me. I still use lan cable as above mentioned, lan is more stable than wifi. plus, not everyone has their dekstop right next to their tv. That's why I hope they are able to pull the cable since the decoder and router will be in diff room.

i were changed to Dir-820L router as well,
the old router go random hang get stucked for internet even after reset.
but only issue were 10M Lan cable only get me 100mbps instead of 1gbps line with 5e grade.

btw,any insider can tell me is that really have cheaper ISP provider comming in malaysia be end of this years or early next years?

if really so i would rather stay at my 5mbps untill that time only change.

Heard from TM friend, 10Mbps user can upgrade to 30Mbps and 20Mbps to 50Mbps w/o resubscribed and with the same monthly payment.. but for phone call there is no more free call to fixed line, all will calculate as PAYU..
*
there's a catch. you may think o switch and still pay same sure. the thing is you will be locked to that for 2 years ..... and like someone else mentioned, if later in september there is a basic 30/50 which has a cheaper price (because it none of that aneka and other additional channels nobody wants) then you are screwed, cause you cannot change to that as you'd be hit by a penalty :/ but this is assuming there is a cheaper package in september ..... i personally rather wait and see hmm.gif

I called their CS and they are ever unhelpful. She doesn't know about this issue and keeps insisting that TM only provides basic router. If you want a better speed, then get your own router. doh.gif

I told her this equals to cheating if it's true. You introduce a plan which your customers are not able to use. doh.gif Once upgraded, I cannot downgrade anymore.

How about others? Does anyone of you using the stock equipment and manage to get full speed with WiFi? I only use WiFi and not LAN cable, so your experience sharing is very much appreciated.

she's obviously a twit who doesn't know technical issues even if it smacked her in the face. should ask her next time to pass the phone to her supervisor. or maybe..... even worse, it's the managements policy to deny any poor performance doh.gif then better report to MCMC to pressure them (wonder if anyone done that yet)

this one time my internet didn't work. so i did all the normal troubleshooting on my own end. reboot router, update router firmware. re-do settings. restart pc...... pretty much all you can think of.

so i reported it as a tmnut issue, but then they ask reboot modem which i told i already done. still won't believe..... only much much later, they called back and admitted it was an issue on their end all along despite denying it >_>:

sigh.... they should never say not their side without checking first... this problem with tmnut support :/ talk cock over phone as if we don't know anything about basic IT technical troubleshooting.

I really don't know how to deal with this. Any advice guys? Really cannot get 30Mbps via WiFi?

If that's the case and they still upgraded mine and I can't use it, I will complain to MCMC.

try test direct ethernet first see the speed.... if performance subpar yeah then complain sweat.gif

if no issue on speed, then the wifi is a separate matter more likely to do with poor router performance smile.gif

The problem is if LAN can get, it's useless for me. sad.gif

I can't accept a bad stock router. They can't expect every single user to buy their own routers.

I think I will call to cancel the upgrade.

Sigh. After all the waiting, this is what I get.

You could test downloading a video from your phone to your laptop wirelesly to check your throughput. I just checked mine at my desk and its about 28Mbps only when I'm just 1.5m from the router (Wireless N300). It gets worse the further away I more from my desk.

I think i want to complain to mcmc and see how before i opt for new router. The technician also seem on our side lol. saying tm already knew about the router problem but still went with the upgrade.

But at first time after my technician configure my setting, I did get about 26 mbps but that it, it only that one time.

Yeah TM should provide router that can support 30mbps. Who still use lan cable lol

LOL... im still using LAN RJ45.... sweat.gif

to me, i never believe wifi's stability and reliability, plus, at home i use PC, not laptop, hence no need if wanna use high speed internet with unstable connectivity... doh.gif

but, to get a new router is also not a bad thing, at least can guarantee good connectivity and stability, especially if using high speed internet as you wouldnt want your experience interrupted by bad connectivity and unstable flip flop speeds... laugh.gif

You can get a reasonably good router (ASUS/TPlink) for ~about rm150 thru lazada/rakuten after getting discount from voucher & CC's CB.

Currently I have no issue with my WiFi, always around 11Mbps up and down on my VIP10. It's pretty stable for me. sad.gif

No. Its a D-link for Streamyx that I plan to use as an AP to extend my wireless coverage.

You should consider your devices' wireless capability too. Can they use 5Ghz or AC?
If they can only use 2.4Ghz and if theres interference from other signals from your neighbours, maintaining a stable 30Mbps all the time may be difficult?

I think devices should be OK kot. When I was using TP Link router for my Maxis broadband, there's no issue. I can get more than 60Mbps on my devices.

I'm using the stock DIR-615 but flashed with DD-WRT firmware, no issues with the UniFi 30 on WiFi. Even my local transfer speed within my network is around 3.3-3.5MB/s so I believe it should not have issues with 30mbps but I don't think it can cope with UniFi 50.

By the way, my WiFi is using Wireless-N on 20mhz channel width so my connectivity speed is 72mbps with actual transfer speeds of 3.3-3.5MB/s as mentioned above.

Your Ambank's CB can easily cover this expense. tongue.gif Or go and look for more CB.
