Im now damn headache, since my water purifier contract will finish next month and coway hq came and contact me and i agree to continue the contract with a new machine. And just now the service crew come my house to change filter but he said should continue the contract with the service crew instead of hq. He said if any issue arise in the future he wont be responsible of it. He also said now a lot of scammers and can buy your info from coway, take your bank card number and subscribe a bunch of machines. Call back coway hq sales person and hq said they have some internal issue and some service crew member will threaten you so that you should continue the contract with the service crew instead of hq. On one hand the crew said "you never meet the hq person right? Continue the contract with me much safer since you can see me when i go your house service".

Like wtf? Now i dont even know who to believe, thinking of just cancelling both party and go with self service model.

Wow sounds like their service team (most likely outsourced) found their own supplier for the filters and decided to skip Coway itself ohmy.gif

Both party all say different thing. Coway HQ sales person said that penang cody office now very aggressive and can sometimes threaten customer so that they continue the contract with them. Coway service person said now a lot of scammers try to pretend as Coway HQ. I show the Coway HQ documents with sign and everything to the service person and he said this is fake, scammers can now buy document from different coway department so they can scam people....

So unsafe these days? Think ill go back and boil water myself LOL

I think can add 1 more point to this questionnaire

"Are u willing to boil water or prefer direct drink?"

Cuz if u don't mind boiling then waiting it cool, the budget can be much lower

There is no quality option out there for direct drink + hot water for 500. For 500 you can get an of filter and boil water.

If on a budget, look for 2nd hand unit (coway/cuckoo)price is around RM300 +/-. Original replacement filter one set is RM300 +/-. Learn DIY you save money.

Hi everyone, hope to get some advice from everyone here smile.gif
Previously I've been using some 10+ year old Amway filter. I think it works fine (we haven't died yet so lol) but we're running out of replacement filters and Amway don't sell it anymore.

1. landed or condo? - Landed - N. Sembilan
2. how many pax in your household? - 3-4 people
3. got senior / babies / people with disease like kidney failure for example in the house? Nope
4. can you able to do some small DIY installing yourself or not? (like replacement filter yourself?) Sure
5. how much u afford to installment per month for at least 5 years? 50/mth or 100/mth or 150/mth? Around RM50 ish a month for 7 years
6. or do u prefer 1-time off purchase? below 1k or 2k or 3k? If 1-time then maybe around RM2k ish, then filter replacement below RM500/year or lower
7. do you own external water filter yet? Yes, POE I believe
8. hot/water function is it a must for you? will you willing to fork out another RM50/mth electricity bill for the feature? or you just stick with thermal pot + fridge cold water? Not a must but would be nice. If too expensive or really not worth it, then I can still use my kettle and fridge anyways haha. Just checking them out for convenience

So far I've surveyed a few.
Normal ambient room temp water
1. 3M Aqua-Pure/C-Complete Under sink filter mineral water. - ~RM600 one time incl tap, then ~RM300 filter/year.
2. 3M FM1500-B Under sink filter mineral water - ~RM1500 one time incl tap, then ~RM500 filter/year but not sure if that's worth it or not compared to the cheaper model.
3. Coway Cinnamon RO water - RM28/month for 7 years incl service.
4. Amway eSpring - RM5000 one time + RM600 for filters (not gonna get this as it seems to be the biggest waste of money out of all of these)

With hot/cold feature
1. Coway Neon mineral water - RM48/month for 7 years self service or RM53/month for 7 years incl service.
2. Coway Neo Plus RO water - RM53/month for 7 years incl service.
3. Cuckoo King Top 2 - RM61/month for 7 years incl service.
4. LG Puricare - RM70/month for 7 years (most expensive service so maybe won't go for this)

I wonder if any of these would be a good choice or if anyone else has any other recommendations.
Thank you!

3M and LG are the only tankless model here, also provide self-service option which saves u a lot of hassles in future without needing to take leave attending to technician service

If no rush to install, can consider waiting LG future promo, might be able to get Rm60/mth

Hello everyone, pls advise

1. landed or condo? - Condo
2. how many pax in your household? - 1-2
3. got senior / babies / people with disease like kidney failure for example in the house? No
4. can you able to do some small DIY installing yourself or not? (like replacement filter yourself?) hopefully
5. how much u afford to installment per month for at least 5 years? 50/mth or 100/mth or 150/mth? Around RM50-70 a month in 5/7 years including services
6. or do u prefer 1-time off purchase? below 1k or 2k or 3k? depends as i am looking for temporary solutions
7. do you own external water filter yet? no
8. hot/water function is it a must for you? will you willing to fork out another RM50/mth electricity bill for the feature? or you just stick with thermal pot + fridge cold water? no as long the water is purify and clean.

i didnt know much about this need help
actually im on rent fr a few months now and will only stay not more than year. im currently buying spritzer or any other water at shop and bring home.
the problem for me was after like 1 month plus, it definitely fatigue + im not usually go outside. because the condo is at 5th floor and no lift
i was thinking about coway/cuckkoo for a peace of mind but most of em are contracts. eventhough it can be relocated, im going to move a relative house once my rent contract is over which they already have coway/cuckoo in their house while waiting for my new house to finished completion most likely 2027. i did consider about the panasonic rm100/200 but if im not mistaken its not safe to consume the water, which i need to boil it first. scared it might be a hassle . is there any temporary/product to do, dont mind hot/cold function as long as the water is purified and safe to drink

True, that and Coway Neon apparently is partially tankless (room temp water comes direct from tap)
LG has some promo now, 50% off for 9 months or something, but yeah the RM70 price is the highest for now.
Any chance you know when they might release new promo for it?

For renters, it's more cost effective that you buy a standalone filter that connects to tap head, example, Joven JP200 Water Filter for affordable option under RM200 for the set including filter, change filter less than RM60 for the cartridge, or 3M CTM-02 Water Filter if you want more branded but a bit expensive at RM600+ for the set, filter@ RM200. These filters can be taken with you when you move out to a new place since it is not a permanent attachment, and easily DIY.

I used to have the Joven one for years, I bring it with me whenever I moved to new rental place laugh.gif it is quite durable and the filter is inexpensive.

Yeah i did take a look on this joven/panasonic/3m but from what i read in youtube comment/asking shop worker
They said that its not safe to drink unless i boil it first unlike coway/cukoo/lg where we can straight drink..not sure true or not
Im okay to boil water , just scared maybe time consuming and become lazy later on lol

Well depends on your water source and whether you trust your own immune system laugh.gif personally I drank directly from my Joven tap and currently my new place has an undersink purifier (Pureal brand 3 stage purifying with drinking tap) that I also drink straight from tap, but I won't recommend doing that to those who have babies/children/elderly or immunocompromised (cancer treatment, certain chronic disease etc.)

If you want straight to drink purifier that also includes boiling, recently Acerpure (a sub-brand under Acer) released a machine that's a combination of filter and boiler: AcerPure Aqua WP3 Water Purifier around RM600 (can get cheaper on online sales). I have not personally tried this model lah laugh.gif but cheaper than using contract like cuckoo/coway etc.

Xiaomi and Simplus also released similar items at similar price point, but my personal experience with the longevity of these two brands punya appliance is less than positive, so I don't recommend (but want cheap, ok to try la).

I forgot to ask. For RO machines I've been told that it uses a lot more water than what's useable.
Does anyone know how much more would it cost for my electric and water bill if I were to take Coway Cinnamon.
I'm assuming it doesn't use much electric as there's no temp control, but slightly concerned on the water bill for it.
