How much km did your stock tyre lasts?
How's the performance and the noise of the new tyre?
*
not really used that often, but alot of wear and tear due to construction near my area for few months.
about 50k km now

new tyres feel less noisy and more grip, but then again could be just me biased to new tyres LOL.
will update after a few more days use.
oh but its really quite stable in the rain though.

It's amazing the car can reach 220 km/h considering the Proton's official top speed figure as shown in the website is 190 km/h. Which highway did you attempt 220 km/h? Didn't know S mode can be stretched until those speeds at high RPM.

Mex. the trick. s mode. press all the way. if u feel hard to go further. engage the paddle shift to minus. press again a while then engage + again. press all the way. 210 and beyond before reach big corner should be able to slow down.

Impressive that both of you can achieve 210 km/h and 220 km/h respectively.

Interesting idea to use the paddle shift to downshift the gear when traveling at high speeds. When cruising at high speed of ~180 km/h, the RPM is already high. I am not sure if downshifting the gear using the paddle shift will cause any long-term residual damage to the car as there may a sharp abrupt bump into redline. But it looks like by using this method of downshifting before upshifting the gear with the paddle shift, you have managed to achieve 220 km/h which is mighty impressive. The last time I tried when the car was less than 1 year old, it was struggling up to 205 km/h and it looks like it is not going up any more.

jus my sharing ...

i bought my preve cfe in july 2012...almost going to be 4 years
it had quite a bit of problems ranging from engine to aircon to oil cooler to etcc...
which i don't want to share as it will be very long...
previously i switched to aftermarket 17inch rim & due to the weight of the riims the acceleration , top speed & petrol consumption suffered so i changed to the R3 17 inch rim and everything was normal as it weighs the same as OE 16 inches rim.

The top speed i got so far is about 210-215kph..always in D mode only as i feel it is more than enough.. consumption is worse if driving around short distances like around town but is good for long distances..

i never use the paddle shifts as for me it feels very artificial and not relevant...i don't have problems outperforming other cars at traffic lights but i agree that it takes a bit of skills and practise with the right amount of pressure on the accelerator pedal , otherwise the momentum will be broken....

at highways speeds i can keep up with the relatively big boys but sometimes its quite subjective as some of them do not want to push their cars to maximum , hence they let us win and we on other hand think they got no more juice...

has anyone here hanged their preve cvt gearbox to another g/b ?? currently i just have a niggling problem with my g/b and i am really not interested to fix it anymore..

when i have load...like carrying 2 or 3 people on board the g/b behaves "funny".. it simply sense the throttle input quite late than normal time (single occupancy) and the result is the car jerks violently everytime when i slow down and accelerate...like taking sped humps..uphill stop start situations and even at slow traffic light stop and go...

already preve's respond to throttle input is few seconds slow and with load it's terrible and embarassing for my passengers...my passengers are not my family and it very embarrasing for me them as they feel awkward at being able to feel the jerking....

i have already previously fixed it at proton but it is re-occuring...meaning they don't have a permanent solution to this and i will have to make several trips to SC on top of the 18 times i went in these 3 and half year of ownership....

so if there is a simple solution to it pls share ....tks a lot

My front skirt has cracked, I thought original parts should be more durable.

Anyway, I was actually looking for a reason to remove the bodykit laugh.gif

I occasionally use the paddle shift, but not for the purpose of achieving top speed or faster acceleration. I only use the paddle shift during bumper to bumper crawl traffic. 0 - 30 - 0 - 30 km/h.

Not sure about your gearbox behaving funny, but currently these are the 3 main issues with my car :-

1. Noisy driver's seat - Will be bringing the car to the service centre next week to have it fixed. They have previously replaced the seat 2 times (not sure if the seat was REALLY replaced). This time they said they are not going to fix the seat but rather do something. Not sure if they can get rid of the sound from the seat once and for all.

2. Woo Woo sound from the transmission - This woo woo sound from the transmission is getting louder by the days. Even when you do not step on the accelerator, with your foot lifted up from the pedal and the car is just gliding at say 40 to 50 km/h on its own, the woo woo sound is much louder than before.

3. Rattling sound from the back seat - rattling sound everywhere from the doors, back seat and seatbelts etc. Passengers sitting at the back were commenting on the rattling sound.

Due to the above issues, I am considering whether to sell the car sooner than expected and get something else instead.

Anyone here with mileage higher than 100k km without suffering any cvt issues?
*
Me, now 110000km. Batch 2012. No cvt issue yet, hope will never exp 1. Punch said cvt can tahan 250000km. Lets hope.
And no major issue, just airbag driver light up. Everytime go service ask sc to fix..but after a few days airbag light up again dry.gif

On 2nd year got this headlamp bulb kaput problem. Everytime change, then the other one kaput. Finally sc offer change the whole headlamp. Only right side. Then the problem gone till now.

Driving cond, 50% city, 50% hiway. 4,5 times a year went attack jalan raya utara selatan (baling, grik, jeli) when back hometown (padlle shift on) thumbup.gif

This is a common issue (not that I condone it), but at the wrong place and the wrong time, it could be dangerous. I put two extra bulbs in the car in case of emergency.

An update. My Preve Turbo was brought to COSE to resolve some quality issues as follows:-

1. Front driver's seat noise
2. Lack of power during acceleration, rough engine sound
3. Stiff gear knob, difficult to press the button
4. Rattling sound from the seat belt at the rear seat

I didn't bring the car to the service centre but have someone to bring it in for me.

For the front driver's seat, this time they did not replace the seat but mentioned in the invoice that there is a crack at the RH side, and indicated "to put grease at the rear seat back". Hopefully the sound is gone (for good) after I test-drive the car.

For the rough engine sound, wooo wooo sound and lack of acceleration, I saw in the invoice :-

2. ROUGH ENGINE SOUND (CLEAN THROTTLE BODY)
- to clean throttle body

I presume they have cleaned the throttle body. Hopefully the engine is a lot smoother now with the wooo wooo sound gone.

Not sure what do these mean but they were written in the invoice. Can someone shed some light? :-

In my view, top speed is not really that important. Acceleration / pickup at any given speed is more important than top speed. How often does one drive above 200 km/h. A better pickup / acceleration from say 0 - 60 km/h, 60 to 120 km/h, or 100 to 140 km/h etc. are more important than the capability of the car achieving a higher top speed, at least to me.

Good that your car shows better acceleration after the Stage 1 modification. Perhaps after Stage 2 or 3, a higher top speed can be achieved?

I see. But before the service my average fc was always 9.7l - 9.8l. Rarely 9.9l even. I've read the thread since v20 and some of them said got better fc after first service. So, i was wondering why mine's a lil bit different? Or is it just their luck and mine is just biasa saja? hmm.gif
