free Internet during active period is pointless and useless to me (and most of the people), I would subscribe to Mobile Internet package every time.
4. RM33.00 for Validity 365 is provided upfront to your company and customer gets the benefit. It's a WIN-WIN situation.
5. Having my number active for 365 days will keep yourself from recycling/reuse the numbers less often, eg: less work for you guys.

Please do not offer me to opt in for Maxis plan and freeze my account until I return home.
I do not want to increase my burden to maintain a Maxis account in oversea.

Sorry guys, have not been logged into LYN for sometime.
Here are some info you should know in order to get your validity 90/365:
- Validity 90/365 is NOT available for #Hotlink and FAST plans (FAST plan offered validity when they started but Hotlink decided to cease it a few months later)
- Once you opted out of FAST plan you will no longer enjoy their mobile internet benefits

I'm helping out #Hotlink admin here due to high demand of users seeking for Validity 90/365
Please PM #Hotlink admin with the following details:

1. Full name
2. NRIC/passport whichever is applicable
3. Mobile number for the request
4. Alternate mobile number
5. Reason for the request

If maxis refuses to budge with regarding to allowing 365 for #hotlink users, I guess the only way is to go to their competitor.

Quite waste of money to maintain balance / topup when I won't use it when in overseas for 6 months.

Celcom had an inexpensive 2 year plan, I think still does.

You might consider buying a handful of Rm5 topup slips and using a calendar date app to remind you when the number is about to expire. Maybe the IFF app can do it automatically with a recipe.

Well. I assume it's pay in advance.
Balance still can be used once I return home.
But it's a gamble... If you forgotten to reload on time, you lose all your bet (credit).

Great! If competitors offer such thing.
I definitely do not mind switching, provided I can carry my number to other operator.
Does cell phone operators offer such thing back home?

Buying tons of RM5 top buy card? Wasting my time seriously. I reload RM60 will last me 60+55 days before the line is terminated. So overall, I need to do this about 4 times a year.

I too was pissed off when switched to new Hotlink and couldn't get the old 365.

Sorry, my mistake. 55 days was just something pulled out from my brain.
It's actually 50 days after checking with Hotlink's FAQ.
So all up is 60+50 = 110 days for RM60 top up.

Let's take it off topic for competitor products since this is #Hotlink threads.

#Hotlink, I am currently working in Singapore. I will only be back few times per year to Malaysia. I would like to keep my old number as I still have contacts living in Malaysia.

The only viable solution is to topup monthly just to keep it active. Any other solution?

Hi,

Please be advised that it is not necessary for you to top up every month to keep your line active.
You can top up a few days before the line expired. E.g Expired Date is 31/08/15 and maybe you can top up on 28 or 29 Aug.

Hi,

I bought a #Hotlink number for my old disabled uncle.

I thought we could use the Validity 365 plan for him because he rarely make calls, but we need to keep the number active so that we could contact each other if there's any emergency.

But sadly, I was disappointed to find out after buying the number that there's no way to revert to the old plans or subscribe to Validity 365. Really hope #Hotlink can help me.

Hi Hotlink, this is the question.
Why not you guys change the #100* menu to allow user to change plan other than #Hotlink?
This option was available in previous *100# menu.

I'm sure everyone understand #Hotlink is not able to subscribe for Validity plan 90/365, but there is no a way we can personally change to older plan nor subscribe to validity.
We need the option to revert to older plan for people who does not prefer #Hotlink plan, as simple as that.


Can you imagine how much toonny needs to do to keep his gf's number active?
Imagine all your family, friends, uncles, aunties, buddies, everyone saved your number in their phone book, pick up and call the number you always had and is connected to somebody else (erm... a newly arrived foreign Bangladesh worker??)
Imagine that your contact number is provided to others in event of emergency?
Imagine that your contact number is provided to your bank or financial hub for TAC request code and etc?


It's so important to keep a number active all times especially for people like us residing in oversea and be back home once in a while.
Please Hotlink, please stand on your customer's shoe and listen to your customer's opinion/demand.

Look like Hotlink is driving their customers away.
Sorry to say, with this inconvenience, I will port my number to Digi Prepaid where I can subscribe to the 365 plan.
Afterall the number still stick to me.

The only solution is to port to Digi Prepaid and subscribe to 365 plan.
The number still stick to you.

For validity plan, you can subscribe it either via *100# > Hotlink Specials > Validity or dial *128*22# (For One-Off subscription), *128*23# (For Auto Renewal subscription).

Otherwise, please PM us your details for our further checking.

1)Mobile number
2) Full name
3) NRIC
4) date of last top up made and amount

Updated 21st August 2015

Many thanks to #Hotlink.
My #Hotlink plan has been reverted to older BAGUS WM plan, which is what I wanted following months of discussion from Maxis forum to LYN.
FYI, #Hotlink has changed their *100# menu early 2015, user can't revert to older plan, nor subscribe to Validity 90/365.
Note: Validity 90/365 is NOT available to new #Hotlink plan.

If you're currently using new #Hotlink plan and wish to subscribe to Validity, please follow these steps:
1. Reply to this thread.
2. #Hotlink will PM you requesting further information including personal details.
3. You will be given a case reference number.
4. Your #Hotlink plan will be reverted to plan that may subscribe to Validity 90 or 365. (takes about few days)
5. Subscribe to Validity 90 or 365 via *100# menu.

Updated 21st August 2015

Many thanks to #Hotlink.
My #Hotlink plan has been reverted to older BAGUS WM plan, which is what I wanted following months of discussion from Maxis forum to LYN.
FYI, #Hotlink has changed their *100# menu early 2015, user can't revert to older plan, nor subscribe to Validity 90/365.
Note: Validity 90/365 is NOT available to new #Hotlink plan.

If you're currently using new #Hotlink plan and wish to subscribe to Validity, please follow these steps:
1. Reply to this thread.
2. #Hotlink will PM you requesting further information including personal details.
3. You will be given a case reference number.
4. Your #Hotlink plan will be reverted to plan that may subscribe to Validity 90 or 365. (takes about few days)
5. Subscribe to Validity 90 or 365 via *100# menu.

So, Maxis and Hotlink, can you please consider to bring back the Validity 90 or Validity 365 for ease of Hotlink users and myself with following facts:
1. I'm residing in oversea most time and wish to keep the same number when I return home every time.
2. Keep myself stress free by reminding myself to reload every 30/60 days.
3. Free Internet with active line is pointless and useless to me (and most of the people) providing I subscribe to Mobile Internet package every time.
4. RM33.00 for Validity 365 is provided upfront to your company and customer gets the benefit. It's a WIN-WIN situation.
5. Having my number active for 365 days will keep yourself from recycling/reuse the numbers more often, eg: less work for you guys.

Please do not offer me to sign up plan with Maxis and freeze my account until I return home.
I have nobody to maintain that Maxis account.

Hi Hotlink,
As far as i know to port in to hotlink, the prepaid plan right now is #hotlink. so after successful ported in, can i choose to convert back to hotlink old plan with 365 validity? If the answer is yes, i will port in my number to hotlink. Look forward to your reply, Thank you.

You may change your plan but once you have convert your plan to Hotlink Basic Plan which allow you to subscribe to Validity service, you cant convert it back to #Hotlink again.

Hi, i am a new user for the #hotlink plan. But my friend had helped me to call hotlink to revert back to the old plan which is valid for validity 365. However, because i wasn't in Malaysia and my sim card become inactive right now, i couldn't do anything. NOT even topping up to dial *100# =______=

any ideas what i can do right now?

Please pm hotlink, i bought my wife a hotlink number when we came back malaysia and also at the same time, i have my number used it for 5years and the 365 jz expired at first i.unable to renew it after complain then now i already renew my 365, but now the problem is my wife number cant subscribe to the 365 , ..we are going back oversea very soon ,please help we revert it back to basic plan n let we subscribe the 365 validity

So how many users here managed to get validity 90/365 days?

Seems like Hotlink need more valid reasons now to get the validity then just saving +RM300 to keep the number alive for a year.

nah pmed me .. but unable revert it back .. it is pointless let me to holding a hotlink number d .. 50days for deactive period is unless for me .. we are residing in oversea what if we forgot to reload within the deactive period,so it gonna expired without notice .. nvm let me research some on other network .. it is sad took off the 365days staying in hotlink for who are like us... mayb u can let those who really need it to subscribe the 365 with certain reason walk in to show passport or what,so ur customer will stay with u .. once customer left because of such feature ... then it might be forever ..

I would like to convert the #hotlink WM plan to basic plan which entitle for 365 days validity.
Actually i transfer from celcom postpaid this year i thought hotlink got 365, so i transfer from celcom to hotlink. If hotlink cant let me change to basic plan which entile for 365 days validity , i think will transfer to digi or tune talk

Byk boleh jimat kalau buat validity 365.. please tukar..

I can confirmed that there are thousand and thousand of people have been asking for Validity 90 or 365.
Early this year I have contacted Hotlink customer service and I was told that Hotlink has upgraded to new menu and thus Validity 90/365 has been opted out for new plan.

So, Maxis and Hotlink, can you please consider to bring back the Validity 90 or Validity 365 for ease of Hotlink users and myself with following facts:
1. I'm residing in oversea most time and wish to keep the same number when I return home every time.
2. Keep myself stress free by reminding myself to reload every 30/60 days.
3. Free Internet during active period is pointless and useless to me (and most of the people) providing I subscribe to Mobile Internet package every time.
4. RM33.00 for Validity 365 is provided upfront to your company and customer gets the benefit. It's a WIN-WIN situation.
5. Having my number active for 365 days will keep yourself from recycling/reuse the numbers more often, eg: less work for you guys.

Please do not offer me to sign up plan with Maxis and freeze my account until I return home.
I have nobody to maintain that Maxis account.

Many thanks to #Hotlink.
My #Hotlink plan has been reverted to older BAGUS WM plan, which is what I wanted following months of discussion from Maxis forum to LYN.
FYI, #Hotlink has changed their *100# menu early 2015, users are not allow to revert to older plan, nor subscribe to Validity 90/365.
Note: Validity 90/365 is NOT available to new #Hotlink plan.

If you're currently using new #Hotlink plan and wish to subscribe to Validity, please follow these steps:
1. Reply to this thread (do not post your mobile number here, it's violating LYN's Maxis rules).
2. #Hotlink will PM you requesting further information including personal details and etc.
3. You will be given a case reference number via PM and SMS.
4. Your #Hotlink plan will be reverted to plan that may subscribe to Validity 90 or 365. (takes about few days)
5. Subscribe to Validity 90 or 365 via *100# menu or refer to:
    https://www.hotlink.com.my/content/hotlink/...hcat=AllResults

Im a bit confused. So can we still apply for the 365 days validity plan.
My brother stays in Shanghai and is only back to Malaysia once or twice a year. Each time he comes back he has to apply for a new number and then has to inform everyone of his new number. Quite a hassle. Ive been topping up his last number and has to keep an eye out that it doesnt get terminated. Found this thread and wonder whether he can change his no to a 365-valid sim.

If you've used Validity 365 last year, means you're not on #Hotlink plan at that time.

Have you changed your plan to #Hotlink in the meantime? If not, you should still be able to use Validity 365.

If you've changed to #Hotlink plan, you'll generally not be allowed to change back to your old plan, and thus not be able to use Validity 365.

What's your current plan? You can check on your phone, then understand the situation from there?

With #hotlink plan, they wouldn't allow the subscription of 365 validty unless you are on other legacy rate plan.

Are you a postpaid user? If yes, we suggest you to make your mom's number to be a supp line and we can transfer the credit into your postpaid bill. The amount will be use to make the payment for your bill. TQ

We are sorry as #Hotlink is the only plan we offer to prepaid user at the moment & Validity365 is not available for #Hotlink.

I was on Hotlink Youth Club which the topup will not expired.
But suddenly I was change to Hotlink 2.0 with no specialty at all. I always topup rm30 with no bonus etc.

I dont want change to Hotlink Free Basic since RM1 topup for 1day

Once you port back to prepaid, you will be under #Hotlink plan. We regret to inform that Validity service is not applicable under #Hotlink plan.

Hi Hotlink, I subscribed to the validity 365 previously, I didn't know the change of plan, no wonder the validity expires even though it has been less than 1 year since I last top up. I would like to subscribe to the Validity 365 again, but can't find it in the *100# menu, please help

You as the account owner may walk into any nearest Maxis Centre to perform the conversion from postpaid to prepaid service. Before that, you will need to ensure that there is no contract tied to either one of the mobile numbers or both numbers. There will be no charges for the conversion request smile.gif

As for the prepaid service that offer validity 90/365, you may select Hotlink Fast plan. For more information, you may click on this plan.

You may subscribe to Validity365 by dial *100*6# after you change your plan to Hotlink FAST.

The subscription fee is RM33 per year smile.gif Make sure you have sufficient credit before proceed with the subscription.

Hi ocho,

Currently, we do only have FAST plan available for validity subscription. You can change your current plan via *100# or Hotlink RedApps in order to subscribe for the validity 365. Further info may refer FAST Plan

So, Maxis and Hotlink, can you please consider to bring back the Validity 90 or Validity 365 for ease of Hotlink users and myself with following facts:
1. I'm residing in oversea most time and wish to keep the same number when I return home every time.
2. Keep myself stress free by reminding myself to reload every 30/60 days.
3. Free Internet during active period is pointless and useless to me (and most of the people) providing I subscribe to Mobile Internet package every time.
4. RM33.00 for Validity 365 is provided upfront to your company and customer gets the benefit. It's a WIN-WIN situation.
5. Having my number active for 365 days will keep yourself from recycling/reuse the numbers more often, eg: less work for you guys.

Please do not offer me to sign up plan with Maxis and freeze my account until I return home.
I have nobody to maintain that Maxis account.

Many thanks to #Hotlink.
My #Hotlink plan has been reverted to older BAGUS WM plan, which is what I wanted following months of discussion from Maxis forum to LYN.
FYI, #Hotlink has changed their *100# menu early 2015, users are not allow to revert to older plan, nor subscribe to Validity 90/365.
Note: Validity 90/365 is NOT available to new #Hotlink plan.

If you're currently using new #Hotlink plan and wish to subscribe to Validity, please follow these steps:
1. Reply to this thread (do not post your mobile number here, it's violating LYN's Maxis rules).
2. #Hotlink will PM you requesting further information including personal details and etc.
3. You will be given a case reference number via PM and SMS.
4. Your #Hotlink plan will be reverted to plan that may subscribe to Validity 90 or 365. (takes about few days)
5. Subscribe to Validity 90 or 365 via *100# menu or refer to:
    https://www.hotlink.com.my/content/hotlink/...hcat=AllResults

Early this year I have contacted Hotlink customer service and I was told that Hotlink has upgraded to new menu and thus Validity 90/365 has been opted out for new plan.

So, Maxis and Hotlink, can you please consider to bring back the Validity 90 or Validity 365 for ease of Hotlink users and myself with following facts:
1. I'm residing in oversea most time and wish to keep the same number when I return home every time.
2. Keep myself stress free by reminding myself to reload every 30/60 days.
3. Free Internet during active period is pointless and useless to me (and most of the people) providing I subscribe to Mobile Internet package every time.
4. RM33.00 for Validity 365 is provided upfront to your company and customer gets the benefit. It's a WIN-WIN situation.
5. Having my number active for 365 days will keep yourself from recycling/reuse the numbers more often, eg: less work for you guys.

Please do not offer me to sign up plan with Maxis and freeze my account until I return home.
I have nobody to maintain that Maxis account.

Many thanks to #Hotlink.
My #Hotlink plan has been reverted to older BAGUS WM plan, which is what I wanted following months of discussion from Maxis forum to LYN.
FYI, #Hotlink has changed their *100# menu early 2015, users are not allow to revert to older plan, nor subscribe to Validity 90/365.
Note: Validity 90/365 is NOT available to new #Hotlink plan.

If you're currently using new #Hotlink plan and wish to subscribe to Validity, please follow these steps:
1. Reply to this thread (do not post your mobile number here, it's violating LYN's Maxis rules).
2. #Hotlink will PM you requesting further information including personal details and etc.
3. You will be given a case reference number via PM and SMS.
4. Your #Hotlink plan will be reverted to plan that may subscribe to Validity 90 or 365. (takes about few days)
5. Subscribe to Validity 90 or 365 via *100# menu or refer to:
    https://www.hotlink.com.my/content/hotlink/...hcat=AllResults

I recently just bought a 1gb+1gb plan for RM30 and would like to change my normal spotify account to premium.

I followed the instructions but once i open the Hotlink Red app, i can't seem to find the what's hot section and therefore i couldn't upgrade my spotify account.

Try to clear cache, turn off WiFi & restart device. After that, use all browser app installed in your device to access m.maxis.com.my/spotify. Finally, you can use Incognito tab from Chrome if issue persists. TQ

Hi Sam,

Any unused quota can be carried forward within it's validity period (eg; 2GB/365 days for RM45 or 1GB/60days for RM25). Once it has passed it's validity period, the balance quota will be forfeited.

what should i do to change the plan? my existing plan has no validity 365. I have topup 30+ just to find out that there's no such option. i don't use the internet as i'm subscribing to the maxis broadband plan. this is just to keep my number. i want the validity 365 or my topup of rm30 will go to waste cry.gif

p/s: previously if i'm not mistaken, i can use my existing credit to topup provided the RM0.50 deducted for the service. but i couldn't find that option anymore. the last time i did it was last year. have you removed it or do we need to have balance less than rm5 to have that option?

However, please take not there is free basic internet for Hotlink Fast Plan.

Sometimes it's not CS's fault cause it's out of their hands.
I think that's what Sam is here for - to keep the customers happy by helping to get our voices heard at Maxis HQ.
We'll see how well and quickly they respond.

Yes, Digi's SLL, but not sure which part of page you're referring to. What's the heading in the page?

Friends and I have bought TuneTalk over the last few months and subscribed to the 1 year validity from 5 minutes to 3 days after activation without any issue. confused.gif

Yup, i got New Best V1 MNP and it still lets me buy SLL with RM38 plus MNP internet plan cost RM18 for 1gb internet!

hi #hotlink,

i just convert my postpaid to prepaid and want to use 365 validity.

i visited to maxis center and to be honest you need to train your staffs further. I received two different information from different staff and I did not further argue with them because they just dont listen even information I found from hotlink website.

my current plan is fast 4g even though I told them I want to use validity365, so can you please advise how can i use this service.

I'm thinking there's a possibility this is not across the board, but rather for those existing users caught unaware when Validity 365 was removed from the Hotlink Fast plan...?

I was trying to apply the Hotlink Validity 365 using the USSD menu but fail. I couldn't find the selection. I am currently using the Hotlink Fast plan. Please help as I am residing overseas but would like to retain my Msia number as well. Can't afford to do regular top up if I am not frequently using it. Thanks.

Dear hotlink, sorry for my ignorant. I have been very busy lately. Don't have time to serve LYN at all.

Is this new plan stays the same? Pay minimum RM33 and valid for one whole year? Top up only when the balance is low?

I was trying to apply the Hotlink Validity 365 using the USSD menu but fail. I couldn't find the selection. I am currently using the Hotlink Fast plan. Please help as I am residing overseas but would like to retain my Msia number as well. Can't afford to do regular top up if I am not frequently using it. Thanks.

Plenty of such posts and threads regarding this issue already. Yes. It is true. 90/365 validity is no longer applicable to Hotlink FAST plan.

How can I subscribe to validity 365? I subscribe for a hotlink for the purpose of having the 365 days activation as I only use that number for SMS with active10.

Your maxis centre staff confirmed that the particular hotlink plan will be eligible for both active10 and validity 365 before I registered for it.

Please tell me how can I subscribe for it.. I need validity 365..

You may try to subscribe the validity service via these methods if your prepaid plan is eligible for that service:

1) Red App > Tap on Call & SMS > Select your preferred validity > Confirm purchase
2) *100# > My Account & Others > Buy Validity > Select your preferred validity > One-off subscription or Auto-renewal > Confirm purchase

There is no feature nor benefits of mobile internet pass like Hotlink FAST aside from validity 90/365 service.

You may subscribe to these internet passes.

For postpaid convert to prepaid service, it will be under Hotlink FAST plan wherein validity service is not available.

Hi Hotlink. My plan is Hotlink Fast and in March 2016 I bought Validity 90. I reloaded RM10 yesterday but I'm not able to buy any validity. I searched it in the *100# and also in the red app, but can't find it. One more thing. I'm a student. Maybe you have any plan with longer validity for students? Please help.

Those who plan to convert, just go ahead. the data package that i see in hotlink red is not bad. only i am not sure if this package support LTE

only validity 365 (one off) is left.

Hotlink dont offer Validity and Basic Internet at the same time.. u can try DiGi Prepaid Best.

RM68/365 days (U get 500MB Basic Internet refresh everymonth)

i plan to port out my tune talk to hotlink plan. just want to confirm if i can carry my balance of not?

i already submit the req on web, but no respond(not even confirmation)
I called call center, but they told me to call tune talk for this request.

If I am not mistaken, Hotline FAST doesn't have the validity 365 anymore. You will need to pm #Hotlink so that they will change you to another plan that has the validity 365 icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Hotlink, why you make yourself so difficult & busy PM 1 by 1 since the demand for 365 validity is so high?

Why don't you make an option for your current Fast Plan, who subscribe for 365 validity, the monthly free 8GB data will be terminated?

Normal Top Up - Free 8GB Data

As per current, the cheapest postpaid plan that we offer in the market will be Maxis Go (RM48/month). You may PM us your details if you wish to change to the Maxis Go postpaid plan. The validity 365 is not applicable for postpaid plan.

Alternatively, you may also walk-in to our Maxis Center and request to convert your postpaid line to Hotlink prepaid.

PS: make sure there is no any contract tied with your current number in order for us to proceed with the changes

i went to the Center at Gardens and was told i can convert to Hotlink and the cheapest one is Hotlink FAST where RM5 can last 50 days
of course RM5 actually translates to 5 days validity but you will get another 45 days grace before the line is terminated

any other options you can suggest bro?
