I'm using the stock DIR-615 but flashed with DD-WRT firmware, no issues with the UniFi 30 on WiFi. Even my local transfer speed within my network is around 3.3-3.5MB/s so I believe it should not have issues with 30mbps but I don't think it can cope with UniFi 50.

By the way, my WiFi is using Wireless-N on 20mhz channel width so my connectivity speed is 72mbps with actual transfer speeds of 3.3-3.5MB/s as mentioned above.

ah...my is  unifi dlink router dir615. so can support 30mbps or will drop to 15 ?
*
Should not have issues, mine is connected at 72mbps with actual transfer rate at around 33-35mbps so it should cope with UniFi 30, only those with UniFi 50 should have concerns over stock router's WiFi performance.

The link speed stated 72mbps

Mine with link speed of 72mbps, actual transfer speed is around 33-35mbps so it should be no issues for UniFi 30 (but I guess it depends on the router, signal strength/quality etc).

this speed is when within same room with the access point itself?

Tested at one room away and also downstairs (router is placed upstairs).

when connected to unifi, the link speed of my phone keeps changing, what is the problem?
*
When there's low activity? It could be a low power state mode so link speed will be reduced.

Hi guys, not sure if this has been asked many times already but search not showing anything related, so. Has the 30MB & 50MB package been introduced? If so, what prices? Currently on VIP10 paying RM179/month.
*
RM199 for 30mbps and RM249 for 50mbps is the base price (excluding GST). Please proceed to TMPoint for this.

How do you access the router now? Still can access from the old 192.168.1.1?

Maybe I will just stick with IPv4 now. tongue.gif

Yes, cannot.
*
You should not have issues connecting to the router and AP. What is the IP address of the router and AP respectively?

Want to ask .
I am aware that enabling TR069 is opening your router to a backdoor.
Can I disable it like this:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Or is there another way of doing so.

I just installed Unifi VIP 10 few days back.

They give me a DLINK-WBR2300 router.
*
If you have no issues with your connection after disabling that then you should be fine. The backdoor is for them to easily reconfigure or check your router's settings remotely.

a forummer mention this in the other thread. could it be true?

I quote...

looks like different QoS setting for unifi30 compared to VIP package. VIP more consistent because they pay more, also heard that the discounted package (rm169/179 for vip10) also suffered in term of actual bandwidth.

looks like tm introduce this new package just to stop their current customers or potential customer from other ISP (maxis, time, etc), but with the cost of lesser product quality. Not many people give shit about speed consistency, they only care about more mbps, more faster mindset (similar to camera's megapixel)
*
Previously their plans for home users are only up to 20mbps, now we have 30mbps and 50mbps which can be twice the speed of previous offerings. If everyone on the 30mbps and 50mbps hammers their connection with constant downloads especially via P2P torrent then it will cause a massive slowdown for other users. I believe we will have to wait until TM further increases the available bandwidth for all their users.

dear all sifus,

what router would you recommend to use with Unifi30? read through quite a lot of pages back but seem to find anyone recommending a specific router. some say ASUS RT-N14UHP is good but a bit pricey. are there any lower range but still good routers you guys are using?

your help is much appreciated.

Or consider the Asus RT-N12HP instead if you are looking for something cheaper.

None but VIP10 should be RM179 by now, however still no news about this.

Anyone experience slow speed when downloading things from Apple server, like iTunes, App store? The speed I am getting is damm slow, even downloading the latest iOS 8.4, showing me 20+ hours, like not moving at all.

If i use Maxis LTE, the speed is normal for downloading from Apple server.
*
Are you using a third party DNS server? Sometimes when you use other DNS servers apart from your ISP's, you will get slower download speeds from sites that uses CDN technology to deliver their contents, in short your location will be determined and a server nearest to you will automatically be selected. When you don't use your ISP's DNS server, chances are you might not be downloading from a server nearest to you (that is if the site uses CDN, Apple uses Akamai CDN).

For some condo only as the cable used is not installed by TM, sometimes they worry they can't send enough data to warrant that 30mb thus they say not available.

If Time can pump 100MB, 30MB is no issue. It's all down to the condo you staying, if its still using the copper type, then possibly won't get that speed.

for time, they made their own infra.... that why can go up to 100mbps....TM is rely on others... that why cannot offer high speed...
*
Which is why TIME's coverage is pretty limited as well.

I just got bill and there is VOICE CALL

06/08/2015 18:37:58 1300881221 TM SPECIAL NUMBER 00:05:26 - RM0.24
I remember I called 1 time only, that is dial 100. So dial 100 / 1300881221 (unifi hotline) also need to charge?
*
You should call 100 instead if I'm not wrong. The 1-300 number is not toll-free and it is meant for those not using TM/Celcom network.
