Hi everyone, hope to get some advice from everyone here smile.gif
Previously I've been using some 10+ year old Amway filter. I think it works fine (we haven't died yet so lol) but we're running out of replacement filters and Amway don't sell it anymore.

1. landed or condo? - Landed - N. Sembilan
2. how many pax in your household? - 3-4 people
3. got senior / babies / people with disease like kidney failure for example in the house? Nope
4. can you able to do some small DIY installing yourself or not? (like replacement filter yourself?) Sure
5. how much u afford to installment per month for at least 5 years? 50/mth or 100/mth or 150/mth? Around RM50 ish a month for 7 years
6. or do u prefer 1-time off purchase? below 1k or 2k or 3k? If 1-time then maybe around RM2k ish, then filter replacement below RM500/year or lower
7. do you own external water filter yet? Yes, POE I believe
8. hot/water function is it a must for you? will you willing to fork out another RM50/mth electricity bill for the feature? or you just stick with thermal pot + fridge cold water? Not a must but would be nice. If too expensive or really not worth it, then I can still use my kettle and fridge anyways haha. Just checking them out for convenience

So far I've surveyed a few.
Normal ambient room temp water
1. 3M Aqua-Pure/C-Complete Under sink filter mineral water. - ~RM600 one time incl tap, then ~RM300 filter/year.
2. 3M FM1500-B Under sink filter mineral water - ~RM1500 one time incl tap, then ~RM500 filter/year but not sure if that's worth it or not compared to the cheaper model.
3. Coway Cinnamon RO water - RM28/month for 7 years incl service.
4. Amway eSpring - RM5000 one time + RM600 for filters (not gonna get this as it seems to be the biggest waste of money out of all of these)

With hot/cold feature
1. Coway Neon mineral water - RM48/month for 7 years self service or RM53/month for 7 years incl service.
2. Coway Neo Plus RO water - RM53/month for 7 years incl service.
3. Cuckoo King Top 2 - RM61/month for 7 years incl service.
4. LG Puricare - RM70/month for 7 years (most expensive service so maybe won't go for this)

I wonder if any of these would be a good choice or if anyone else has any other recommendations.
Thank you!

3M and LG are the only tankless model here, also provide self-service option which saves u a lot of hassles in future without needing to take leave attending to technician service

If no rush to install, can consider waiting LG future promo, might be able to get Rm60/mth

True, that and Coway Neon apparently is partially tankless (room temp water comes direct from tap)
LG has some promo now, 50% off for 9 months or something, but yeah the RM70 price is the highest for now.
Any chance you know when they might release new promo for it?

I forgot to ask. For RO machines I've been told that it uses a lot more water than what's useable.
Does anyone know how much more would it cost for my electric and water bill if I were to take Coway Cinnamon.
I'm assuming it doesn't use much electric as there's no temp control, but slightly concerned on the water bill for it.

Hmm very hard to tell, it depends on ur water usage and tariff bracket

Water probably doesn't cost much (my 2 pax home water bill only Rm7/mth)

If ur current TNB bill bout Rm100 range, I'd GUESS Coway adds another Rm5~10 cuz even though it has a tank, there's no constant reboiling

Ah I see, I made some rough calculations, and it would cost less than RM10/month if that 20W machine was working all day.
So going to assume below RM5 biggrin.gif

Just sharing.

For R.O water, it need 3 cup of water to produce for 1 cup of water for common machine.

Some machine with more advance filter then the ratio can be 2:1.

Ah yes, I've heard of that as well. But also, on rough calculations on how much everyone would drink, at most I'd pay extra RM5 here too.
So pretty economical I'd say nod.gif
