1070 should be a good buy... 1080... not so much value for money imo..

980 was never a good deal either.
It was since the 680 where the initial flagship was worth it. 780 doesn't count since it was just a Kepler rebrand.

If the 1070 can OC like a beast just like the 970 could, then yeah... same case with Maxwell again. Get a 1070, OC the bejezus out of it, get near 1080 performance.

why use the word invest? to me these things is not a investment because it doesn't earn money for me hehe..ok maybe some have it's use to make money but majority is just for gaming

Either go full on... wait for 1080 Ti

or go for 'value'... get the 1070. laugh.gif

Reason; 1080 Ti will most likely give you 60fps at 4k on triple-A titles max settings. The 1080 still can't quite get there.

1070 on the other hand; when OC'd should come close to the 1080 which would make it an amazing value GPU; perfect for 1080p and 1440p gaming.

that's my plan all these while actually, 1070 until at least 2017-2018, then go all out for next gen Volta brows.gif

Combination of 1 ultrawide uwqhd monitor and 1 fullhd monitor side by side, is gtx 1080 capable of 2.5k + 1k = 3.5k resolution to push all games settings to max? Just planning and itching biggrin.gif

For this year's and last year's games maybe. Then next year, we're back to square 1 again. Chasing 4k60.
