I got the same problem driving on uneven road will got some weird sound coming from rear, but not sure what is the problem, any1 else face the same problem?

Hi Stichy, the rear problem sound seems gone after the 1000km service. The SC mechanic have re tighten the undercarriage of my Preve. Maybe you should ask the SC to check your car undercarriage and retighten it.

Weirdly guys, I have compained about the braking sounds problem to the SC, but they said that I need to do the disc brake skimming on my own?

And one more new minor problem which is the driver seat is making a kruk kruk sound whenever I moved.. So annoying if you know what I mean.. About that also the SC said that they cannot do anything 'because it is the specs from the factory'.

Nevermind about that, an email have been sent to proton customer care and they are still investigating it.

Hear, hear! My seats produce that sound too, the old tilam spring sound. Having read some comments from fellow members here, I tried my luck having them changed while still under warranty during my last service. The SC has ordered the replacement parts (seats) for me but was informed that it may take a few months before they arrive. It's ok, I can wait. But I'm just wondering if the new seats would just be the same, with the same old tilam noise.

If it is still the same, we are doomed..hehe..
It's very annoying to hear that kruk2 sound, it makes the supposed to be enjoyable ride with Lotus ride & handling become uncomfortable.

Whether or not it needs to be 'cracked' is a second thing, first thing first, nobody has sent their card for update so we wouldn't know.
*
Simple way would be buying a new mSD card and clone our current card into it and put it in to test. If that works, it should mean it is not locked in anyway. thanks.

Had the same problem, SD just put some sort of lubricant and the noise stops.
No change to seats needed.

Hi guys, I noticed a mild krik kruk sound came from the rear part of my Preve when I drove it on an uneven road or passing a speed bumps.

At first I think it was the car jack that is located on top of the spare tyre, but after inspecting it closely, I'm pretty confident it wasn't it.

Any of you guys have encountered the same problem?

Secondly, after a week driving my Preve I also noticed that braking the car when it is in a slow speed also making a quite hard krik kruk sound. It it normal? What can I do to solve the braking sound problem?

The sound that is akin the "mattress sound" when you bounce up and down the bed. Something like the squeaking sound of the springs. I had previously described this sound as a "ngek ngek" sound as if there are air pockets inside the seats.

There are quite a few cases on this driver's seat that will emit this sound when you rub your back on the seat, or the car goes over speed bumps and your back rubs against the seat and the sound will come up. For the past 2 years, I have replaced the front driver's seat 2 times. With the new seat, there is no sound in the first 1 or 2 months but after that, the sound will come back. I will need to get them to replace the defective seat with a new one in my next appointment, for the 3rd time. This would be the last time I can get the seat replaced under warranty as my car will be over 3 years old this coming August. The warranty for the seat is only for 3 years.

Not sure which part of the car you are referring to when you mentioned "rear part of the car". If it is from somewhere at the rear, it may be the locking mechanism of the rear seat where you can fold the rear seats down. If the sound is metal rattling sound and it is come from the rear seats, try adjusting the rear seats a few times ie. get the seats down, and push it back up until it locks into place. In my case, there was a metal rattling sound from the rear seats but after a while, the sound was gone after I adjusted the seats several times.

Hey folks,

Had my car for about 3 years+, after the 40k service, I found that when I drive more than 100km/h, my steering will vibrate (left-right vibrate), anyone know what could be the cause? Initially the Jalan Pahang Proton SC (btw, don't go there, service sucks like hell) told me that it is due to one of my swelling tyre, then after I changed the tyre, still same thing. Did balancing and alignment, still the same. Jalan Ipoh SC says Preve cannot do on-wheel (high speed) balancing because it will damage something (gearbox or drivetrain?), so the only option left is go to Proton HQ I guess.

Anyone experienced the same or know where to check before I go to HQ (which I heard service also sucks and slow)? CVT+ version by the way.

Thanks!

Hi guys. im very noob about car. recently my preve cfe has become 3 years. but my mileage just 37,000 km. So i just go to sc and do the major service 60,000 km as suggested by the sa. change the cvt oil, spark plug and etc. All in about rm1200.

My question is, is it necessary to follow the car age instead of mileage for the service?

I think my previous spark plug still can be used, can i keep it in a long time and used it back? or just sell it as used one.

If the car is still under warranty, SC will insist to go with their maintenance plan.

Else, you can decide your own

For tyre matters, I'd prefer to have them fixed at my regular tyre shop outside. Tyre shops are usually more well-equipped and knowledgeable than a sub-con tyre man stationed at the authorised service centres.

Steering wheel vibration would usually get fixed with a good balancing job.

the term is every 10000km/6mths or which ever come first. so even tho your mileage is low, the they will follow the time rule.

Problem is I already did balancing outside, and even at Lim tayar, still the same. I have checked with some of them and they say they do not guarantee that redoing balancing will eliminate the high speed vibrating steering.

Some of the prevoc members recommend me to go to autopex shah alam to do on wheel balancing, I will probably go and have a look.

That's the thing, I also heard about that, but apparently many preve owners at Prevoc did it and they didn't seems to complain anything about it, so I am also 50/50 now.
