hi all, just gotten my preve its a used car that i bought.
Was trying to find the user manual or handbook to lear what to be done and what can be done.
but got no finding on any of the web.
just some tips and normal trouble shot in this LYN.
Anyone has a softcopy that can be loaded here?

I think you'll have higher luck by emailing to Proton or ask from service center, it's a very thick booklet and I don't think we general client has a scanned copy of it.

I see. But before the service my average fc was always 9.7l - 9.8l. Rarely 9.9l even. I've read the thread since v20 and some of them said got better fc after first service. So, i was wondering why mine's a lil bit different? Or is it just their luck and mine is just biasa saja?  hmm.gif

Do you reset your FC?

I did. It was a bit weird but now i guess i kinda getting used to it. I also noticed that even when cruising at high speed, 140-160 like that, instant fc was quite low. But if im driving in a short distant drive, tend to use a lot more haha.

Using cvt with fc indicator is really a new thing for me if not an eye opener on fc xD. Driving my mum's honda city pun couldn't be bothered with the fc meter haha. Went straight from a fully manual car so it is a bit of a new experience for me. smile.gif

One question,

Whenever i drive at not really fast speed, mean highway. About 100-120kmh, then brake or slow down especially at Smart Tag at tol plaza.

Pedal back, unfortunately the gear doesnt drop and jerking like engine want to runtuh already.
Temporary solution when it happened? Paddle shifter, dropped gear and goes on back to 7th then automatically goes D.

Gearbox issue? Anyone faced this? Always happened at the highway, took 10 minutes normal highway drive then once slow down or brake then pedal back, have to manually drop the gear.

Mind to share?

Thanks in advance.

I occasionally use the paddle shift, but not for the purpose of achieving top speed or faster acceleration. I only use the paddle shift during bumper to bumper crawl traffic. 0 - 30 - 0 - 30 km/h.

Not sure about your gearbox behaving funny, but currently these are the 3 main issues with my car :-

1. Noisy driver's seat - Will be bringing the car to the service centre next week to have it fixed. They have previously replaced the seat 2 times (not sure if the seat was REALLY replaced). This time they said they are not going to fix the seat but rather do something. Not sure if they can get rid of the sound from the seat once and for all.

2. Woo Woo sound from the transmission - This woo woo sound from the transmission is getting louder by the days. Even when you do not step on the accelerator, with your foot lifted up from the pedal and the car is just gliding at say 40 to 50 km/h on its own, the woo woo sound is much louder than before.

3. Rattling sound from the back seat - rattling sound everywhere from the doors, back seat and seatbelts etc. Passengers sitting at the back were commenting on the rattling sound.

Due to the above issues, I am considering whether to sell the car sooner than expected and get something else instead.

my transmission emits the normal cvt whine but i think its normal and my car dashboard to the door trim to the seat and the glove compartments everything vibrate badly after the first start in the morning and eventually the vibation lessen...nevertheless the vibration is still there...i have changed all my shock absorbers and abosorber mounting as well.. i guess i need change the engine mountings at next service 80k

Actually you could go to any proton workshop and ask them to verify the engine mountings since got this vibration during cold start in morning. If still under warranty, they will send order request to Proton HQ to get this engine mounting spare part replacement.
I did it on last year, it's foc due to still under warranty. But need waited around 4 weeks for order the spare part.

Should change the CVT fluid at 60K or 3 years. There are solenoid valve in the gearbox to control the gear ratio. If the fluid turns bad, these solenoid valve will be damaged. Gearbox repair cost will be painful.

You should, CVT fluid is listed under major service, if you go to third party, it could void your gearbox warranty.

About the cvt jerking a bit when in traffic jam or slow to engage after change to D or R, just go to the service center and ask for reflash ecu is it? no need to wait another service time or make appointment? care to give more details on this? smile.gif
