Hello fellow sifus, am first timer to do tax declaration through e-filing and got a bit confuse with the process and those strange terms that i never heard before.

1. Pendapatan Berkanun (Statutory Income) - What is this means? Gross annual income (Before deduction of EPF) + Bonus? I assume this column fill with the Grand Total (Section B and C) in my EA form. Correct?

2. There is a relief of Life Insurance + EPF. I wonder why the system doesn't auto calculate the EPF deductions from our Pendapatan Berkanun ? Instead we need to fill in ourself (As per the EPF deduction from EA form + life insurance) ?

3. Read somewhere saids that PTPTN repayment is not entitled for tax relief in the category of Personal Education. Just a confirmation here. And want to know how this work? I'm a degree holder and working now, if i continue my study as Master (part time) then I can get relief here?

4. What is the purpose of filling in my bank account number in? For refund purpose?

5. Do I need to declare if there are Shares are bought under my name (Not yet sell, but profiting)? Or until i sell it and profit, then only need to declare (under Pendapatan berkanun faedah, diskaun, royalti, premium, pencen, anuiti, bayaran berkala lain dan apa-apa perolehan atau keuntungan lain )?

6. Can I put my medical card fees in section of Insurans pendidikan dan perubatan for relief?

Thanks in advance and appreciate.

1. Annual gross income without any deduction

2. You can file a feedback

3. If you're forking the money yourself and you're studying for the eligible course listed on the year of assessment, you can file for the relief. No sure if you're not paying the bill and under scholarship, loan or even company education assistance programme.

4. Refund. If don't put your account number, your refund will be given in term of vouchers like BR1M or BB1M.

5. No. Capital gain is not entitled for tax. Dividend has been taxed at company tax rate.

6. Yes. Follow the ratio of premium payment in the annual statement.

Thanks for the reply, for #5 Dividend has been taxed at company tax rate, means it has been tax to the company, so when I got the dividend, no need to declare?

The single tier tax on dividend for share and distribution for fund should be no need to declare anymore.

Thanks for the info, last question, i got change job in the year of 2015, and I got two EA forms from two companies, so in e-filing, just put in the sum amount of both EA form for Statutory Income and EPF?

Hi Sifus, 2 more questions here

1. Is the dental treatments (filling, washing) are only applicable the relief of medical treatment for parents, but not medical treatment for tax payer?

2. Is knee supports applicable to relief of medical treatments for parents or supporting equipments? I bought it for my parents to ease their knee's pain while walking. It is elastic, not for sport.

Something like this

Hi Sifu, got a few questions need clarify

1. The sum amount of my monthly deducted EPF are different from the one in my EA form, which one should I put in BE-form? AFAIK, the sum amount has to be tally with EA form..

2. My EA form didn't show my contribution of SOCSO, but I did have SOCSO deduction every month and it stated in my payslip, should I just sum it up myself and put it in BE-form?

3. My sister is working right now, but her income didn't exceed tax declaration required amount, and her company also didn't deduct PCB from her salary, so she didn't even do tax declaration. What I want to know is, there is a tax relief for having parent over 60 year old and did not make 24k income per annum, but this tax relief need to be divide among the number of child. Since my sister did not declare tax, can I just claim the relief solely? Or it has to be divide by number of child regardless of any circumstances? (Like low income, or still studying)

Thanks smile.gif

1. Need to follow EA form. Otherwise, you need to ask your HR to correct it.
2. Sum up using the payslips.
3. You can do so. You only need to divide it if your sibling(s) want to claim for the same relief as well.

Thank you david sifu for the quick answer smile.gif

Hello sifus

Got a question here regarding shares trading and tax declaration, I guess someone has asked before, but I couldn't find any related info while googling.

AFAIK, shares dividend are not taxable because the company has paid company tax, so that the dividend given to the shareholder shall not be taxable. Right?

My question is if I earn from a share, not by dividend, just by selling higher than my buying price. Do I need to declare it? If so, how should I declare and how can I proof the earning from share?

Thanks

malaysia's share dividend changed to single-tier dividend already, is tax exempted, so u dont need to declare..

your share, you buy low sell high, this is capital appreciation, no need to declare as well..

thanks for the answer, does that means a full-time trader no need to pay tax? (given that he made his living solely by share trading)

Amount refunded may include amount paid in excess in previos year, as IRB may not refund amt that is less than 100 and will keep in the account.

so your accumulated amount is may be big enough to refund
*
i see, that made sense now, no wonder i didn't get my refund bank in last year, because the amount is below rm100, and added up this year refund, it's more than rm100. Thanks for the clarification

How can I check if my payment was made and no outstanding tax to be paid in the system? This my first time to pay tax and I paid my tax using amex card to get rebates. After the payment, I want to check to make sure I've no outstanding tax left, I go into Status e-Borang > Semakan Pengesahan > Select BE and 2018 > the tax payment summary page still got the "ByrHasil" word and blinking, which makes me feels like I still got outstanding yet to be settled. Any idea?

to check payment, try e-Lejar to check payment after few days or 1st of the following month.

my 1st payment (cc), TARIKH TRANSAKSI @ 16 Mar, TARIKH KEMASKINI @ 24 Mar. even that, it doesnt get updated in eLejar after 24 Mar. only after 1st Apr, the eLejar refreshed, then can see the payment details.

p/s: contacted LHDN via email. sent 25 Mar. only gotten reply 11 Apr  doh.gif by the time receiving the response, i already knew in early Apr payment have been reflected.

Hi, I'm currently working two full time jobs
- one is local company where I go to work daily
- one is foreign company where I could work remotely in msia

Questions
1. By right I need declare sum of both incomes as my total income when filling tax right? I once heard some said, gov only recognise income from 1 job (highest salary one), so shall I declare both or just one?

2. Since both also work as employee, I only need file e-BE?

i got my tax refunded, but the amount was lesser than what i declared, so i did some digging and found that i have one month of PCB contribution went missing (check from MyTax portal). But my company put full 12 months of PCB contribution into EA form, which is why i declared according to that amount.

I tried to talk to the company admin, he said will check and let me know, but no sound after 2 weeks. What can i do? report to LHDN?

Maybe, perhaps your ex company will only do it together with the rest of staffs during payday?

Check with your ex company?

It was February 2023 (last year) contribution went missing. I check with boss, boss tell me to ask admin, i check with admin, admin say will check but no sound until now.

some of us here submitted in April have received the refund, so...
u may ask via this portal, might take a few weeks for the response
u could but my question is how? since the company is making the payment to LHDN, u do not have the PCB receipt
doubt u could obtain the receipt (confidential doc) from the company
*
can't i report to LHDN saying that my pcb was deducted from salary but it didn't show up on LHDN portal? I can even show them the EA form was written full amount paid, now seem like the money still with my ex-company.
