btw what about futuremark draw call benchmark? Or any draw call benchmark on (win 8.1 + 15.7 vs win 10 + 15.7)

btw What CPU spec? what clock speed? if ur cpu too fast it might make other benchmark marginally diff only.

The goal here is to find whether is it worth to upgrade win10 immediately for AMD CPU optimization or wait 6 months later. (because new OS always got launch day bugs, I wanna avoid this mess)

Kinda let down when AMD told us it's the overclocker's dream...

Still, it's a darn good card to say the least, though the price looks a bit too high.

Where's the price cuts?

Well.....AMD did claim it is an 'overclocking' dream.....not 'performance' dream.

Example, Bulldozer and Piledriver CPU are good overclocker.....can generally overclocked around 4.3ghz to 4.8ghz easily, but the performance isn't there.

Same with Fury X.....

Last I heard, AMD was supposed to clock Fury X at 800Mhz and sold at initial price of USD800.

Appearance of GTX 980TI at USD650 changes the game.

AMD decided to hold the launch and clocked Fiji core higher to 1050Mhz and revised the launch price to USD649.
Thus, those who bought Fury X at USD650 have to thank Nvidia for the cheaper price.

Then again, if Fiji really launched at its original clock of 800Mhz, it would have reasonable performance/watt (just check at fiji undervolting result) with overclocking capability up to around 1100Mhz? (1100Mhz - 800Mhz = 300Mhz, so.....yeah...overclocking dream indeed, too bad this plan doesnt pan out).

thats still an ivy bridge 3.5GHz, still pretty fast.

Anyway thanks again for the result. 10% is still quite significant jump especially on a fast CPU. (when u play lousy MMO/indie game use 1-2cores only it will be 10% gap performance). Microsoft+AMD must have done something to optimize DX11 there.

if we put 290x on those slightly slower modern CPU like 2.8Ghz i5 or AMD FX or socket 1156 Nehelem, that 10% gap might grow bigger.

anyway guys, I think not just me find this answer useful, hopefully u guys find it useful too. Basically it is confirm AMD user must upgrade to win10 ASAP.

Guys, I've used sapphire 6870 for a long time already and I'm thinking about to upgrade my gfx card. I'm thinking about r9 380x or equivalent card. Any noticeable change for this card from my previous? My PC use mainly as htpc and occasionally use for gaming at 1080p as well. My cpu is i5 4690 and 8gb of ram. Any card from green camp that good for my purpose at 380x price range? Tia
