QUOTE(Kilohertz @ Aug 6 2015, 09:40 AM) 1. Annual Income: RM72K 2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferably yes or at least waivable 3. Card required for: Petrol, Utilities (TNB/Celcom/Astro) 4. Existing credit cards if any: MBB2 Cards, Citibank Platinum 5. Looking at CC from: no bank preference but looking for Cashback cards 6. Others: Main priority is cashback for petrol and utilities. Currently applying for Maybank Ikhwan, now looking for card that has cashback benefits for Utilities. Thanks! By far, the best card for those trnx would be Hong Leong Wise Card. It offers the best cashback rate for petrol and utility bills. Of course, ASTRO bill does not get rewarded with this card. And there is an annual fee to pay for and a 10 x RM50 monthly commitment to qualify for cashback.

QUOTE(Kilohertz @ Aug 6 2015, 02:52 PM) Hmm, then it might not serve me best as I guess my highest utilities bill is astro + maxis broadband... If your TNB + Petrol + Celcom + Maxis Broadband expenditure is above RM500 then this card should serve you well. If not, it is not advisable.

QUOTE(iamtheone2020 @ Aug 6 2015, 10:38 PM) hi, just want to ask. let say my tnb bill is 400.. can i pay rm50 x 8 times? since hlb wise card need to be swiped 10x per month..or they will count it as one transaction? my utilities bill (tnb+ syabas+unifi) alone is around 1k per month . Yes, you can do that. In fact most of us here pay it this way in order to increase the count. Update: unifi payment does not get rewarded with wise card. Card required for: Petrol, groceries, phone - Maxis, utilities & Insurance 4. Existing credit cards if any: M2C (no longer able to enjoy cashback expect for dining) 5. Others: Prefer cashback card. Maybank Islamic Ikhwan Mastercard for your grocery and petrol trnx. Mobile and utilities trnx are best rewarded using Hong Leong Wise Visa Gold. Please take note the terms of each cards. QUOTE(frenken @ Sep 13 2015, 02:13 PM) 1. Annual Income: RM150K 2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes 3. Card required for: For oversea spending only 4. Existing credit cards if any: M2C plat, Citibank cashback plat 5. Others: Prefer cashbank Thanks BTW im looking at HL i'm awesome card.. is it a good deal? "Overseas Savings Hong Leong I'm Card doesn't charge overseas transaction mark-up. What does that mean? For overseas transactions, you'd most likely have to pay a high processing fee when swiping your credit card.
But with Hong Leong I'm Card, even though your bank statement shows the spending amount inclusive of overseas transaction fees, the mark-up will be reversed by the end of following month. "If you are looking for a card for overseas spending, you are better off with Ambank World MasterCard. It charge a lower mark up and you get 5x bonus points for your foreign transactions. For local and online transactions however, you only earn 1x points.

QUOTE(justice_alive @ Sep 28 2015, 12:01 PM) Let me assume you are new to CC and you would like to use it for 0% installment. So it is good you apply from banks with a vast merchant acquiring network eg Maybank , CIMB. Maybank requirement is a minimum 30k, so I could only recommend CIMB Rebate MasterCard to you.

QUOTE(justice_alive @ Sep 28 2015, 03:54 PM) Im new to credit card .. please ignore my lack of knowledge.. what u mean get something small? actually i plan to get citibank clear card.. not sure its good or not.. Well what do u think about citibank clear card? some place says that it has free annual fees, but its website only says that it is only free by one year.. Citi is not recommended . Best you apply CIMB or UOB. I would wanna recommend MBB but you need 30k/annum income because that's the network with the largest 0% installment merchant.

QUOTE(justice_alive @ Sep 28 2015, 09:10 PM) which credit card of MBB? my salary is actually more than 30k per annum A good card for a beginner would be Maybank 2 Gold Cards. It's free for life and it comes with 2 cards, 1 is AMEX and the other is Visa/Master. It used to be one of the best card in terms of benefits, but somehow the benefits got from bad to worse, but IMO, still useful for a beginner to start with.
