Maybank Islamic Ikhwan Mastercard for your grocery and petrol trnx. Mobile and utilities trnx are best rewarded using Hong Leong Wise Visa Gold. Please take note the terms of each cards. Insurance trnx is not usually rewarding unless you can fulfill the terms of AEON Watami Visa Card.

What's the purpose you applied AmEx Platinum Credit Card? It has AF http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...sonal/CRD-Cards
Also it doesn't have cash back for anything.

1. HLB Wise gives 10% of cash back if you select groceries category, all days. AmEx Plat is not Treat Points (TP) but Membership Reward (MR).
2. Plenty of cards give premium lounge, to name some Aeon Gold (36k per annum income requirement), RHB Plat, AmBank Plat (60k per annum income requirement). I'm having Aeon Gold and AmBank Plat, I used to have RHB Plat but I see no purpose of it and I have terminated it. Aeon Gold's AF can be waived with 12x swipes per year, AmBank Plat is free for life, no AF. RHB Plat needs to spend 36k per year to waive AF but can be easily waived, when I requested to terminate it, they tried to retain me with 2 years free without paying any AF.

My question is, with 58k annual income requirement, Maybank allows you to apply for Plat level? They are kinda petty about this. smile.gif

Sometimes, sales agent try to ask them to apply for the card if they are very close to the requirement.

If salary credited to MBB and a good history, sometimes, they might overlook the 1~2k and consider issuing the card.

Should mentioned that HLB comes with T&C, at least he will know what he signed up for.

If he wants to ask more about HLB Wise, he will ask further. I was trying to give him a comparison only.

no problem...i will just stick to what i have...amex platinum n ikhwan mastercard...i tot about wise before but i'm lazy to plan my spending cause of the frills...thanks all for the suggestion. Anyway, Membership points sometimes can be converted to Treat Points during Treat Fair...make no difference...as long as I still can get the Ikhwan Card

BTW im looking at HL i'm awesome card.. is it a good deal?

"Overseas Savings
Hong Leong I'm Card doesn't charge overseas transaction mark-up. What does that mean? For overseas transactions, you'd most likely have to pay a high processing fee when swiping your credit card.

But with Hong Leong I'm Card, even though your bank statement shows the spending amount inclusive of overseas transaction fees, the mark-up will be reversed by the end of following month. "

If you are looking for a card for overseas spending, you are better off with Ambank World MasterCard. It charge a lower mark up and you get 5x bonus points for your foreign transactions. For local and online transactions however, you only earn 1x points.
