Are you refering to CIMB cash back CC? For utilities, it is only 2% cash back.

Is it has spending criteria to meet too?

QUOTE
Enjoy 3% quarterly cash rebate on total retail transactions outside WATAMI with accumulate spend of RM3,000 per quarter.

Rebate is capped at RM150 per quarter.

Cash rebate will be consolidated every 3 months from the card approval date and the cash rebate will reflect in the following month statement.
And you have to wait for 3 months in order to get the rebate credited in your CC.

Correct me if I'm wrong ...

the reason they only maintain 5% on dining is because this category has less abuse. petrol/bills/grocery/departmental all can control exact amount to pay.
*
you are right there. maybe they should be more flexible and allow 5% dining on everyday, not on weekend only. give us consolation abit.

From best card in the town, it has fallen from grace to the bottom of league! laugh.gif

The existing AMEX threads can be thrown away and forgotten starting August 1st.  cool2.gif

yes, unlike the other choices like hlb wise and aeon watami, uob one and cimb cr have no additional minimum spending criteria to meet to get the cashback.

yeah, i believe it's not too much for us to request for this as consolation. besides, many dining places not accepting amex anyway. lol...

don't worry, 1.25% still a good reason for people to ask to pay with amex. besides, dining places still have 5% ma, so you will update more on f&b category later on.

or worse come to worse, you may follow others and send in your resume to fruitie. brows.gif

yes, should be, since it's based on 400tp = rm1. but haven't go to clarify.

you have every right to cancel the card. besides, you can always say that you applied for the card because of the weekends 5%. since it is revised, you don't see any reason to keep it.

Cause maybe it is not ready for public announcement. They pull it off so that few people will see it, so fewer people spread the word. That way fewer people will cancel the card come August 1st. Then only on August 1st, they put announcement. rclxms.gif

That is just what I am thinking. Maybe true, maybe not.

It's already removed but the pop up window still shows that 5% weekend cash rebate is only applicable to dining.

Well if you look at it this way, if 10000 people quit, and this 10000 people usually get cash back of RM600/year, Maybank is "getting profit" of RM6,000,000/year.
*
They won't be able to "profit" those money though. All these while they charge AMEX merchant 3% of their transaction. And from July, this figure will drop to 1%. That 2% lost is astronomical! Imagine the value of AMEX transactions per day in Malaysia. How much is it worth? I am sure it is millions .
