TEsco Pusat Bandar Puchong but I think they priced it at RM399 RRP. You can also buy directly from 3M Malaysia @ RM299 (with free gifts) now before applying any discount voucher. Or if you can wait till 12am midnight tonight to check if there is any 12.12 special discount voucher.

Wow lot of info here. Got bombarded by 2 water filter vendors during Homedec near Sunway last Sunday. Better do more research than just listening to sale talk.

Looking for outdoor filter and indoor filter if necessary for a landed house.

Sand filter by Waterco quite reasonable. UF quoted by Nesh quite pricey if auto flush. Too troublesome to do daily manual flushing. Thinking of sand filter for outdoor with UF only for drinking tap. Or any better solution out there?

A little info for your thesis, NESH water filters are not NSF tested or certified.
*
Nesh sales guy claimed they export to Oz. So when I asked them for certification he cant provide, said only Sirim, other certs with management .. hehe. Only found out of this NSF thingy in lowyatt. Anyway, if export international need international standard ma Sirim how to pakai. laugh.gif

Anyway, their explanation on their UF filter do make sense. More holes compares competitors hence easier for flushing and backwash.

If use UF at outdoor water quality must be very clean so no need indoor filter?

Wah Bro.. long time no see since we all deserted the Swiftlets Thread.

My opinion on point of entry filter is that, don't buy the old tech sand filter. Use this PP filter.
Secure Back wash RM468 @ 11Street and replacement cartridge only RM48. It's built-in bask wash design is very neat and interesting, you don't need to instal messy external piping and control valves for the backwash. No need call people to change the sand media and no more fine sand blocking the faucet.

As for point of use (PoU) filter, depending on your usage, buy any reasonable priced and certified filter will do. Avoid any smart PoU filter that requires AC current and has electronic chip board which is prone to power surge damage.

I'm merely stating the facts that electrical appliances are more prone to failure than non electrical appliance.
This is the burnt monitoring module (the electronic board) of our espring due to power surge.
Attached Image
Total cost to replaced the monitoring module is RM629.65
The conclusion is, it's good to have those monitoring features and UV, but the cons is, it is prone to power surge damage and replacement cost ain't cheap. For those who are using espring now, please protect your espring with surge protector/isolator.

Yes, buy a surge protector, you can get 1 less than RM50 easily.
Problem solved.

Newer version i believe there's improvement on the circuit breaker.
I have 1 install at hometown few years back, my mum accidentally cut the cable as we were moving and cleaning causing sparks on the adapter & eSpring unit. The unit was off and not usable, i took the adapter to electrical shop and they help me to connect back (cost me RM5). It was functioning normally after the fix.

Just sharing.

To those who are planning to buy the RM2600++ 3M DWS2500T-CN, There is a cheaper no frill version of DWS2500-CN (without the "T") @ half the price RM1300++ here:-
https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10...ene=taobao_shop

This no frill version is using the same DWS2500-C-CN replacement cartridge as in the RM2600++ unit but without the fancy housing, digital display, cartridge replacement indicator and pre-filter is using standard 10" filter housing.

That part burnt, it looks like the part to generate the wireless power to power up the UV light. high power

a power mosfet. rating 400V 10A i think, probably around that.
not sure if the damage has ripple effect on other parts or not.
out of warranty ?? if still in warranty, send in for checks.
they'll do the check n advice you what is your next course of action.

yeah, since alr invest in such a good unit, why not add a surge protector for minimal cost to safeguard it, well worth it.

I have to say, its been trouble & hassle free for many units now,
real peace of mind.

ps. if can digest, read the following paper : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3743977/

QUOTE
Background:
This was a preliminary study to test for the presence of multiple antibiotic-resistant extended spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) producing bacteria in Malaysian urban surface waters. Although the literature review revealed several published papers on clinical ESBL isolates in Malaysia, none were found on ESBL isolates obtained from local surface waters

Materials and Methods
The four sampling sites selected within the city of Petaling Jaya were one site along Sungai Kayu Ara (3.112086N,461.596438E), two sites along Sungai Pencala and one site at a large drain running perpendicular to Jalan Lagoon Selatan (3.06454N,461.598756E). One of the two sites along Sungai Pencala (3.095823N,461.633946E) was exposed to a more industrialised environment. This area had many factories and companies such as motor showrooms, car rental companies, food manufacturers and a free trade zone. Drains and pipes from these industries open into the river. The other site along Sungai Pencala (3.120217N,461.627487E) was relatively less industrialised, although it did run close to the main road. Sungai Kayu Ara’s sample site was in a more residential area, with condominiums and houses in the surrounding area. However, one of the banks was badly maintained and had domestic waste dumped along it. Sampling was carried out early in the day on different days, ensuring that there was no rain prior to sample collection.

Conclusion
It is evident from this study that local urban surface waters are contaminated with potentially pathogenic ESBL-producing bacteria, possibly originating from domestic and hospital waste, farming, and agriculture. The presence of ESBL in the environment poses potential risks of outbreaks of infection in the event of human exposure and highlights the need to be prepared for such circumstances in terms of funding and healthcare. In addition, the results show the importance of effectively controlling the release of contaminants into local surface waters. The findings of this preliminary study may form the basis for future work on Malaysian surface waters

This is a new counter top design, can't use it for undersink installation. Sharing the same 3M NSF certified C Complete cartridge as in AP Easy Complete.
If you want cheaper option and undersink installation, go for the RM350 3M CTM-01. After one year usage, replace the cartridge with C Complete. You will get same water quality as in CTM-02.

From our experience, you cant change C-complete cartridge to CTM-01 . Even though it fits , we would highly not suggest to do so. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
