Luckily my CIMB Cash Rebate card is otw. Just about time when Amex no longer got 5% CB. But that 5x treatpoints though..... cry.gif cry.gif

edit: just noticed UOB already removed monthly allocation for petrol rebate. Now better than CIMB CR card....

if you don't want to keep too many, try to focus just on one or two things that you use CC the most. And make the switch. nod.gif

Well if you look at it this way, if 10000 people quit, and this 10000 people usually get cash back of RM600/year, Maybank is "getting profit" of RM6,000,000/year.
*
but people quit spending with the card, they collect less fee from merchant.

I still think August 1st is too sudden for most people. Will we have the same thing happen again where Maybank is forced to revise the deadline like what happened to TP redemption previously?

I don't think this will happen because there's nothing to redeem for.

It's all about adjustment in the Maybank server.

From best card in the town, it has fallen from grace to the bottom of league! laugh.gif

The existing AMEX threads can be thrown away and forgotten starting August 1st.  cool2.gif

No. July is the last month for you to spend since it'll be credited in the 1st/2nd of August 2015.

The 5% cashback dining is only stated in the pop out message and not on the Card Benefit page as what I can see. This will mislead people. I am not sure if the product disclosure will be updated accordingly

Lol. What a bummer!

Just when I thought of upgrading to platinum.

I'll most likely cancel this card. It's totally useless to me if they do limit the cash back on dining only.

Any recommendations for petrol and utilities?

the reason they only maintain 5% on dining is because this category has less abuse. petrol/bills/grocery/departmental all can control exact amount to pay.
