QUOTE(wern-yuan @ Sep 27 2015, 10:53 PM) For those whos looking for a faster and cheaper promotion for proton, should head down to Taman mayang in Petaling jaya... Btw, guys, anyone encounter such problem and manage to solved it by ownself, problem that i am facing now, was the damn power window, in which supposed to auto shut when u pull up the window trigger button, but it is not fully winded up, and infact, in order for you to make it shut, u actually have to like pull up the trigger a few times just so it is properly shut...I know that this is due to the sensitivity of the power window as to it has the anti trap fuction..to be honest, i think i actaully did manage to main tikam and fixed it before, but...somehow or rather, i have tried every posible ways but still...it's getting freaking annoying... with the current haze...gosh! Any idea on this matter? I did a few searched on lyn forums but...it was somehow or rather discontinued and i couldn't find the answer for it, any bros (or sis) are willing to share how you guys solve it...(if you encounter such case, i believe you will be as a annoyed as me)...so please care to share the help if possbile... thanks all. happened to me before. if i remember correctly, to reset the anti-trap pull up the window button until the window is fully winded up and leave it for around 5 seconds then only release it.

ESC indicator will randomly turned on , but will disappear when restart the engine. usually what is the common problem ? one of the common problem is the faulty brake switch .. try ask your SC to check on that

QUOTE(jacxk @ Apr 19 2018, 08:18 AM) hi all im anew owner of the 2014 preve exec... the mileage when i bought the car is 35k km... i checked with the service center..the car didnt change cvt oil yet..so on 7th april i took the car to the sc in alor setar to change the oil .they said they will change the oil bleed and do the clucth adaptation...ok.. then on 8th im outstation for a week..my wife was using the car during that time.but only on tuesday 17th april i found some spots on the porch floor.. i called sc and they asked me to bring the car the next day.. on the 18th at sc they checked cleaned everything and didnt see any dripping from the gearbox.. they also waited a half an hour and drove it around and checked again there was no dripping.. ok then they said to continue obserrvation.. then today 19th april there is a drop of oil...what shud i doo...... note. the is no continuos drop if we already parked the car...i think the oil drop only happen during engine running and after car usage. sorry if my english is bad. change cvt oil pan gasket. visible only when car left overnight after normal/long drive. few drops on the floor. for my case, COSE replaced it twice then only settled.

QUOTE(Yayeyiyoyu @ May 26 2019, 11:48 PM) Got this from a facebook group, but not sure whether I should get these stuff myself (to be safe), and if yes, any suggestions? can get it cheaper from spare part shops outside / shopee / lazada. better change all relevant fluids/oils ie engine, cvt, power steering, brake, radiator coolant etc since it's second hand car unless previous user has proper service records. for cvt oil better go to workshop familiar with proton's cvt. i replaced my timing belt after 4.5 years of usage (65K KM) using gaido timing belt kit (RM155), labour RM150 include replacing belt tensioner (RM80) and v-belt (RM48). after 2 months, so far so good. surprisingly schmaco engine mountings (RM300) bought from lazada is much better than ori installed by proton. replace it 3 times at COSE.

QUOTE(Yayeyiyoyu @ Jun 5 2019, 10:46 PM) Any recommended brands? for the oils. As u can tell, I'm one of those who knows nothing about cars I'm not an expert but know a little bit here and there to avoid being conned by workshops. Cvt definitely have to use proton's cvt oil. As for engine oil, plenty of choice. I have been using shell ultra helix fully synthetic 5W-40 bought from Tesco / Giant during promo. Cost around RM90 per 4L bottle. Replace it every 10k km or 6 months whichever come first. So far so good. Some recommended 5W-30 for turbo variant. Gonna try it next oil change. To me using full synthetic is more cost effective. COSE Shah Alam except EO bought from outside, but probably limited to certain brand only like Shell/Petronas. They'll marked it on the service book though. If u're driving turbo variant and into diy, can buy Wynn's turbo cleaner at Lazada. It's on sale rite now, only RM35 per bottle. Normal around RM50-60. Easy way to clean the turbo.
