QUOTE(victorywp @ Jun 26 2015, 11:15 PM) the reason they only maintain 5% on dining is because this category has less abuse. petrol/bills/grocery/departmental all can control exact amount to pay. you are right there. maybe they should be more flexible and allow 5% dining on everyday, not on weekend only. give us consolation abit. |

QUOTE(maskedchan @ Jun 26 2015, 11:59 PM) don't worry, 1.25% still a good reason for people to ask to pay with amex. besides, dining places still have 5% ma, so you will update more on f&b category later on. or worse come to worse, you may follow others and send in your resume to fruitie. |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jun 27 2015, 12:04 AM) yes, should be, since it's based on 400tp = rm1. but haven't go to clarify. QUOTE(Guenhwyvar @ Jun 27 2015, 01:25 AM) But just wondering why did they removed it? Well I just got the card last month, if I cancel after august, will I be penalized? Thanks. you have every right to cancel the card. besides, you can always say that you applied for the card because of the weekends 5%. since it is revised, you don't see any reason to keep it. QUOTE(jkngo2003 @ Jun 27 2015, 08:31 AM) why i cannot see the notice of no more 5 percent rebate notice? can someone show the link to me? thanz Cause maybe it is not ready for public announcement. They pull it off so that few people will see it, so fewer people spread the word. That way fewer people will cancel the card come August 1st. Then only on August 1st, they put announcement. That is just what I am thinking. Maybe true, maybe not. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Jun 27 2015, 08:36 AM |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Jun 26 2015, 08:54 PM) Well if you look at it this way, if 10000 people quit, and this 10000 people usually get cash back of RM600/year, Maybank is "getting profit" of RM6,000,000/year. They won't be able to "profit" those money though. All these while they charge AMEX merchant 3% of their transaction. And from July, this figure will drop to 1%. That 2% lost is astronomical! Imagine the value of AMEX transactions per day in Malaysia. How much is it worth? I am sure it is millions . |
